still at this price on G4M so I've bought one as part of my pedal board overhaul will replace my Tone City Angel Wing (guitar chorus). Hope its as good as the reviews, but at the price it's hardly a big loss 😅

on the topic of the Rumble's Overdrive, does anyone know what footswitch it is that works for it? All the ones I've seen some people say do work and some people say it doesn't.

Gorgeous bit of kit that. I love my Epi T-Bird now I've started using it with a bit of compression and subtle overdrive. Happy NBD!!!

Delighted to hear it Mike. All I can say is welcome to the "Andy built me my favourite bass" club. Take a pew between me and TheGreek, gelfin has that whole side of the table incase he pokes out our eyes with the Mouradian-esque

Blasphemy!!! I'll get a tesco cake and pass it off as my own work if needs be. -
Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone has seen any good deals on Elixir Nanoweb steels (or similar long-lasting steels) recently? A few of my basses are due new strings and I've took a fondness to steels as of late, but the Rotos I use tend to not last too long. Cheers

I believe that's the case with most Thomann basses - or maybe just Sires and Harley Bentons. Either way, of the 3 basses and 1 guitar I've had from Thomann, they've all had D'adds

So differences I can see to a V7 : - Mahogany body instead of alder/ash - 20 frets instead of 24 - string through bridge instead of through body - different bridge because of this - Marcus standard jazz pickups instead of Marcus super jazz - dotted board instead of block and bound - a fair chunk cheaper

Just when I was looking for a cheap beater to take to Uni with me too.

Loved it last year, will be there again this year. Hopefully will have a few new pieces of gear to bring, and may bring the big amp too as it sat at home last year. Lets be honest though, we're all looking forward to the cake the most. Anyone in/around Castle Bromwich/ North or East Birmingham that needs a lift I am happy to pick up on the way. So long as your gear fits in the Fiesta. -
That thought combined with the "ask Andy to do XYZ" thought is a dangerous combination...

yeah I agree to be fair. I think for me either the Psilos or Gelfins Mouradian. Psilos for workmanship (although there is incredible workmanship on the Mouradian) but the finished Mouradian is a bass I could see myself playing. It's a coinflip between them.

Trying to work out which FB profile Bassassin is...

If I remember correctly I had a little play on this at the Midlands Bass Bash and can remember saying just how pretty it was. The top is even better in person.

Copy and pasted my own text from the FB page. I won't name names. "I have the option of buying either a Shaftesbury in very good nick or for half the price an Indie IRK in unknown condition. Anyone with any advice of what to go for? I'm in a quandry as I am thinking the half price Indie gives me money to upgrade, but whether I can make it to the standard of the Shafty with that £200 is another question, especially as I don't know what condition the Indie is in."
-
Anyone have any knowledge of Indie branded fakers? Theres one going for a VERY tempting price on tinterwebs.

I suppose good rule of thumb is look at what bassists you like and what you want to sound like, then look at what basses they use, then look at trying to get similar. If you are transitioning from guitar, you might even find it beneficial to look at anything with a thinner neck and/or a shorter scale.

Better tell Ashcroft then. Turns out the drugs do work 😅

To this day I still don't know how your bass actually worked. Andy used the force or something.
-
Aye, it is actually lying on my bed next to while I try and figure out which wall hanger to put it on. I've spent the evening arranging and then rearranging a few basses to make the room look less empty - I've sold some stuff recently so there's a lot of empty space on the walls at the moment.

Well I have my own horse in this race, so please excuse the bias.

I can't recommend Andy highly enough for things like this - knocked it out of the park for my "Not-a-Harley-Benton-Any-More" Jazz bass and looks like he's done it once again here. Wish you all the best with it Mike, if it's even half as good as it looks it will be an incredible instrument. Here comes the "I'm gonna ask Andy to do XYZ for me" thoughts again *sigh*

Shameless self promotion I know, but I have an Ashdown 75w amp available on the marketplace here. If you want to come to North Birmingham and have a go then you're more than welcome to.

Glad to hear you're enjoying them mate 😊 On the topic I think I'm going to get a PJ or new JJ set in a few months to go into what will be my bass for Uni - cheap enough to fit in with student budgets but plenty good enough for if I get into a band there (which I plan to do). Long and short, if it wasn't for me getting an amazing deal on the super hot Duncans (SJB-2s I think?) in my signature red Jazz bass, it would still have the JBXNs. The best (at least for me) set of J Bass pickups I have heard that you can get for under £100 for the set.
