Im guessing,never having played either the Epiphone or Gibson plugged in,that Epiphone passives have a brighter sound than gibsons ? Do the Epiphone Actives compare sound wise to anything else ?

Amp wise there is a Carlsboro delta 300w combo in the amps for sale section at £200.I've had my Delta for ten plus years and love it.I personaly would upgrade the amp first as you already have a decent enough bass.No point in upgrading the bass if you have a potentially unreliable amp IMO.

If you're happy with a couple of body shapes,and three or four pickups shared between dozens of models......................................... For arguably the pioneer of mass produced electric bass guitars,they do'nt seem to have come up with much new since the Jazz Bass.IMO

I have this cunning plan to reshape my cheap through neck no name bass.the first pic is what i have,the second is somewhere close to where i want it to be. Ideal situation would involve the use of a band saw,which i dont have.I do have a good jig-saw,circular saw,planes,files,sandpaper,saws,etc,and a lot of time. Is this possible without a bandsaw ?
