  1. Yeah she's here, also picked up a Blackstar Beam from someone on here - getting some lovely sounds and having fun learning some of my favourite songs. Going to look into online tuition courses or a rough order of what to learn and google how to do those things. So far having a great time with it.
  2. Lets not forget the work Andy did to mine - the build thread is somewhere. That bass started as one of these Bentons.
  3. well I managed to bag a B stock one for just over £100. Surely can't go wrong with that?
  4. ordered me a Harley Benton TE52 should be here by next weekend. Happy days
  5. A little bit overkill for my needs really. I'll have a look at the Yamaha thing - any ideas how much a used one goes for?
  6. Hi all, So here's the quandry. I currently do not have space in my room for both a bass amp and a guitar amp, but need both. I also want to put a desk in the room somewhere to work from while I am at uni. This leaves me with basically no space. So, does anyone know of any amps small enough to sit on or under a desk that sound decent enough to practice at home with using either/both a guitar and bass? Also, being a student, the cheaper the better. Cheers,
  7. well I set myself a budget of £200 for everything so take the guitar out of that and its about £75 ish
  8. Speaking of the TBird, just sold on EBay for more than I had it listed here 😅 Will order in the next few days - will leave this thread open for suggestions of Multi-FX, Amps or even other guitars. At the minute, either the Harley Benton TE-52, TE-70 Paisley or TE-80 Prince copy are the choices.
  9. I hadn't looked at these before, but considering the better hardware and pickups over the TE30 I think it might be worth a punt. Will order as soon as my Epiphone Thunderbird sells...
  10. I got the chance yesterday to play both the Heavily modded Telecaster that started all of this as well as one of the Harley Benton TE-30s (albeit that had been modded up too). The TE30 was outstanding. I know it had lots of work done to it, but for £90 or so delivered to your door, I am strongly considering it above the Les Paul SL - which is sold out pretty much everywhere and is more expensive when you consider delivery costs etc.
  11. Sledgehammer with Peter Gabriel was my first thought. I'm such a weird not-quite-20 year old 😅 Either that or Mr Blue Sky with all of ELO. That would be pretty special as a Bluenose.
  12. Mr Squier Tele hasn't replied yet so i think it's back to the drawing board. I'm hearing lots of good things about the Epiphone Les Paul SL, which can be had for £90 or so. From what I've read they sound great and come well set up from the factory, the only issue being the cheapish tuners (although I can't imagine it being too expensive to drop in decent cheapo ones). Anyone have one or seen reviews of them? At the minute it's a frontrunner, especially as it leaves me a few quid to get an amp (looking at Fender modelling amps or Boss Katana).
  13. That actually looks perfect - Tele, maple board, nice white colour. I know the Classic Vibe range are all great. I might send him a lowball offer and see what I can do.
  14. It was about this time last year I bought my first electric guitar - a squier affinity strat. It was about 6 weeks after that that I part exed it for a P Bass. I couldn't get on with the pointy frets, the sharp strings or the weedy sound, so gave up. I have recently been tempted to start again. One of my friends bought a nice, albeit very expensive, telecaster and I have to say even I can get a good tune from it - easy as you like to play. Putting the failed strat experience down to just the wrong guitar, I am looking at starting again. I have a budget of around £200 for EVERYTHING I need to get me started - preferably a squier telecaster (or Harley Benton or other copy) and a little amp. I had my eyes on the Harley Benton Paisley Tele copy, as well as a few others. Any recommendations from you good people?
  15. My thoughts exactly. Looks like a stunner
  16. Nitro can be a pain in the backside with properly ventilating and drying or so I've heard. Anything I've ever made from wood (albeit money boxes and a small set of drawers in woodwork at school) have all been dyed and oiled - piece of proverbial piddle.
  17. Need to get this shifted ASAP so will accept any reasonable offers...
  18. Want to get this shifted in the next week or so, so will accept any reasonable offers to collect.
  19. very tempted to go but no one to go with Anyone from Birmingham fancy making the trip down with me?
  20. It's finally done!?!? I'm looking forward to seeing that 👍🏻
