  1. Certainly not Boeing...
  2. Hello to all the luthiers out there, My German built Corvette $$ 5 string is suffering from a very badly twisted neck and I am almost certain it will need to be replaced. I am currently in touch with Warwick to see how much the price of a new neck is but I fear it may be well out of budget. As such I am currently looking for luthiers to advise me on how much they would charge to build me a replacement neck. I am guessing that the front facing of the headstock may be a challenge so, if it helps, I could ship the old headstock to you and maybe you could transplant it on to the new neck? Any advice and quotes are gratefully received. thank you, Chris
  3. Here i was thinking that the strings were supposed to sit in the slots in the nut 🤷‍♂️
  4. I think the repositioning of the tuner is the least of the issues! Reshaping the headstock completely ruins the aesthetics and value of the instrument!
  5. Oh well that is ok then! 🙄
  6. No mention of the headstock in the AI generated "description"🤦‍♂️
  7. I actually like the Look of it so to each their own 🤷‍♂️
  8. That is truly stunning! I have never seen such beautiful MOP inlays!
  9. Definitely a bargain!
  10. Hello beautiful! 🤤
  11. I think it would be better if someone put this tool away...
  12. Obviously - because I am known for my appaling taste in basses 🤪
  13. Found on Kleinazeigen(German equivalent of Gumtree) You cannot unsee this...
  14. I know that there is a difference in pickup size between older Wals and the newer ones - my 86 v a 91 I recently sold for example. The 86 also has a slighly different electronics package with less trim pots than the newer Version. Also the pickup position was ever so slightly different.
  15. The passive Wals i have played Sound nothing like the active ones I have played. YMMV
  16. My favourite part is that the B string completely avoids the entire length of the fretboard!
  17. How is this still here? At this price you are crazy not to buy it!
  18. Wow, I never even noticed that! Maybe it was a Friday afternoon when they were sorting the serials out...?
  19. **Price drop to £7150** ***I will be visiting in the UK at Christmas time so any interested parties let me know and I can easily bring it with me...*** For sale(no trades) is my 1986 Wal MkII Fretless 5 string. This bass was built in 1986 by the legendary Pete "the fish" Stevens it features gorgeous African Shedua facings over a mahogany core and chrome hardware. The bass is all original except for the strings and it functions perfectly including the hardware, electronics and the truss rod.The fretboard is perfect and the bass has just been setup with a brand new set of Ernie Ball flats. Weight is 5,25KG / 11,57lbs Despite the fact that this bass is 38 years old it is in near perfect condition. There are some very minor signs of wear as you would expect. However I would be very confident in saying that you are very unlikely to find another bass of this vintage in as good a condition as this bass. I have made an effort to provide photos from as many angles as possible so you can clearly see exactly what you are buying. I believe that my perfect feedback is a great reflection of the honesty and thoroughness of my descriptions. This sale includes the original Wal hardcase - the case is functional and is in fair condition but shows plenty of signs of wear. If you have any questions please let me know. Price is 7275GBP or 8500€ Shipping to UK and within the EU is is 225€ - fully tracked and insured with UPS
  20. Maybe some kind of Stockholm Syndrome going on here...
  21. There was only one person, who without reading the whole thread, blamed Eddie rather than blaming Jon. So no, there are not "people actually defending letts on TB".
  22. Glutton for punishment springs to minds. The Ball has been in Jons court for 10 years and now you are prolonging your own agony. You seem to have ignored all that has been said here and on TB warning you away from Jon - not just as someone who is untrustworthy, but also someone who has questionable skills to build a fully functioning bass, nevermind what would happen if you need after sales support. As for following your specs, you have chastised Jon previously for his inability to follow your specs. Now you expect that to suddenly change? SMH
