1. I just sold my 79 MM Stingray inca silver to Nicolai. He was very friendly and reliable all the way through, he even organized shipping from his end as he was getting a better rate with UPS as I was here in Germany. :-) Thanks for the smooth deal, Nicola, and have fun with this nice vintage sting!
2. There´s no real interest here, so I listed it on ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/381974124360?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
3. Most of you might not know Oliver Lang, here´s the link... he´s coming to the UK soon. :-) http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com/exhibitors/oliver-lang/ http://www.oliverlang-instruments.com/index2.html
4. EUR 800 / BP 690 This bass was ordered in 2013 as a hand made mid scale drop D bass from german luthier and bass specialist Oliver Lang. Exactly this bass was covered in a test in german magazine bass quarterly. There´s also a video of this bass: https://www.youtube....h?v=kFr62KP6T6o The neck is as fat as my late 60s Precision bass. The tone is fat and rich with endless sustain. The pickup shows it has Music Man genes. The electrics are passive, but this bass is as loud as my active old Stingray. It has a push/pull knob for switching the pickup between parallel/series. Of course you don´t have to play it in drop D, it works perfectly tuned in E. But when you drop the tuning to D or even C, it´s amazing how fat this one sounds. The scale length just adds to the comfort and playability, I never had problems switching between this bass and my long scales. And with this fat tone, it only weighs 3,2kg and is perfectly balanced, no neck dive at all! The condition is almost perfect, front, back and the neck are 100%, one black miniscrew for the trussrod cover is missing. More details: -Top flamed maple, fretboard birdseye maple -Mid Scale length 32,8 -Puristic design with passive electrics -Push/pull knob for switching parallel/series -Jumbofrets -String spacing 19mm brige -39mm at the nut -Golden hardware -Price new was EUR 2.350,- The bass comes with original softcase and the magazine Bass Quarterly 4/2013 signed by Oliver. I´m in Berlin, shipping is no problem. 5. No one dares to go at it? As Happy Jack said, it shouldn´t be too complicated to get it fixed!
6. Hi There, it´s 39mm, so about halfway between Jazz and P bass. Thanks
7. Thanks, Skybone! For trades... I´m only interested in vintage Fender.
8. GBP 700 / EUR 820 This vintage Kramer is from 1980 which was the first year of production of the XL line. It´s in very good condition, no real dings and dongs, only very minor scratches that could be buffed out. The back is perfect with no signs of belt wear. This bass eems unmolested and all original, only the miniscrews for the electrics back plate might not be original, and the two screws on the E-string bridge saddle have been replaced. The body is maple with walnut strips, the alu neck has maple inserts. It´s 24 fret, 2-octave ebonol fretboard. The neck is straight and has no issues, the frets are still very good. The electrics are a pair of Dimarzio high output humbucker pickups controlled by a 3-way switch, coil tap switches for each pickup and two volume and two tone controls. It´s passive, but as loud as my active old stingray. The sound is funky and fat, and with the two pickups you have some nice sound options even when you leave out the coil tap switches which don´t make a lot of sense for me. It has Schaller tuning machines and Leo Quan BadAss bridge. The two screws on the E-string bridge saddle have been replaced. The neck aluminum neck with a couple of wood inserts is slim and fast and provides maximum sustain. It doesn´t feel cold as you mostly touch wood. The bass comes with the original Kramer brown case. I´m in Berlin, but shipping is no problem. 9. Hi Happy Jack, thanks for your expertise. :-) The control knobs are the original old ones, the tops have the faded gold colour and the metal is worn. If anyone needs it I could add a close up shot of them.
10. GBP 780 / EUR 900 A genuine German vintage Höfner from the middle of the era of some of The Beatles most innovative recordings. All details like the bound fingerboard, small pickup frames, small control plate, raised Höfner logo indicate this is the rare 1964 version. In 1965 they already had the large version pickup frames. There are a few issues with this one: The neck definitely needs a reset, it´s currently not playable. This is a common problem with the 500/1 basses. Also the electrics are dead, there´s nothing coming out at the output. There´s no pickguard (like on McCartney´s bass). And a small piece of plastic is missing from the area where the neck joins the body. I will add many pics of the bass so you will see what it really is. You can right-click the pics to see them in high definition. I wanted to make this a nice project, but I don´t have the time and also I´m not able to fix the neck reset on my own. I think this is something a real luthier should do. The bass comes with an extra original Höfner replacement ebony bridge, as the height adjustment screws on the old one are missing. I´m in Berlin, but shipping is no problem.
