  1. GAK and Andertons also got the Sunburst VP. (They got 'em in yesterday.) Andertons probably the best place to drop the £499 if you don't want to wait for the White and Ebony models. The "free" accessory pack includes a Roksak TB gig bag, worth 30 or so squid.... Epiphone Thunderbird Vintage Pro Bass in Vintage Sunburst @ Andertons
  2. Well, the NAMM blurb from a year ago had them launching the Vintage Pro summer of 2017....... The Canadians (L&M) got them first, some time in November. Then the US dealers got them first week of December IIRC. I think the UK dealers are still predicting last week of Jan, beginning of Feb before they receive stock.
  3. AFAIK, the UK dealers are still waiting to receive stock. Or has someone got them in stock now?
  4. Yes. I used a product I purchased from Amazon for over a year, at which point it developed a fault. I tried without success to contact the UK distributor, (for the product), to arrange to have it repaired, a repair I expected to have to pay for. So then, I asked Amazon if they could put me in touch with the distributor I hadn't been able to contact. They couldn't and because they no longer sold that product, (so wouldn't be able to send me a replacement), they just gave me a full refund for the product. Just sayin' .....
  5. LOL. Yes, Peter just PM'd me!
  6. Peter, if that's the 4 pot version of the SE-2, (rather than the 3 pot with concentric bass/treble), shoot me a PM if you want £20 for it.
  7. Yeah, definitely the 2013 model. The 2014 had the jack on the side rather than front...... I was tempted, but I prefer the looks of the 2017 EB model, with the "Tobias" body shape. If it had been a 2017 5 stringer for £399, I'd have bought 2! Wonder where this stock came from. A pile of them got lost in the factory, to be discovered 4 years later.... Strange.
  8. It's got about 10 thou of relief in the neck now. Dropped both sides of the tune-o-matic...... Action (17th fret) about 2mm on E side, 1.75mm on G side. Lowered the nut slots a hair. Played it for a good couple of hours last night. Being picky but, those stock strings are rough. Jeez, my fingers are sore this morning! Going to stick a set of Hi-Beams on it, later today. Would have preferred a volume, volume, tone arrangement, rather than the volume, blend, tone. And going to have a look under the pickguard and see what values they used for the tone pot/cap. It's not very effective. A bit too subtle. More treble cut required, when backed-off, me thinks. But nit-picking, really. Like Chris said, a lot of bass for the money.
  9. @pedI wish you the best of luck, I really do! The conversation I have just had about Invision, (from someone who is "trusted" within the B2B IT community), concerns me..... You've built something here..... I am genuinely concerned that you have put your eggs into the wrong basket.
  10. That is the first time I've posted an error, where the web server is not able to connect to the MySQL process.....
  11. I am being constructive! I'm giving you an opinion as someone who has been responsible for migrating a platform used by 1000's.... And it's taken me 3 attempts to post this message.....
  12. IMHO, this has already crossed the line, where if I was the IT manager, I'd revert this pile of steaming doo-doo, go back to the old software, until such a time as a proper migration can be done, to something "fit for purpose", like vBulletin.

    Errors

I'm going to post all the site "errors" in a dedicated thread.... Latest, 11:20 today while trying to browse "Basses" sub-forum....

    New Site Features

This is so misleading..... We did send out a few notifications...... Yeah, right. I must have missed that one, where prior to the switch to the new site, at the point you knew that it wasn't going to be possible to import the PM's, where you sent out an email, or there was a notification on the old site, saying something to the effect, that users should back-up their PM's to a local computer, or lose them, before the new site went LIVE.

    New editor

The only way to do this is if you enable the 'Source' editing mode for users, which allows them to edit the HTML that forms a post. However, this is strongly discouraged for anyone but administrators, because it can lead to security issues.
  19. Guys, this is getting silly.... More times than not, this new site doesn't even load.... Even when it does, it's so SLOW....
  20. @ped, would you mind me asking what you felt were the advantages with Invision, compared to vBulletin? Had a quick look back at the forum tonight to see if things have settled down.... I'm seeing errors that I've never seen in any web browser before.... I've no idea what Railgun is, maybe your techs know?

    PM's

No problem. I'm going to come back in a weeks time and see if anything is better. At the moment the new site is not even usable.... Just as likely to get an error as any content..... All I keep seeing is.... "Fatal error: Call to undefined method stdClass::language() in /home/basschat/public_html/system/Dispatcher/Standard.php on line 74" ..... or most often a 503.... Service Unavailable The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. PM's

Well, I don't do Facebook and unless I had some sort of notification or popup directing me to a 'Please Read' message, I'm pretty sure the only thing I did read was the email I quoted, the relevant part being, "the ONLY thing requiring your attention"..... and as I hadn't placed an advert it didn't apply to me......

    PM's

I guess I'm the guy who likes to keep his inbox clean..... Get an email about a PM, click on the link in the email to take me to it on the forum, and delete the email. I'm a member of several forums that have either been upgraded or migrated to completely different software, but I cannot think of an instance where I've lost any personal content as a result of this. From a community perspective, I think the private communication between members is as important as the public posting of messages. But again, that's might just be my opinion, I guess.

    PM's

Ped, the only warning I noted in an email received from BassChat was, "The only thing requiring your attention is the fact that if you have an advert with us, we'd like you to read the notice below about your images. Have a read and if you have any questions, please ask away." No mention of PMs being "lost" in the migration, needing my attention, and the warning to save locally any relevant info from them prior to the migration. I suspect this is going to be a huge deal to many people! I'm surprised you don't seem to realise how big a deal this is, and that it should have stopped any forum migration until a plan was in place to deal with it, IMHO.
