  1. I think I’d prefer a yellower green, but yeah, that’s nice. The top isn’t figured so it will be a lot less interesting than that.
  2. Yeah, that's tempting. As is a nice green over black, or a lighter green over Teal/Aqua
  3. Or, a darker blue bass with a lighter green accent
  4. Yes. Green was def. on the list. I'm wondering if a blue/aqua/green mix on a black base might work..
  5. Looks lovely - and I do like a lovely natural bass (see above!) but I think I want to apply a colour stain this time - so similar to that, but with a colour (or two) to it..
  6. Cream pickup covers ordered. Bass and Neck being shipped out today as well. Next job is colour scheme for the body and then work can commence!
  7. Another bass? Another Jazz? Can’t be another Medium Scale as I’ve never had one before
  8. Presumably it does until your fingerboard resembles Ypres..
  9. Those of us with fretless basses would possibly suggest that flats preserve the fingerboard a little better than rounds, and of course gentlemen don’t slap on fretless.
  10. Imagine my disappointment on discovering that an anagram of Shuker Uberhorn Fretless is: Southerners Berk Flusher
  11. Tuner choice made. Had to decide on hole placement and size so the builder could drill.. so have gone with Hipshot Ultralites.
  12. Good job they shortened it to Jazz then....
  13. Their cream should match I reckon judging by that link.
  14. Well, the rather marvellous and wonderful @PaulThePlug had some spare knobs (fnarr!) and sent me a set free and gratis. Despite the amateurish photography they are in fact cream. This leads me to think that cream pickup covers and knobs, along with black bridge/tuners and a multiple colour stain (maybe even a burst) might be a good idea.
  15. Nah - he’s just run out of steam
  16. You really are going minimalist aren’t you? You’ll be back up in numbers soon enough
  17. You ought to consider the hollow body - adds to the sound and makes it ridiculously light weight And I meant a bass trade.. you can’t trade a bass for cake! I’d want to eat it, and keep it….
  18. You should def. try the super light gauge chromes - def. less tension than the regulars
  19. One day, if you came up with a suitable trade, I might just let you have it…
  20. I heard it helps to relieve tension. I don’t recommend it in the band setting though…
  21. I’ve moved to the super light gauge of Chromes and I’m finding the tension to be really in the sweet spot. I don’t think Chromes are really high tension tbh - higher than some, but not insane tho, certainly less than LaBella’s
  22. Combo 300!!! That’s the feller! Brilliant amps. Yeah, heavy tho. I have realised I prefer talking about gear as it’s a great way of avoiding conflict, or talking about conflict…
  23. Given the subject of this thread I don’t think “benefit of the doubt” is good advice. I’ve given a few guitarists the benefit of the doubt and musically it was a disaster!
