Hi mate http://cioks.com/products/parallel-adapter-flex/ this is the cable you need as it summates the current NOT the voltage. summing the voltage = a fried pedal! i do this with my Two Notes and Cioks DC5 Really easy to do, Two Notes is worth every penny

I suppose if they said do something in the background like tune your bass, they could have recited the complete works or George R Martin going through all those strings!

I would argue about dirt, delay etc not being subtle, of course they can be and be very useful that way

Cataldo basses in the US do 8s and 12s and they have OK reps from what I hear. They do a T bird shape. Hamer also did their blitz bass as a 12ver, and that is very metal and pretty rare!

FYI for any of you out there on the 8 String trail that happen to like a Sandberg bass, Sandberg produced about 10 or so, so the unicorns are out there. I have no further details except the last one left the factory last year to I think an endorsing artist, and that Sandberg produce quality machines. They have no plans to do any more currently, which is a shame.

@Al Krow I can predict the future, you’ll go, have the time of your life and get a blinking 12 string and dUg amp before me. IF that does happen, i’ll still be your friend, but I may have a little sulk and a pouty bottom lip...😢

Pretty sure it has 8 saddles, but I can’t remember if each is adjustable in height or not sorry. I have a suspicion that the Schecter has poo saddles as well, happy to be wrong

@Al Krow oh sweet Jesus Bas, all you have done is find out what most people already knew that some manufacturers make a multi string bass, then because you have the horn for a neck through and decided Schecter are an OK brand (in which the QC and innovation is probably more centered in the new range cf the old range) based on someone else’s research (wonder who that was....) you declared the Schecter King and are now getting one, only if I get a 12 string, despite being less than tepid on an 8 string not long ago. Never professed to be an expert, never make sweeping judgements or comments without due diligence or knowledge, in general of course, I fear the opposite is a nigh on daily occurrence for you. Bas it’s like being back at school with plasticine and potty time, or fuzzy felt and stickle bricks with you sometimes, I know you used to look at my homework and pretend it’s yours. Go in Bas, get your nap in before milk and cookies ps love you xxxxx

@Al Krow BazzyBear if you wanted to know about 8 strings I could have told you all of them without you having to throw your dud grenades that don’t go off, but you wouldn’t have believed me, you never do......😢 BTW in your case IMHO the H stands for horrific.....🤣

@Al Krow there are always different viewpoints buddy, will people in the audience know the difference between your delicious Nordstrand pick ups vs a set from ironstone, a UK company which for the price (another Bas fave) are very good and price point alone stand up very well. @Delberthot has a more than valued opinion and you can pick from it what you like, BUT consistently whether it’s this gentleman or @Wolverinebass and his point everyone says it has its own big sound, which cannot be exactly replicated, thus if you want it, you want it and take the rough with the smooth. if it was all about rough approximation Bas you wouldn’t be flipping pedals like a BBQ chef flips burgers to get the sound you want, you would just stuck with your zoom.

Bas, your 4 octave Pedals will get you 80% there, Plus which one of your bases would have to go out the window, rules are rules?!

@Al Krow thanks buddy, one day you’ll realise the world is not flat.....but it’s not about convincing you fella! You also remember your other statement about no decent famous bassist ever using a 12, and it turns out one of your fave ones did......?! You know I love you Bas, there is nothing wrong with theories, and they get you 20% the way there, but sometimes you need something a bit harder, like practical evidence to get to your magical 80%. Of course i’ll let you know. And BTW you can Always get a better price point between the two types of basses (as in a 12 cheaper than an 8), depends what exactly you want.

@Al Krow so sorry, i take it back. I got the wrong end of the stick, I thought you were basing your statements on personal experience not on video clips gleaned from YouTube or opinions from others regurgitated. @NancyJohnson nope not played a 12, but have played an 8 and I am fully aware it will not be a walk in the park, but I don’t find that daunting. I find it a challenge I am willing to take on. Bas, may well be spot on with his figures, but if so it’s by accident considering he assumed a 12 String was a 6 course single octave String bass about 2 weeks ago....

@Al Krow after launching your grenade I would like to know where you get your figures from? Why does 8 strings get you 95% of the way there with a chorus pedal? How do you know an audience may or may not know the difference? How do you quantify that it is also 150% more playable? Where have you got your costings from? USA bases, Indonesian, Korean, Luthiered? And for which makes Bas? Maybe I am missing a trick here, can you enlighten me....? BTW you do remember when we say 12 String we mean 4 courses and four fundamentals don’t you....?!

I spoke with the guy in email and he seems a really nice guy. He is in the middle of building a custom 15 for someone. I agree it’s the business

Yep a 12 String is in my list of to gets when the right one comes along. For me it’s all about dUg Pinnick and he had a Hamer before his custom Yamaha. I had a long look at Waterstone, Musicvox, Galveston and that Dean, but I don’t think any of them live up to the Hamer IMO.
