1.
I'm talking about discontinued products though, not products that are actually available to order...
Yup, my mistake. The Ags were not discontinued
2. If that happens, i'll dump the strings
3.
It's also really annoying that they leave products up on their website that are discontinued as "available to order" and slash the price on it, so they show up as one of the cheapest on google shopping, yet you have ZERO chance of getting the product from them. Just a cheap shot to get competitors price matching something they don't have or getting traffic to their site, even though they know they don't have the product you want.
Not true for me at all I was searching the net for Aguilar soapbars, and GAK were the cheapest. " special order only " ...oh oh, alarm bells But i ordered and they turned up in about a week.
4. Thanks for the ideas chaps Yes, Labella Supersteps have the thin exposed core at the bridge. Well spotted those people. They must obviously sit a tad lower on the saddle than a string with outer core at the bridge. Dont know why i didnt think of that . They're also stainless steel so as said, ARE more magnetic. I guess a lowering of the pickup might be in order. Yes i have a single coil in the neck ( a neo magnet Entwhistle, the strongest pickup magnets known to man ) I never even thought to try the bridge pickup, which is a bucker Warman UK MM. I'll look at that again and see if it happens on the bridge pickup too Danny, i dont do the lazy winding thing. I simply cut off the excess, then poke the end down into the centre of the post, fold to the side, and then wind properly, so i'm ruling out that problem Thank the force, there will be no arrests today
5.
Had literally just messaged the Doc. After seeing some of these comments I may withdraw my request if I do get a response. I'll pursue the company mentioned before.
Probably a wise move He hasnt posted in 2.5 years.
6. Weird.. Changed strings recently ( fitted some Labella Super Steps ) and now my unaffected tone sounds like there's mild chorus or flange on it. At first, i thought either my chorus pedal or flange pedal was still on despite them being switched off ...maybe a fault inside one of them. They were easily proved innocent by going direct into the amp head. So now i have no culprit except the strings ? I did a bit of googly googly and there was mention of windings round the string post ( eh ? ) or strings too close to the pickup I only changed the strings and never touched the string action itself by lowering at all. Same action as before, when the old strings were on. Never had the problem then Any ideas would be great. If not, i'll start arresting people on false charges
7.
Sorry fella: I'm not sure if there's an 'irony' emoji, but if there is I would have used it in the OP. It was merely a facetious quip to provoke debate.
OK, understood I guess without a smiley wink or something, people will take what you say seriously
8. Rediculous You think Fender are a pillar of virtue ? How many small businesses have they bought out and shut down ?
9. Beer crates don't fold down nice and flat
10. And cheap too ... Kerching ! http://www.staples.co.uk/tall-folding-step-stool/cbs/297690682.html?price=incvat&cm_mmc=SEM_PLA-_-google-_-serp-pla&mcode=SEM_PLA-google-serp-pla&gclid=CKbblqPv8dECFc2c7QodvsoNnA&gclsrc=aw.ds
11.
Oops, just read your post Fleabag. As I understand it, if you add octaves down and they are subaural you still get the unique 'flavour' from the harmonics and sub harmonics above.
Cleared that up Greene, thanks
12. These are mine .. E - Z - Fold steps. I use a pair for extra stability Flat for transporting Flip open for placing cabs on
13. I have my cabs on stands but the're not adjustable
14.
Only by you it seems Peter, everyone else I know puts them as the last element in the chain to ensure that the pedals don't introduce any sub-frequencies. The only thing I might want downstream of it is a DI box.
Not exactly, Pete. If you read about the MT on Talkbass, you'll also find that some put it at the front and some put it last I was thinking though that if someone ran an Octaver, you wouldnt want the MT last, surely ? Would that not kill any of the notes below E ?
15.
Hey Fleabag, and thanks for your comments.... The only kit I use is a Seymore Duncan pick up booster, a Stageclix radio system, and any day now a Mini Thumpinator. I presume, working from the guitar back to the amp, it will be radio receiver into the pick up booster, booster into the Thumpinator and then into the amp.... What do you think?
I dont see any problem with that
16. And some of Deke live and that lovely Welsh accent , bless him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knNAStZ9Qfw
17. As a wave goodbye to the great man... Kerosene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xV00MYQKY0Y
18. One other thing, there's a debate as to where to stick it in the chain, assuming you have other pedals First or last ? I guess suck it and see.
19. Yup, as stated 2.1 mm Neg tip, like any Boss pedal PS and others of that ilk Mine is run off of my power bank ...no problems
20. Be Good To Youself At Least Once A Day and Rhinos Winos And Lunatics were some of our gang's standard fayre music back in the 70's when i were a lad, although Deke wasn't in the line up of Be Good after being sacked, but he was on Rhinos after folding Iceberg Another irreplaceable loss
21. There's some talk on the place on another forum.. Might be worth a read https://justinguitarcommunity.com/index.php?topic=35405.0
