  1. Defo not - too much fun to be had. DP3X/dUg patch by Jon Willis for a bit of drive with clarity will be worth it - it transcends genres
  2. Looks good, but that MC8 looks a bit big and incongruous on the board, have you not thought about an MC6...?
  3. Mildly condescending......there is generally the possibility something to learn/reaffirm or share from most people on here regardless of length of time playing /perceived ability of skills or them playing the White Hart or White Hart stadium.
  4. I am not as well endowed as that picture, but I have forsaken clothes storage and my double wardrobe is all gear. I figured if I can squash it all in and the door closes, the Mrs can’t complain if it’s all hidden!
  5. Good work, just passing in tips I gained from others and a bit of trial and error! Hope it works out ok with the band
  6. Yeah that may work, and also run a sliver of tape up from the cavity to just on the body which would contact to a tape bit on the underside of the pickguard. I once after carbon painting a cavity ran a thin strip halfway up the cavity right around it and then up to contact as described above and that was just enough
  7. Yep I had a similar where I grounded not just to a pot, but also to the cavity and that worked. Also if you have a pickguard make sure there is contact on the under surface shielding tape with some point of the cavity shielding so you create your faraday cage properly. Other things like mobiles phones, etc nearby if these pick ups are hotter can be an issue
  8. Is the cavity of the pickups and controls properly shielded? Is the grounding wire to the bridge loose?
  9. Possibly because in musical theatre they also have to act and have dialogue, being isolated with in ears would prevent normal conversation. You could always argue if everyone was Mic’d up then it would not be an issue? Maybe also with dancing etc having a microphone and an ear piece pack is a hassle. I dunno, thoughts off the top of my head
  10. Because a P bass rules
  11. It is very tempting....
  12. Ah yes I thought I remembered that lot, great heard, you are as bad as me for tinkering!
  13. Without doubt prob one of the best basses I own
  14. So....they are doing an old fashioned tournament shoot out of various bass DI’s and so far there have been 2 match ups between @Tech21NYC and Darkglass - they are doing it pretty well actually. Tech21 kills it each time Let the games begin!
  15. You mean like this....... it’s great doing it!
  16. As my good man @Reggaebass said, if you strip it you can confirm if there is any actual structural damage, and then if it’s pretty grain, you can stain, or refinish really easily and not too expensively with nitro cans from North west guitars or similar. Or my fave would be to get chisels/routers out and experiment with pick ups
  17. Good man I was going to get that bass but couldn’t organise a friend picking it up from London for me! So far as any refin etc. The world is your oyster with this. Leave as is, strip, create some more crazing on it, further relic.....I think it’s a great blank canvas to experiment congrats
  18. What a gig that was I bet! dUg still sounds great, shame they had to cancel last years tour, hopefully they can get back
  19. This my fave kxm one dUg has done solo projects and other things like poundhound, supershine, recently released a Jimi Hendrix covers album and toured in stateside Kings X should have a record out hopefully this year after mixing and mastering and he still does stuff with Grinder Blues
  20. Yep i did I mentioned him last, but he is first on my list
  21. Can’t believe it took 3 pages to bring Glenn Hughes up. Chris Kosnik - The Atomic Bitchwax is awesome at both. Mark Hoppus, Kim Deal, Dusty Hill, Tal Wilkenfeld But 4 pages in - dUg Pinnick not yet mentioned- the man is a legend
  22. I would not be downhearted - I value opinions but always like to make my own up. It you can try, that is the killer test, then it doesn’t matter what even the Queen of Sheba says. I fully expect people to not like stuff as much as I do
  23. @Paul S @dmccombe7 don’t get me started on Scottish rugby and our butter fingered poster boy. Any one of us could play any position for them and it’ll be better. Paul - go for No 8 - you’ll get a game
  24. Oh I can tell that, we all like different things and different things move us
