1. I love a big pedal, that GlouGlou plain kills it!
2. I agree with Musicman20, they are definitely missing a big big trick with their stuff, the clean amp is rather good, and a good EQ, but we never hear it. I really liked the clean EQ, but too many nobbles for me to tinker, and i wasn't using the distortion which to my ears still does not quite sit together with the clean sound, there is a slight separation rather than a pure parallel. Anyway, they rally need to advertise the clean more, or it may have made more sense to bring out just a clean version of the amp with no distortion circuit, then you don't need the pedal they don't provide with the amp.........
3. Oh i dunno either way, but recently i got an amp with a Gator carry case thrown in (think it is about the same quality but less expensive if buying alone) and 2 power cables, Canare guitar lead, couple of T shirts for no more than the actual amp price...........
4. get a second SC or a BB2 and combine!
5.
True. I was more referring to the pricing of the rest of the DG gear. I thought someone mentioned the amp went up in price.
The price hike was on Andertons. Before the release of M500 the M900 was £795 (release price about £900) The minute M500 is released at £725, the M900 goes back up again to about £900. That alone is a bit naughty. The sterling/euro/dollar thing annoys me, it’s probably not their fault though, but placing the it same price in Dollars as Sterling does adversely affect us. It’s a little more sour if it is true (and Doug said this on a video on his feed on instagram) that the Cab is made in the UK. The most expensive place to buy the cab, is the country it is made in...... Anyways, I think we will politely disagree on the value for money on these, and as everyone says a product is only worth what you are prepared to spend on it, I may give it a go when it’s half price second or third hand.....
6. So you have tested them in the wild, and they are not great. Thanks for that, I know it’s one persons opinion Wolverine, but I know from our conversations we have similar thoughts.
7. http://www.palmer-germany.com/mi/en/POCKET-AMP-MK-2-Portable-Guitar-Preamp-PEPAMPMKII.htm Palmer pocket amp is a great bit of kit for the price. Also the sennheiser and PJB headphones whilst close are not the same just re-badged, there are some differences sonically which make it better for bass guitar
8.
Personally I think I'll just pick up a couple of heavy old 80s Peavey cabs and re-cover them in carbon fibre effect tolex to achieve the same effect. Should be able to get a nice pair of 410s they way for a couple of hundred quid with change.
Dont forget a spray can for the space age grill effect and some glitter, and then fairy dust for the crossover circuit

So that video is a super midget and a big baby...?
10. Brilliant and congrats on this, that amp has a lovely Cab to be paired with. No doubt it will be a winning combination. Look forward to loud sound review
11. Cameron I rather like that analogy, nicely put. He has taken the time to eloquently put down a lot of feelings, which are justified and done it better than I did. The amp we know and we can comment on. The AO pedal, do a big one and then do a small one just after everyone has bought a big one..........hmmmm The speakers, everyone has said that they would eat humble pie IF it blows similarly specd cabs out the park. We all recognise there is a business behind things and no one is wishing DG falls flat on its face, but there is legitimacy behind what we say as consumers, because of there is a slow incremental hike across the board then we are the ones getting hammered
12. Nah its not moaning, it’s realistic. Price point aside, you release 1 amp, it drops in price new in the first year, you then release a second amp with less juice at the same price practically as the original and hike the price of the old amp back up? That’s a bit naughty
13. I found TI flats a bit floppy, if you do get some careful tensioning them as you fit them in the bass, I snapped the internal core of one doing this - doh! I used Labella Deep talking bass black tape wounds, quite liked them. Friend of mine really swears by the Labella White tape wounds, I trust him. I’ve gone off GHS, had boomers nice to start, die pretty quick
14. Had an MXR and Darkglass SS Now settled and happy with a Massive Cali76G, I would love to get hold of a Cali76 TX-L, but that Effectrode looks mighty fine. For me tho, the Cali76G is sublime
15. Welcome to the endless world of pedal fiddling and the real fun is now you are close to getting a nailed tone with the Two Notes, how can drive before your myriad of envelope filters work!
16. Well as you know Mr Krow I have a Hartke VXL and Cali76G before the Two Notes, so yes I am punching a lot into it from my passive basses. Works well having everything on with a jazz bass, less so with my P bass, I chose one or t’other either side of the Cali76G
17. That’s the spirit, can’t wait to hear, i am a big two Notes fan
18. Danny - you have quicker fingers than me! That’s why I use a pick.....
19. Al I think Alex is saying if you want that type of sound described then the BB2 with its 12” speaker provides that sonically. If you want a coloured sound that the BF 2x10 produces then get a 2x10 or a modular One10 or any combination etc. I think it’s a situation of, forget speaker cone size, just take the sound and air it pushes on its merit and that is the right one for you, from a starting position of what “type” of sound you like. That’s my interpretation, happy to be wrong....
20. Don’t I do unless I need a DI and I have a Two Notes last
21.
I've seen Glenn a few times now (once with a Vigier through a Hughes & Kettner rig and the other times a Jazz through an SVT) and his sound has always been great. The sound of this Orange rig just seems to have a magical something extra to my ears though.
Couldn’t agree more, he is defo getting better with age and what a voice to boot
22. Painy- I heard that rig live when Glenn was on tour, end even with his crappy bitsa Nash bass it sounded absolutely immense. If you like that sound in the videos you will love it live, seeing him play and listening to him changed a lot of my thoughts on sound and gear etc (I don’t have orange stuff myself BTW) and was a real changer for me. Hope you get to your goal
23. I have a Hartke HD25 also, and It is pretty decent, I am sure upping the wattage will get you loud enough, and they are comparative peanuts in price
24. Ok. I may be wrong in my thinking but run the B channel alone on the Two Notes and send your clean signal through another path to blend them at the final destination? So it’s still a split signal but not relying on the Two Notes doing it for you I may have my channels crossed tho....
25. Do you reckon you could get close with your Two Notes? I am watching eagerly for myself as i May experiment...
