  1. Is it "one day at a time" πŸ€”
  2. I got this and won't be using it ... The Philips head bit has broken off but it still works πŸ‘ If it's any use to you ... it's yours Cheers.. Tom
  3. I'm about to try and do something like this myself... I've just about got the hx to where I want it with bass guitar and want to try and use it for upright as well. I've found recently that setting up the global eq and input impedance have helped me get closer to the tone I want (through a ampless IEM PA setup).
  4. I've had pickups set right up close to the strings and as far away as possible.... I find I prefer the further away end of the spectrum... But like Doctor J prescribed I have learnt to use my ears over time, it seems to me you get a bit less boomy bottom when set like this or at least how I play.πŸ€”
  5. So ... Do you personally prefer bolt on to thru neck basses then? Is this what made you hold the 1600 as the best bb?
  6. So what's the general opinion then .. that the 2000 offerings of 415, 615 and the passive version are as good as the newer models then? Is it the 80's Japanese stuff that really stands out as better?
  7. A generous member of the community πŸ‘ Thank you
  8. I'll be there when CB are playing in the south west again πŸ‘ love the band. Would love to see the bass. Do you favour the p on the bassworks pj?
  9. I was watching with great interest... Had his new lovely new pj bass with him.
  10. It could have been where I was standing but others commented too from further back.
  11. I recently saw cardinal black in Bristol and the bass had been well and truly buried by the kick drum for the duration of the gig 😞
  12. Oh .. I'm after some smalls πŸ™‚
  13. It's mad... Hard to explain. I wonder how many basses get left on the shelf or sold on for this reason?
  14. ☝️ There is a joke here somewhere but I'm not going to go there πŸ€”
  15. It's made me wonder what other strings out there might sound even better .... But for now I'm happy I've found a string that has brought the bass to life. I guess things like neck stiffness come to mind first in regards to string guage and tension.
  16. I tried the nyxl string and felt they had a very slight higher tension. Your bass obviously likes it πŸ‘
  17. 100% ... Im glad other have had this experience..
  18. Yeah ... I've changed the j cover on a p7 no problem
  19. What's people's thoughts on this... I've got a limelight p bass that has some regular light d'addario 45 - 100 nickle roundwound... Tried lots of strings including flats but when I put these on the bass it came to life and I thought "I've found my strings!" I like lighter strings πŸ‘ So I put the equivalent set but 5 string on my Yamaha bb615. Mehhh Didn't sound or feel right. So after experimenting with quite a few other sets I've just today put a set of regular 50 - 135 Ernie ball slinkys on and now this bass seems to have come to life... It sounds and feels great. Experimenting with strings isn't cheap but if you stumble across something that works then the instrument can really shine I think.. Anybody had a similar experience on this or am I going mad? (It's Xmas and there is a lot of booze about πŸ€”)
  20. I wish I could afford this right now 😫 What a cool bass
