  1. I'd be tempted to remove the scratchplate on that, reckon it would look complete the look.
  2. Kenny's music have some good deals on Corts, this GB75-JJ with an Ampeg BA108 setup for £399. The basses are usually in the £450-£530 range and the amp is £99 on its own so looks like a very good deal for a starter setup: https://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/cort-gb75-jj-5-string-bass-guitar-aqua-blue?source=googleps&gclid=CjwKCAiA5IL-BRAzEiwA0lcWYseqoAZJJ0uUc01nekju8jSzMgTuWHNptjd0aVSYjIBMyR8OT1fy7hoCHGIQAvD_BwE 4 String version for £349: https://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/cort-gb74-jj-bass-guitar-aqua-blue B-Stock bass only for £299: https://www.kennysmusic.co.uk/cort-gb74jj-4-string-active-bass-amber-b-stock Kytary have the 5 string basses for £363, JJ and JH versions: https://kytary.co.uk/cort-gb75-jj-ab/HN170388/?gclid=CjwKCAiA5IL-BRAzEiwA0lcWYngNgb3Hs4qCbDHw2DmMCH0TWRvl1ALpySyGbDo8ee5VZoibtW2XixoCMi8QAvD_BwE https://kytary.co.uk/cort-gb75-jh-tr/HN170384/?gclid=CjwKCAiA5IL-BRAzEiwA0lcWYhQ2mb0CPgeDiJrbVX-l6kMJY0U48I-9XQ1HMegWyq60yNYslh1MwRoCgJMQAvD_BwE
  3. This thread went weird 🤣
  4. The pedal is for live use, the Fishman Platinum Pro which was £230 when I bought it years ago. The amp head is a TC BH250 and is just for playing at home through a little EA 110 cab, picked it up with the 3 switch pedal for £120 and sold the pedal for £30. Even new the amp is cheaper at £185 and the BQ version even more so at £155.
  5. Regardless of cost I think people were pretty excited about the BF amp so I can see why they are disappointed. I'm not bothered either way as I won't be buying either. Besides, I own 1 amp and 1 pedal, the amp was £90 and the pedal was £230!
  6. Yeah I'm not doubting that, just that previous hints at an amp head in development coupled with teaser photos showing a volume knob on a brushed chrome surface will have got people excited about the release of an amp. Kind of an unintentional bait and switch, we'd all rather have a new amp than a pedal right?
  7. It's probably going to be an extremely good product, you would expect so with it being an expensive pedal made by Cog. However when a company that makes active/passive bass cabs releases teaser photos showing an old school knob on a brushed metal chassis most people are going to assume it's some sort of bass amp, not a drive pedal made by an entirely different company. The downside of having a dedicated and sometimes feverish fanbase is that they don't like being let down.
  8. I loved the EHX Stereo Electric Mistress, in fact I sold it due to not gigging fretless but then immediately had to buy another! Just use the Toneprint chorus on my amp now since getting rid of my board, kinda gets part of the way there but not as natural sounding as the EHX.

    1spot supply

Rather than have a long daisy chain for just 3 pedals look for CCTV cables, you can get 3 way ones (and others) to make your board a little bit neater. Something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-BLACK-CABLE-LV-POWER-SPLITTER-2-1MM-1-x-FEMALE-IN-3-x-RIGHT-ANGLE-MALE-OUT/321915388318?hash=item4af3a7019e:g:wO4AAOSwT5tWP3uO Used these cables with single power supplies (Dunlop and TC FWIW) on mini 2/3 pedal boards for years with no issues.
  10. Hanchang tuners: http://www.hctuner.com They make licensed parts for Hipshot etc but these are probably just generic copies.
  11. This is my current fretless, just made from cheap (at the time) bits - Cort MIK body, Mighty Mite neck, Duncan Designed pups, Fishman piezo bridge, Bartolini buffer pre, and Wilkinson tuners. Before this I had a beautiful walnut/pau ferro Warmoth jazz build which I bought and sold for ~£350, prices are considerably higher these days!
  12. Ran electric 5 string bass, acoustic fretless and guitar through my QSC, via a Fishman Platinum Pro, just reproduced what went in really. I imagine it would be fantastic for upright, the QSC K series have various presets and you can change the eq settings via the jog wheel and screen on the back. They also have handy input options to switch between mic, line and Hi-z inputs. This is one of the main benefits IMO, having a compact, loud and powerful wedge monitor was a godsend for me. Solved a lot of the problems associated with unpredictable stage layouts regardless of the FRFR aspect. I was using the Markbass Club series before this which can be tilted but the small footprint of the QSC gave me even more versatility in terms of where I could put the cab. Could easily fit between the legs of out light stands so basically took up no space and could be pointed directly at my ears.
  13. I'll be honest, I don't think it requires that much analysis. He's done enough of these slips and has made his far right leanings clear enough to just take it at face value - "everyone ultimately prefers their own race" is just him describing himself. The reason he attributes this to everyone is because he has spent the last few decades surrounding himself with yes men and sycophants who feed his ego and assure him that his views are held by everyone, he can never be wrong. You can seek familiarity in a wide variety of commonalities (social standing, political views etc) however Morrisey explicitly selects race. That's the big tell I think. I agree he does like the sound of his own voice, something which is quite surprising when his voice sounds like... well... that. I'm not sure who his audience even is any more - he appears to only tolerate vegan right w(h)ingers with a preference for white nationalism, I might be wrong but I can't see a lot of record sales coming from that demographic.
  14. Nah that was his last live booking wasn't it?
  15. From the article: "Everyone ultimately prefers their own race – does this make everyone racist?” I love it when bigots out themselves without even realising it, what a plank.
  16. I also have the Basslite S2010 in a little 1x10 cab, an EA CXL110 in this case. Less volume than the Deltalite that was previously in it but a far more even sound and still surprisingly loud.
  17. Spotted the TC Bam200 for £106 on Muziker this morning, doesn't get much smaller or cheaper than that: https://www.muziker.co.uk/tc-electronic-bam200?gclid=Cj0KCQiA48j9BRC-ARIsAMQu3WQ-1LfyfJB4NNfFWL8oriB2RzLyqhFsDYc95W9GvY4lQGNSKXtnRJgaAtpmEALw_wcB Also worth looking for a used BH250 if you need compression or drive, can be had for around £100.
  18. Just spotted it on FB, seller admits it's a copy here: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/664034974500426/
  19. Ashdown were repairing Superfly heads for free as recently as 2017 after years of bad press, worth giving them a shout.
  20. Those old Traces are rack mountable aren't they? Would be easier to transport in a 2u rack bag, especially if it's currently in a a wooden case.
  21. The Andy Baxter bass is still up on Reverb, maybe they have marked it sold on their site due to lockdown? Incidentally Reverb list selling estimates for a '58 between £6.5k and £11.5k so the eBay bass is at the lower end of the scale. Tbh if I came into possession of that bass then I'd be looking to milk the ridiculous vintage Fender market for as much as possible too, no point giving a couple of grand away for no reason.
  22. Seems quite an honest description to me, can't really fault the seller for listing everything that might put buyers off. It's a 60yr old working instrument at the end of the day and has had some work done to keep it going, could do with more pictures but I assume anybody spending £7k on a bass is going to be checking it out first.
  23. Because the logo is stylised and probably meant to be flipped and read the same as normal (an ambigram as previously described) it could be IM, IML, WI, WL, INI or INL depending on how you interpret it. Not that it make any difference here of course! Any frontal shots?
  24. Can only find IML as Instruments de Musique de Lyon, a French importer of Japanese guitars associated with the Eagle branding so seems like they would use that rather than IML. http://vintagestagg.altervista.org/907/index.html Looks like they did a P Bass copy but no other pictures, probably not linked.
  25. I used one of those Ikea stands with a Markbass LMII tilted back about 45 degrees on a Club 121 cab so it shouldn't be a problem. They're 42cm wide though so you may need to trim it for a 1x10. EDIT the Ikea tray is 42cm(W) x 31cm(D) and the Trace 110 is apparently 31cm(W) x 36cm(D) so you would have to trim the width.
