Hi, Would you be interested in an as new Rocktron Blue Thunder, nice light "no amp " option ?
interesting offer - I'm just off to get some further info on the unit - I guess by your location I would need to check out shipping options for the speakers too? I have to say due to the circumstances I would have to give preference to someone who could collect them. anyways will check out the blue thunder & come back to you.

ok here is the background; these came from an old bassman 215, I had them in individual homemade cabs but decided to put them back in a 215 - then I had emergency hernia operation in september!! Initially decided to keep them as spares for my trace 115 but have just discovered hernia is back and I'm going to need further surgery so I need to go lightweight if I am going to keep playing. These speakers are rated at 150w 8ohm. I'll take a few pics tomorrow evening and add them to this thread if anyone wants to see them? I no longer have any of the aforementioned cabs but the speakers are currentl attached to front boards from the last cabs with 15" grills to protect whilst awaiting next cab. For obvious reasons I am desperate to lighten my rig (but have zero cash at the moment) but I am open to all suggestions of possible trades of any bass related items. thanks for looking. juice
If the cabs are identical (bar the impedance) and the amps have identical frequency response, distortion and power output then the output will be identical. However I've yet to come across a loudspeaker where the 4 and 8 ohm versions have absolutely identical performance, let alone getting everything else to match!
Thanks alex, i guessed that it is impossible to test the theory really and i'm not really sure why the question kept spinning roud my head. these things do niggle without an answer though dont they!

I apologise now if I am repeating something already covered, but as I can't find the answer I thought I would post my question anyway.... I understand the combination of ohm rating in different wiring combinations and the effect on the amps power output. I also believe the more air you shift in total the 'louder' the rig (if power/ohm matched efficiently). But does anyone know if a 400w 8ohm amp into 500w 8ohm 4x10 cab produces more or less db than a theoretically identical 4ohm rig; i.e. 400w 4ohm amp into 500w 4ohm 4x10 cab? My grey matter can't decided the outcome ! - thanks for any comments. Juice

photos as promised.... two imperfections to note: 1. tiny chip on body 2. mark in rosewood near nut (fault present from new) I may consider bass/amp/effect related Px's or straight trades (but don't tell Mrs Juice) - cash buyers will be given priority. -
hi all, I love this guitar but it's just sitting in its hard case day after day and due to a lack of cashflow at the moment I have decided to sell my Washburn D10 CEB.... Spec: A spruce top; mahogany back, sides, and neck; and a rosewood fingerboard, plus a single cutaway design and an Equis Silver pre-amp for plugging in and fine-tuning your electric sound. Includes limited lifetime warranty. the guitar has a balanced di out and jack socket on the body so you can run clean di direct to the desk & a separate line to your backline. I found this meant I could run it through my bass rig as backline without colouring the foh sound. This is fantastic if you only play a couple of acoustic numbers a night and the rest is good old bass playing. when I bought this I a/b'd it against a £500 Yamaha and a £900 ovation and it blew the away acoustically but even more so amped. I would say the sound is deep round slightly gritty and very resonant. There is no surprise that this model was voted best sub $500 acoustic when I bought it. looking for £170 * now £150 inc. Hardcase*. - Please do not confuse this model with the new budget version on the market today they are very different animals. local pickup preferred but will ship in UK via City link at buyers cost (will confirm actual cost on receipt of firm offer). reviews of this USA version can be found here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Was...tric?sku=515325 Off to charge up camera now & will add photos tomorrow evening...
