  1. I then managed to get a few more done before timing out for today. Next came Green:
  2. So, 10 drops sounds about right per 100ml. Switched to 50ml batches and 5 drops. And first up is that Phthalo Blue pictured wet, and then dry:
  3. Ok, this might take a while... Shots arrived. Tried the Phthalo Blue first. First job was to see what sort of dilution was needed. Used 100ml of water and using the droppers did 3 drops, then 6 drops, then 9 drops:
  4. No, that debate was ended when it was concluded that trouser flapping wasn't as prevalent nowadays due to lack of flares compared to the 70's rather than due to any amp technology at all..
  5. Ey up! Nice to see you've found your way over! You'll find a lot of suggestions for basses for the smaller-handed gentleman..
  6. I'd certainly say that's a big part of it...
  7. That's what you want. Bit of grovelling and then a new lead posted to correct the situation - I'd call that excellent service.
  8. Bolted on by B&Q's finest by the looks of it...
  9. You've overheard Mrs B describing me then...
  10. I may start without for general consumption, and then add in some creamy plastic for those of a specialist disposition
  11. Oh, and stains are due for delivery tomorrow, so best make sure you've got plenty of popcorn on the go and I'd have at least a couple of loo breaks as well...
  12. That's okay. I'm partly doing the offcuts staining for my own benefit, and partly as a bit of BC community service to see what happens!
  13. I certainly don't want to be regularly trying to get it into the car. The neighbours are a reasonable distance away, but I suspect the missus might have something to say about me using it at home regularly (not that I'd be able to hear a word she was saying...)
  14. I suspect the potential market is actually limited to those with the backs and stamina to cope with it, those who have very tolerant neighbours, and those who have a vehicle suitably sized to cope with the beast!
  15. Part 1 of the great wood stain experiment has turned up today. Having ordered all 12 of the Crimson Shots, my plan is to try different colours at different dilutions, with different combinations, and some multi-colour sand and apply style samples. I'll be able to see what they look like and I can post the various experiments here so others can see as well. And hence, the big box of Ash offcuts delivered (for a massive £8)
  16. I did put that Marshall amp and cab up for sale a little while back (collection only!) or for trade for something (anything!) but didn't get any takers. It's a shame really because I wish it would get some usage. It's just way beyond too heavy for me at the moment and I'll be sticking to the Helix and QSC K10.2 for the foreseeable. I might get a Barefaced with a lightweight head, but for home use the TE is superb.
  17. And, this gets used at home more than anything else…
  18. If this wasn’t against the docs instructions right now I’d use this all the time…
  19. Good job! Once you’ve done a few the truss rod adjustment becomes second nature, and you get used to how it affects action. You’ll also learn how the bass changes depending on the season and if it needs mid year tweaks as well.
  20. Please note: For balance, other Fender basses are available.
  21. I can't live with or without.... Oh, no, that's right, yeah, I can live without him.
  22. Last time I tried that I saw nothing but a load of spenk...
  23. Ah, now that sounds spot on!
  24. 2-3mm relief does sound huge. Unless you mean action height… and I’d be careful about letting it settle after each quarter turn - it can take a while for it to settle.
