  1. I have been using Studiomaster Sense 12+ for over a year. I wouldn't say they are particularly heavy. They are very capable and LOUD. The customer service is excellent . Importantly, they have a small footprint as they are a concentric design . They show my Laney CPX112's a clean pair of heals!
  2. Bit late to the party here ... but ... We recently upgraded our PA, because I wanted to put Drums through the PA. So, we moved up from 10inch active PA (1200W) to (2000W) 12inch active speakers PLUS a RCF 705 Sub. The 12 inch speakers are great (but not much louder than the 1200W) but the Sub is spectacular! It makes a huge difference to the sound. Just by adding kick and snare. Could argue it's not always necessary, but as it sits under one of the full range speakers it effectively takes no more space, and even when used sparingly it really helps provide a solid underpinning to the music. It's a revelation. (and will protect you full range speakers from the drummer!!).

  7. Be interested to hear how you get along with it and what settings you use. ......... I really like mine (as an always on pedal), but not really sure why.
  8. And boy do I need a lot more Magic Dust after last night's performance! Used my fall back P Bass for the first half in a very bassey but fantastic venue. Huge bass tones, but little at the top end - a 2 string (E.A.) bass would have worked equally well. Increased Contour level, knocked back the bass and elevated the upper mids and was pretty happy. As our guitarist said at half time "Awesome" (but he is a guitarist!!). Normal service resumed in second half - Sandberg and pretty much back to a 9.30 (orange) contour setting and flat other than a tiny bit of bass roll-off on the bass. We were LOUD, but the bass volume settings were Gain at 12 O'clock Master at just below 10. So, just confirmation really, this amp is really flexible, which is a godsend when needed and implausibly loud .......... I keep being tempted to increase the "speakerage" just to do it justice (and that's using a couple of Mesa Subways). When I first had the amp I thought it a bit "modern" sounding, especially with the Sandberg, but I've either worked out how to work the tone controls or have lost even more of my mid range hearing!! Now, having switched to the Orange Contour setting I find it does whatever I want - Modern, Old School, Pop, Rock and even a bit of folk/rock. It's a great amp and Jeff Genzler is really responsive to any enquiries - if you ask Genzler a question he personally responds! Great Amp, Great Company.
  9. Yep - that's about the setting I use for loud Covers band, (playing everything from CCR to Metallica via Miley Cyrus!) using Sandberg VM4. Used to use the Blue Channel at around 11 o'clock which sounds great when noodling at home but wasn't happy with the live sound. (Re-) Read the instructions and used the Orange Channel for Live use ........ BLISS! Tipped the balance in favour of the Genzler vs my ABM 600 which is now "resting". (But the ABM is great and whilst I know I should sell it I'm finding it difficult to part with!). I tend to use the 4 on The Floor Genzler Pedal as an "always on" pedal too - on a very "light" drive setting . Very difficult to say what it does, but live it just adds that sprinkle of magic dust.
  10. Any "Central" users out there? Be interested to know how you're getting on with them ........... have a VM4, fancy a VT/TT Superlight, but can't find a 4 string Central to try before deciding (and then saving, and then negotiating with SWMBO and ......... ) Can't really find much comment on't internet so thought I'd ask.😁
  11. Thanks, Freeze pedal Sustains the note you're playing when you stomp on it! Leaving you free to play on - a kind of Drone. I don't use any delay or reverb, So I guess any volume pedal can stay at the end of the FX chain. Any recommendations in terms of Brands/Models ?
  12. Hi, From time to time I need to use a volume pedal - sometimes just to fade in/out, but more importantly to tailor any volume "jumps" when using effects pedals. Use active and passive basses and the Volume Pedal sits at the end of a modest pedal board (Bass >Tuner> Compressor> POG> Drive> Big Muff>Freeze>Volume Pedal > Amp). I'm guessing that, whether I'm using an Active or Passive Bass that by the time the signal gets to the Volume Pedal it "sees" an "Active" signal and therefore I need a low impedance Volume Pedal. But am I right?? Any guidance on models that work well in this situation? Active or Passive pedal? I have a small Sonik Cake Volume Pedal, but as it has no spring/resistance it's rather difficult to use in a subtle way, it tends to be either on or off! Any suggestions?
  13. Thanks POW_22 - I've been in touch with mike and it all looks promising. Excellent ... many thanks for the contact.
  14. Hi, Anyone know of a PA repair company in the Northwest of England? Volume drop on one of a pair of Mackie, SRM450 mkii's. Be great to get it sorted, but struggling to find anyone who undertakes this kind of work up here. Suggestions gratefully received!! Thanks Ian
  15. And this morning .... Reply from Holger. I'm impressed!
  16. Contact made .... Marc got back to me straight away. So many thanks for the contact details!!
  17. Hi - Has anyone got an e-mail/facebook etc. address that "works" for Sandberg? I need to contact them and haven't had any response to messages on their website contact page or their e-mail address? Been trying for over a month now so getting a little frustrated - I know that some have had good and timely responses so I wonder if there's a better contact address/strategy. Any help much appreciated.
  18. That looks great! How does the sound compare with the VT (in terms of brightness/Old School/Modern). I tend to use my VM4 pretty much 100% Neck pickup, but interested to know if the VS 4 sounds less "modern".
  19. That sounds great Al!! Great band .... great sound. Recently , moved to "damn the Torpedoes" mode and bought the RCF 932's plus 705asII sub !! Just as I was thinking I might have overdone it, it turns out weekend gig is an open air event (in a field and with no organiser provided PA). I'm taking the new AND the old as we will need all the beans we can muster!! I'll let you know.........
