  1. Yes, this is the short scale Version. But the bass has the same lenght as my Fender P, it´s 116 cm. 🙂
  2. Amazing lightweight bass from the Höfner Contemporary Series. No signs of use at all, has been played only a few times at home. It´s as new. Killer tone, all the warm McCartney sounds plus a few more possible. As I understand it they use the original german pickups on the contemporary series, maybe that´s why this sounds so good. But for some reason I prefer my black Höfner Club bass, so this one needs to go. This is the largest and at the same time lightest Höfner I ever had, it´s only 3,0 kg. And you look like a bass player, it´s as long as a Fender bass. No case, but I have a good box, so shipping is no problem.
  3. GBP 985 / EUR 1150 A genuine German-built vintage Höfner, the pots are dated week 17 in 1967. It has all the features that match the year 1967: Blade pickups, larger control panel, enclosed tuners, raised plastic logo on headstock. In 1968 they changed this back to a gold decal under clear finish. Everything works fine, the electrics are good, no noisy pots or switches, the pickups are fine, they have a very healthy output. Usually I use flatwounds on Höfners, but I tried a set of original Höfner roundwound strings on this one. It sounds a bit more modern, but with the fat and woody thumb you expect from a 500/1. The sound is big and warm. Many of the vintage Höfner basses need a neck reset, not this one. The neck itself and the joint between neck and body are fine and strong. The trussrod works as it should. The back of the neck is black, this is a bit unusual. I have only seen one other old 500/1 with a black neck. The body still has the mid 60´s one-piece back and the neck a small heel, this was changed during 1967 I think. The perloid scratchplate and control panel have a nice dark aged tone. The finish has a few matte spots on the back and the sides and the typical cracks. It comes with a new case. I´m in Berlin, shipping is no problem.
  4. EUR 80 / GBP 72 Rare EQ pedal, I used it with very different passive and active basses. Very good condition. I´m located in Berlin, shipping is no problem.
  5. Legendary vintage and rare EQ Pedal, as used by The Edge and David Gilmour. It´s in overall good used condition, I used it for acoustic guitar and double bass. I´m in Berlin, please ask for shipping rates.
  6. EUR 750,- / GBP 660 Rare turquoise version of the legendary "John Lennon" Epiphone Casino. This was made by the Peerless factory, known for their quality builds. It´s a real lightweight with only 3,1 kg. The condition is excellent, there are no scratches in the finish, there´s only one ding at the corner of the headstock, please check the pics. There´s a bit of aging on the metal of the pickups and the bigsby tremolo. Fretwear is minimal. This Casino was made in the Peerless factory in Korea, which is widely known as producing some of the best Epiphones in history. It is built really well and is a very solid guitar. It plays great and has a beefy and unique sound. The P90s have a great bite to them. The guitar comes with an old and battered case which is good enough for shipping or even some more years of using. I´m located in Berlin, but shipping to the expense of the buyer is no problem.
  7. EUR 600,- / GBP 525 I´m selling my pair O 98s as my little home studio is relay tiny by now, so I bought the new Neumann KH 80. The O 98s have been the professional studio standard in Germany mainly with broadcasting and TV stations, but have been great also for mixing or mastering. They were made in West Germany in 1982 - 1999. Both monitors are fully functioning but have cosmetical signs of wear like little scratches on the finish. Technical they are full on. I have had both bass suspension rings refoamed in August 2018 with the better and longer lasting rubber rings. This was made by Wolfgang Schweizer, he specializes in repairing and servicing old K&H equipment. http://schweizer-elektronik.de/reparaturservices.html The link to the technical details on the Neumann homepage (in german): http://www.neumann-kh-line.com/neumann-kh/home_de.nsf/root/prof-monitoring_discontinued-monitors_studio-products_O98# Shipping is no problem, but I might have to ship them idependently as one of them weighs 12 kg.

    Feedback for ikay

Ian bought my old 50+ Hofner bass that had a few little issues. With a little work he put it back in complete working condition. I´m glad this bass is with you now, Ian. Thanks for the smooth deal!
  9. Hi bigsmokebass, I was referring to the classic stingray 5. This has no PU switch and 2 band EQ like the SUB 5.
  10. EUR 300 / GBP 268 This needs a bit of work, but as the electrics and finish seem to be original this will make a nice and light 60´s player. The pot codes date the bass to 1965. 3 neck pickup screws for height adjustment missing some pickguard screws missing raised plastic logo on headstock missing both pickups work, the neck pu is not as loud as the bridge pu electrics needs a check up as the pots and switches are noisy weighs only 2,99 kg EUR 300,- plus shipping. I´m in Berlin but international shipping to the expense of the buyer is no problem.
  11. Hi Deedee, there you go again... :-) GLWTS!
  12. £622 / EUR 700 I bought this just recently, but I´m struggling with active basses AND with five strings these days, so this needs to go. The US-made MM Sub was based on the idea to make a cheaper version of the classic Stingray bass. They used uncontoured bodys and textured paint so there was no need for polishing. All necks were painted black, and electronics are 2 band EQ. The important thing is, the pickup and electronics are the same as on the regular Stingray, so the sound is the same. It´s basically a Classic Stingray with a much better price tag. The Classic 5 retails for around £2,500 which makes the SUB version a bargain. The 5 string version is pretty rare, there are only a few of these around compared to the SUB 4. This is one of the few black ones, and I replaced the ugly silver pickguard with a brand new Classic Stingray one. The original aluminum PG will be included. The condition of the bass is very good, the body has no chips or scratches. The back of the neck is perfect. The frets are as new, the electronics work fine. The previous owner added an additional string tree between nut and tuners, there are two tiny holes left, almost unvisible. Please check the macro pic of the headstock. The weight is 4,7kg. I´m in Berlin, shipping is no problem.
  13. There´s a reservation on this until tuesday.
  14. The width at the nut is 43mm. The shape of the neck is D type and not very fat, so the neck plays comfortable and fast.
  15. Yes, these are great instruments. I just bought another old P so this one needs to go.
  16. GBP 600 EUR 685,- This one is rare, not many of these made it to Europe. It was a fretless with ebony fingerboard, later it was converted to a fretted bass. That´s why the side markers on the neck are rather ON the frets, not inbetween. These are amazing and underrated basses! The pickup is located at the sweet spot like on a Precision. The electronics are passive with volume, trebel and bass controls. The switch is parallel/single coil/OMG. The OMG position features a unique option, it´s single coil plus the low frequencies from the second coil. This really sounds amazing, fat and loud, many players only use this. The bass sounds like a P bass on steroids! This is an early lawsuit one, Fender sued G&L because the headstock reminded too much of a Fender and they had to change te design in late 1982. It has been played a lot, there are many sings of use, some checking on the black finish, please check the pics. The back of the neck is still perfect. There are two extra holes between pickup and bridge from a thumbrest. It´s not a lightweight, it weighs 4,5kg like an early Stingray. I´m in Berlin, shipping is no problem.
  17. I love these! I had a few of them, and they all were good. Nails the classic P tone, very well made, good pickups, Japan and Taiwan versions both have the same quality. You are right, it´s a very underrated classic. GLWTS!
  18. Thanks guys, there´s a lot of interest without any negotating, so I must have been too low on this one. :-) Anyway, I sent PMs to all of you who contacted me...
  19. A french light weight classic from the 80´s, my Vigier Passion 2. Under the bridge pickup is the exact date stamp, this bass is from the 15th September 1988. Neck: Carbon PU´s: single coil Benedetis Electronic: 1x volume 1x treble 1x Freq 1x miniswitch (Freq cut, neutral,Freq boost) 1 x PU Selector switch Schaller bridge, tuners and security locks. The colour seems to be unique, at least I have never seen another Vigier in greenburst, while the blueburst finish is almost a standard on these. Amazingly well made, the graphite neck reaches deep into the body up to the pickups. It features Vigier´s active 18V electronics with parametric mids option, and the two fat single coil pickups are strong even in neutral mode. The tone is fat and extremely versatile, the sustain holds on forever. To me it sounds like a Jazz Bass on steroids. The neck is slim and very fast. The frets are in very good condition. The bass is overall in well played good condition, there are some dings and scratches in the finish. Some of the clear coat finish over the silver logo on the headstock has flaked off, I think ist shows on the pics. The important thing for me is the back of the neck, and this is still flawless. The weight is amazing, it´s only 3480 grams. With a strap the balance is perfect, no neck diving on this one. Here´s a nice and very groovy video of a Passion 2 on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih6yMZRbRvY I´m in Berlin, shipping is no problem.
  20. The classic replacement for the fender bass bridge. I´m in Berlin, shipping is no problem.
  21. I just found one of these over here in Germany. These are fine basses, and I prefer the classic look a lot to the different shaped Stingray 5. Not many of these around, and white looks even better than my black one! GLWTS !
