  1. The weight will limit the appeal of this. It’s typical bedroom dealer BS. If you can earn a few quid from it, then it’s worth a try I guess.
  2. Sorry Richard, you were pipped to this one. If I find another (I have one) I’ll let you know.
  3. Any interest for £25? I need these gone really.
  4. It's a lovely bass and I imagine sounds and plays incredibly. If you remove the plastic plate at the back, you should find a label with some details on it. It's likely to be handwritten and look like this. That should tell you what the wood was, its birthday, and satisfy a potential buyer. (I don't want to patronise you if you know about instruments, but unscrewing this won't cause any issues, expose wiring, or result in any damage).
  5. The bible for jazz bassists. I’ve never evolved beyond page 30, but don’t let that put you off. it’s in excellent condition and ready to share its jazz delights with you. Be prepared to transpose exercises into every key…
  6. I love all the Heath Robinson contraptions (it was me who used the drum stand for my Wav bass in the end). They’re all pretty wacky solutions but none that anyone would consider to be anything like an EUB or DB. Personally, I’d check out the full size (41”) scale NS basses for sale in the classifieds.
  7. who said Germans have no sense of humour? In this book Mr Klinghoffer provides a great and simple intro to playing double bass. Great accompaniment to the videos! £12 delivered
  8. I have a set of DB strings you can have for free. Send me your address and donate a few quid to charity and I’ll send them to you.
  9. I bought a set of Golden Slaps, and they were great! But my aluminium bass demands something else, so I've swapped to Spirocores. I've done 2 gigs with these and maybe 30 hours all in, so in excellent nick. There is some slight discolouration (which you always get with these), but they have a lot of life left. The original E string from the set had a few small splits in it. Innovation were good as gold (pun intended) and sent me a new E string. I'll include both in the package. Come packaged in the Spirocore box (the strings that replaced them), but have the invoice from original purchase and can share it if you want to see it. Looking for £85 delivered for the whole set (2 x E, A, D, G)
  10. Replied and (seemingly) sold!
  11. Useful bit of kit, but not needed now. £14 delivered.
  12. Big bundle of beautiful bass books. Delivered to your door for £30. That’s a lot of pages for a little amount of paper.
  13. I found Golden Slaps are a good string, but you may need some set up help when using a gut-style string with a romberg bevel. They can slap against the fingerboard, which is great if that's what you want but it may not be! I switched (because of a recommendation here ) to Spiro Solos at Orchestra pitch. Much better!
  14. I’m away this week but big discounts for multiple purchases
  15. Free. Given to me but I’m right handed!
  16. Cheers all. Copious photos provided to the new owner and these are on their way.
  17. Or alternatively people who didn’t agree with you, for various reasons. I rarely listen to thought for the day without rolling my eyes, but when I was dropping my parents off at the airport at 5:25 (ish) there was a good one.
  18. I'm not the one who was looking to buy a bass from them, but that seems to be the case here!
  19. It was a joke, but even so, I barely have time to speak to people on the phone, and if the website advertises a customer contact mechanism it should be monitored and responded to.
  20. Experience what retail was like in 1989.
  21. I asked them to let me know if a certain bass came in stock. Turns out the exact instrument did come online and nobody messaged me! Was a bit frustrated, but it's all part of the journey.
  22. Hi, yes – drop me a PM and it's yours.
