  1. @Al Krow accept apologies..., take the drive bit out my post and it's more representative
  2. @Kev I am going to sit on the fence and see both sides of the argument, as both are valid. @Wolverinebass simply pointed out that the multiFx units like Line6, Fractal AX8, Boss has a new one at NAMM are not far off in price to 1 pedal and you get a load more, including the sound of a similar pedal (no doubt an AO patch will become available). There is nothing wrong in that, you are a seasoned player, know what you want, and will get it to use it how you want. There may be people newer to effects than you who stumble across the forum and thread and some balance to show them opportunities out there is justified. You could take it further and say why not spend the same money on a Genzler 350 Magellan which has one of the best drive channels out there, AND is an amplifier which is ultimately more useful than just a pedal. @fretmeister And Wolverine’s posts are not saying get the cheapest version of something, they are saying if you spend a little more you can get the same thing practically, AND a whole heap more. So it’s more saying don’t get a Ferrari with just 1gear, get one with flappy paddles, 7 speed gear box, reverse etc. I think sometimes we all get defensive of products we like, I certainly do with my stuff!
  3. Can only comment on what I have heard, but aside from the obvious rack vs floor you will get different sounds enough to have both in your set up!
  4. It’s a shame, but I hear prices are on the increase to display. Sandberg not there, Barefaced not there, not surprising on a way
  5. I am not a fan of Ray’s in general but even I am finding these very tempting, I think it’s good work by EB
  6. Can’t comment on everything, but I have a mahogany Kala bass and I exchanged the rubber strings for the roundwounds. Means I still get that thump, but also I can e decent noise with a pick. Action is quite high on them, but it’s a whole heap of fun. No matter which you get you will like it
  7. They start shipping in April. Official word straight form the horses mouth
  8. Right then i am saying €329
  9. Looking OK so far. Just need an in depth with judicious twiddling
  10. You know what will happen, you’ll dial in the 5er sound, then pick up the P and go Whoa!!! And dial a new sound as the more mid present split coil will give you something else Take a picture of the dial settings you like now, crest a mini album on your phone then it’s easy to switch back and forth and you don’t lose what you’ve got.
  11. Glad you are happy buddy, time to enjoy
  12. It had to be something different as essentially in a year he has released the AO, mini AO and Ultra AO. USB connectivity surprised me a bit I must admit, but thinking about a Cab sim it seems obvious with the venture into cabs. What is ironic (unless you were being ironic) is that it’s a ‘yeah’ moment when it’s only £389. Crikey! Line 6 looks better and better all the time

    Fender HM5

    That is mint
  14. Yep the least surprising release really, it was on the cards for a while!
  15. Is it just the type of pick ups, pick up configuration etc. or the finish

I very nearly did a while back, I think they look pretty good actually, but ultimately went another way. well done, will look forward to the review
  19. If you like Trickfish, you may like their pre-amp in a pedal. The glut of gear from NAMM is starting...
  20. To celebrate 10 years of DG they have a new bass by Dingwall with their tone capsule in. Enjoy
  21. Don’t get me wrong I am with you on that, and have done the maths numerous times and am exasperated by it. I’ve bought from across the water when the buy price plus shipping and taxes was cheaper than in the UK, both first and second hand. The big thing that irked me was the dUg amp not having a universal voltage, on an ampnthat expensive that is naughty. However if the dUg Pedal is universal voltage, well that can slip into hand luggage...
  22. Yep I agree, but at least it’s not $350 starter. I have no affiliation or particular affinity, but to be fair to Tech21 it’s the same for all products. A $20k car in the states is a £20k+ car here despite being exactly the same
  23. For headphones practice you could go straight out the GK or take a DI out of the Markbass into a mixer like a xenys 502 and pop headphones into that. That would bring you out the zoom and give you an idea of how it stacks with the amp. you don’t need to be connected to a speaker with them both being class D
