  1. dammit, another person I will be in a bidding war with! there is no justice in the world...
  2. Bingo! Indeed 99.95% of the people on this planet will have precisely zero idea who Jaco, Marcus Miller or Victor Wooten are. Therefore they are all useless nobodies with no talent whatsoever!
  3. wow that's a stretch. One Direction are very "popular" yet not sure they have any critical acclaim, influence on musicians or longevity. You get the idea... actually maybe you don't...
  4. Critical acclaim, influence on other musicians, longevity, adaptability to name a few.
  5. Love the bass but really a Tedur Just A Nut on one of Warwicks top models?
  6. Sandbergs are heavily underrated. They are fantastic sounding and quality instruments that are incredibly ergonomical and easy to play. Free bump on me for this lovely roadworn beauty
  7. oh my! that is rather pretty!
  8. Sure thing Dave. Try his recent album Renaissance
  9. Hmm thats interesting. For me Marcus is very much a jazz player, just much more jazz-fusion and less extreme jazz than Jaco. Marcus is also incredibly diverse in who he has played for and the styles he plays but his last two albums have been very much jazz orientated with "world music" fused in for good measure. I find Marcus stays relevant by the players he surrounds himself with on the album and on tour and having had the delight of seeing him in concert you can see that he is content to let these players shine whilst he supports them. He doesnt do much slap at all on his recent albums. but thats just my opinion so take it for what its worth...
  10. Of course there would. Im not saying some of Marcus's sound isnt influenced by Jaco or that he wasnt inspire by Jaco but your staement is incredibly presumptive. You could contest how succesful Marcus Miller would be in the absence of Jaco or whether he would even have picked up the bass. However Marcus would definitely still have existed unless of course he was conceived to a Weather Report track lol. Btw, if Jaco wasnt around, someone else could easily have stepped up to the plate to fill his shoes....
  11. People will talk about Hitler forever too...
  12. cant stand any of his stuff. Ive often heard it said that if you dont like Jaco it's because you know nothing about music. Well my counter to that would be that if you need a degree in music theory to be able to appreciate a musician then said musician isnt doing their job properly. if they cant allow you to connect with their art then why bother. Music should make you feel something other than confused or lost Give me Marcus Miller any day over Jaco.
  13. 2003 Warwick Inifinity SN TCS (Set Neck, Tone Chamber System), £1350 posted within the UK. Pre Christmas price drop to £1250 delivered in the UK. Post Xmas price drop to £1195 collected or £1220 posted in the UK Final price drop to £1145 collected or £1170 posted in the UK This is a stunning example of a very high end bass guitar built in Germany by Warwick. It is all original with the exception of the nut which has been upgraded to the brass Warwick Just a Nut III - I will include the original nut with the bass. The bass has had the fretboard cleaned and oiled, frets polished, brand new D'addario strings and a full pro setup and fresh polish with Warwick wax. Please check the videos on youtube of this beast to see how much of a tone monster this is! It is so versatile thanks to the pickup configuration, eq and switching options. The EQ is a two band afair(stacked bass and treble controls, and if you pull the treble knob it switches the bridge pickup between single and dual coil mode). If you pull the volume knob it switches between active and passive. The only reason I am selling is because I only play 5ers now so I dont use this as much as it deserves. The bass is in very good condition for 14 years old with only very minor marks that you can only see in certain light. There is one other mark on the rear of the headstock and a small scratch on the back of one of the tuners, as seen in the photo. The frets are in exceptional condition and the only really visible wear is on the pickups from the strings. It comes with a Bass Collection branded Hiscox hardcase - I can ship anywhere in the UK. 14. Wow that is a very pretty bass. GLWTS.
  15. You should change the description in the ad as well. I don't think it is being pedantic. Something is either immaculate or it is not. Age is irrelevant. I think it is a stunning instrument and in exceptional condition considering it's age and i wish you the best of luck with your sale.
  16. Bump. Warwick straplocks still available
  17. Very nice Warwick Streamer Stage 1 with custom options of birdseye maple body and Barts. I have the 5 string Stage 1 with Barts and love it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warwick-Streamer-Thru-Neck/172997425106?hash=item28477337d2:g:JuMAAOSwAaJaGLkW
  18. Im not a fan of the rap genre or hip hop but there are some very talented rappers and hip hop artists I enjoy. Eminems talent as a rapper and lyrical genius is undeniable. Im a fan of Macklemore's too who has a great ability to rap but it's generally light-hearted and more paletable. D'angelo is another very talented hip-hop artist who is also a multi-instrumentalist and plays together with some very decent musos
  19. essentially, never confuse popularity or success with talent. Just look at U2, Spice Girls, Britney Spears, One Direction etc. I rest my case
  20. Marcus Miller. Hundreds of album credits, scored dozens of soundtracks, multi instrumentalist, composer, producer, incredible body of solo work, played with a whose who of top class musos, and of course he 8s rather handy on the bass. Seems like a pretty decent chap too.
  21. you can see the bottom of the headstock is maple which means the neck is maple which almost always means it is a rockbass IMO
  22. almost certainly a rockbass so not necessarily great value anyway
