  1. Having for decades struggled with gear that felt like somebody had nailed it to the floor at the end of a gig, these are the routes that I have taken, firstly I tried out the three l'weight options that were available in this part of the world, markbass,pj &gk,finaly settled on the gallien krueger mb150s,gives a good core sound & will hold its own on small pub gigs, for larger gigs I now link this in one of two ways to my old trace blx combo, plan a is to use the trace speaker as an ext cab or plan b,run from the gk line out to the effects return of the trace (this method bypasses the trace pre amp section & feeds direct into its power amp side).I am currently loking for a 15" powered monitor that I can use instead of the blx to shift more air & increase the low end.If you have an active bass the output should also be sufficient to drive a powered monitor on its own.I would keep your PJ & use it to feed something else in the same manner, powered ext spkr is definately the way to go if you want to keep it light, simple & if your lucky, cheap, all the best, mike .
  2. Finaly decided to part with this as I haven't used it since aquiring the warwick,42mm nut width is just a little too wide for my stubby arthritic digits,I believe origional owner had status upgrade the actives to type 701 circuit (see status website for full spec) & kept the bass as a spare, second owner only had it for a few months (couldn't get on with headlessness),I have cherished it ever since,my antiquated digi camera hasn't really done this justice, the neck is like new,the body is in black with a metalic grey fleck in the finish, there are a couple of laquer cracks in the neck pocket, see photo, original hardcase is in good condition.Collection only as I would wan't any buyer to to see & try it before parting with their cash.Low serial number 19- ,haven't seen a 4000 for sale for some time so I think £650 is about right given the condition, only thing I would consider in a trade would be an overwater 4,fretted or f'less with cash either way, must get round to painting my shed, mike b. 9. I'll consider any narrow neck bass (no 5 or 6's though) as a trade with cash either way on this,it's too good an instrument to be gathering dust ,it needs a new home, mike b.

  13. Hello, recently I have searched long & hard for a fretless 4 & during the past weeks I have been fortunate to place my hands on the likes of Zon,Pedulla,Warwick & Fender, but rather than boost the American or European economies I suggest you contact Chris or Laurence at Overwater (email or phone) which is the route that I finaly took & in my case was fortunate to purchase a used Progress fretless that they had in stock,it arrived this morning & it is truly stunning.Out of all the instruments that I have played this is far & away the best use of my hard earned cash, good luck in your quest, mike b.

Its also in much better condition than my shed, the lighter markings that show in the body are patterns in the grain & not scuffs or scratches, Now only £315 ,how cheap is this !!!
