1. Thanks T - though i;m still thinking bertiebass. I seem to be somewhat hamfisted with delicate work
2. Oh hell. I read too slow and it chips, too fast and it melts. I'm thinking Bertbass already - cheers Mick The perspex is on its way so i wonder if i can send that bit of sheet to bertie with some measurements ??
3. Peeps I'm having to make templates for pickup and rear cavity routs, and i decided i want perspex. Trouble is, my memory of cutting perspex a few years ago resulted in it sort of melting back together behind the cut. I was using a jigasw and fine blade. Is there better way to get a clean cut - maybe something like a sharp stanley knife and making lots of cuts over and over again or is this likely to take days ? 5mm Perspex / acrylic is not cheap to practice on so i need to do it once
4. Or the other way round when selling and you get a message to say 'i'll have that ' and that's the last you hear
5. No, he was the walrus. Try to keep up
6. Been there and done it. I couldn't agree more
7. Blimey guv, you would have thought EB would have hurled an MM at the public
8. Did they not bring out a few different models ? MM, Jazz, etc ?
9. A 35" scale axe would almost solve any flappy B tuned string on a 4 banger
10. Every ' flea ' bass replica i've ever seen has never piqued any interest with moi Then again, i don't even like his style or tone. I like the guy himself though
11. If anyone watched Howard Goodall's program last night on the making of Pep ( composer of Blackadder title track and much more ) , it was fabulous watching him breakdown the way the Peps tracks were constructed, and just what incredible work and genius those guys used to magic them tracks out of thin air. Even ' within you ' whether you like it or not I have even more respect for their musical prowess than i used to
12. Saw JT just as Glascock joined Tull. A monster band for sure. I was more of a Cornick fan, but but hey, the list of good musos that have played in JT is pretty damn good. I even had Glen Cornick buy a bass neck from me on Ebay, though he lived in California at the time. He sent one of Tull's drummers over to collect it. That was Clive Bunker.
13. Of course, once you've got one, its best to get another
14. NOW £225 + POSTAGE IF REQUIRED
15. PS Check Saunders web page - great bass http://www.tonysaunders.com/
16. Tony Saunders - a black model http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDNFHDTXrwI
17. They've also stripped out Dias's and Randall's lead guitars. Fabulous work as always by SD
18. No way Hose A. Who would suggest such a thing ?
19.
Ordered my first set of Hotwires for a while. Came in a well wrapped jiffy, then a plastic sleeve with a paper insert. No writing on insert as to what set they where just a list of all strings supplied. Strings were all wrapped around each other in one paper string bag!! I normally don't even wrap up second hand strings like this, I put them in the appropriate marked paper sleeve so I know which is which in the case of a breakage. Am I missing something? Is this now the norm?? String set is written in pen on the paper sleeve, just noticed!!
Same here - received a couple of sets of the Black Nylon Tapewounds. The ones you cannot buy on their website. We'll, after a chat with monsuier Greek, it turns out that the Black Nylon Tapes are so long, that a medium scale set will fit a 34" long scale bass. Job done. Buy hey yes, received the package in exactly the same way , even down to the writing. I wasnt that bothered though
20. Don't burn him ! Don't burn the witch ! Don't give him the easy chair ! Everything's alright, honest
