1. I'm sorely tempted but can't afford! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253072183358
2. She's a beaut - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222594626188
3.
I've blown chunks

Most obliging, I hope chunks enjoyed it.
4. Your GAS attack may rear it's head again in a few months if I decide to sell mine...
5.
Octave down. It's great fun to play Stevie Wonder lines up the dusty end with a sub octave. Try it, you might like it.
Ah...I'll have to get me a fretless first! I'm currently GASing for an Ibanez SRF Portamento 5-string...
6. The MP75 is one of the best dynamic mics I've ever used. Whether you intend to use it with "mic control" enabled TC Helicon gear or not, it's a solid investment. Kills most others in its price range (and above) for clarity. GLWTS!
7. Out of interest, for those suggesting octavers on fretless, do you mean specifically octave down or octave up?
8. Seems to have sold. How/why was it coming down in price so rapidly?
9. I'd love to be there but I'm on my theatre gig til mid October sadly. Presumably there will be pictures/videos of the day?
10. Only problem I can see is that I assume the Monitor Input will be expecting line level, so you'll probably have to boost your bass signal beforehand? If you have a preamp/DI then just use the XLR out from that into the mic input and it should do the business I reckon
11. If you're willing to buy used, £1300 will go a very very long way IME. The world is pretty much your oyster with that budget.
12. Personally I wouldn't take big risks with pedalboard power. I'd always prefer to be safe in the knowledge that I have "headroom" as far as the current that my power supply can provide. The last thing I want is pedals shutting down of their own accord or behaving oddly in a live situation.
13. Ah, that's good. If I had to choose, I'd much prefer to have rigidity in the front and back than the much thinner sidewalls.
14. Does this Protection Racket bag have any rigidity to it? Clearly the front "door" is able to flop down indicating the answer is probably no, but is there much stiffness to the sidewalls?
15.
You should be fine, but if you have problems try using a gigrig isolator (still powered by the 1spot).
+1. It's difficult to predict whether you'll have any noise until you actually connect up the pedals and turn them on! Power hungry digital pedals can often be a noise culprit but it looks like you aren't planning on using anything like that at the moment so you should be ok. If not, Elephantgrey's advice above re: a gigrig Isolator is solid. Also, you probably already know this but when you activate an overdrive/distortion/fuzz there will be some degree of hiss...it's just the nature of the effect but not a problem once you start playing and it goes away when you switch the pedal off. Not to be confused with electrical noise!
16.
Crikey, bargain right there
Fully agree. I can't see it hanging around too long at this price!
17. Pictures don't seem to be showing up?
18. This is by no means a definitive order, but my chain usually goes something like Tuner > Compressor > Octavers > Envelope Filter > Overdrive/Distortion/Fuzz > Chorus > (any other weird stuff) > Delay > Reverb. That's a fairly standard order. There's no real right or wrong though so experiment with switching things around - the worst that can happen is it sounds bad
19. So I've had my THR10 for a few days now and am really enjoying it. Yamaha have marketed it perfectly by calling it the "third amp". You won't be getting any heft or wall shaking SPL but putting a bass through it sounds like bass. I'm using it for what it was intended for - low volume practice - and for that it excels. I've found playing quietly through it at night with flatmates sleeping in nearby rooms is a more enjoyable experience than playing through headphones which can feel a bit disconnected. Though headphones will still be king for use with my pedalboard, especially since I'm a heavy octave pedal user. But if I was going to be bringing the THR somewhere with me I wouldn't bring a pedalboard anyway as there are enough effects on board to satisfy. Not obsessing over pedals and just concentrating on a nice basic bass sound has already meant that I've focused on actually PLAYING BASS over the past few days. That in itself is a huge plus and makes it worth keeping! Playing music through the Aux input is perfect for bass practice as the sound of playback isn't very bass heavy at all. Mids and highs are nice and overall it has quite a "wide" sound if that makes any sense. It's like it's deliberately leaving me sonic space for playing along with my bass. For pure music playback though, I'll be sticking with my trusty Bose Soundlink Mini. I'll keep that little magic box until my dying day. In summary, the THR10 wasn't an absolutely necessary purchase as I have other practice solutions which can cover similar ground. However nothing I have does it quite as elegantly, or in as neat a package, as the THR10.
20. Oh dear, that's no good for me then. It's a shame as the Mono sleeves are great looking but on a practical level that is pretty disastrous. You'd think they would have tested for that, especially given how much the Monos cost!

DI Box

Well the SB1 is phantom powered...will you have guaranteed access to phantom power in all the situations you'll be using it? If so then go for it. How long a distance do you usually have to cover from the DI box to mixer/interface? If you're having to cover really long distances then the active SB1 is the better choice but if your cable runs won't be that long then you have very little to lose by going for the passive SB2.
22. I know sweet FA about the Magellan 800 but if your dealer has as good a returns policy as you say they have then you should have nothing to lose. Trying it out with your own cabs in your own environment will always be better than trying it out in store with an unfamiliar room and unfamiliar basses. Do it!
23. Hmmm...as an owner of a couple of angled headstock basses, that alone is enough in favour of the Protection Racket. Why is it that the Mono doesn't work so well with angled headstocks? Is it just that it doesn't have any raised support for the neck?
24.
I have the more bulky version and indeed, the bulk is a drawback - but it's the only drawback. It's a superb gig bag if the bulk doesn't matter.
+1. All my basses, electric and acoustic, are cased in Protection Racket cases and I've never once doubted their durability. This new one may have to be next on the shopping list. Now I just need a new bass to put inside it...
