1. I bought a couple of basses from them a couple of years ago and had them delivered to Portugal no problem. They were very helpful at every stage. That was especially useful when FedEX cocked up and had the basses spend a holiday in France, as they decided to ship a replacement free of charge. Actually, if you're planning on placing an order, let me know. I'm close (Leeds) and it'd be good to split shipping costs and what not.

 3. I'm moving soon, and these 2 books aren't moving with me Bass Fitness - An Exercising Handbook - Josquin des Prés Fingerboard Harmony for Bass - Gary Willis Both books are in great condition (they're actually like new, pretty much unread) and popular titles, so no intro needed, I believe. I'd be looking for about €7.5 shipped for the first one and €10 shipped for the second one. Maybe €15 shipped for both. I'll entertain offers, though. Items are currently located near Porto, Portugal. EDIT: Forgot to add - I'll take paypal or bank transfer as payment. Not too fussed about currency (pounds are OK).
 4. man, I really need to learn this bassline. any tips? the chucking thing seems a bit confusing..
 5.
I've only ever seen two Sandbergs and I own one. Both were spot on so I don't quite get the inconsistancy in quality control. In doing some research on Bass talk, the yanks absolutely rave about them. Read a number of threads and not yet found anything regarding any issues with the quality of build. Where as on Basschat there's been a few negatives? Couldn't resist adding a little picy of mine.
purdy! are you sure you don't want to start a porn thread?
 6.
That's a fascinating bit of film. Not really into slap bass or MM (heresy!) but that's a very nice piece he's playing. What intrigues me is that amount and type of comment he's received, especially the open discussion as to whether or not he's faking the whole thing. Why? Why would an obscure Korean musician put up a video of himself miming to a 5-minute MM track? Does that sort of thing happen often?
thats youtube AKA trolls'r'us it sounds GREAT!
 7.
musicstore.de have always been pretty good too. As for the commonly heard complaint that "my taxes go to support the EU ... blah de blah" ... The UK is PART of the EU. So by your own argument you pay taxes to support ..... just a thought. I can assure you that I have a far higher tax burden here in France than those of you in the UK. The point of this thread was however (I think) to highlight the superior price to service ratio offered (in general) by on-line retailers such as Thomann. And I have to agree. AND I LIKE SNAILS
Barney....you...you...you dog! I also have to sing praises to thomann, musicstore and musik-produktiv - great prices and service (even with my 21% VAT)
 8.
Sorry Jase, Can you go through that again please? 82,000 yen for the bass (£390 today) But what is the 68 and 14? Is that 68 quid for shipping and 14 quid for tax and VAT? Cheers,
I'd say it's 68K yen for the bass and 14K yen for S/H
 9.
Cheers Josh, im not quite sure why it has not sold that quickly, its a beautiful instrument. faultyy drop me a pm when your ready mate.
because I'm broke.. have a bump
 10.
Try the Epiphone Jack Casady... Lovely looking bass with a real distinctive sound as well.

Eastwood Classic? They go for £350-ish over here.

Or maybe something by Dipinto?
all VERY cool! I feel a GAS attack coming.
 11. on a different note - does anyone know of similar (cool) basses with a price tag of under €1000?
 12. I know http://www.ppc-music.de/ sells them the website isn't in english, but navigation is easy enough and those guys have good reputation.
 13.
Do you need to have an order of 25 instruments, or is that just for custom orders to make it worth their while?
no! the 25 units minimum only applies to custom orders
 14.
A bunch of us Gibson fans have got together to order a bach non-reverse thunderbird style bass. see here http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1408 I'll be getting one for sure - will post pics when they arrive. As far as I know, Bach will make you anything, if you can get together an order for 25 of them....
that sounds cool! not too sure on the "clear" finish (and can't find any pics of a t-bird with such a finish..any examples? )
 15.
Waterstone Indra
man you're better than an encyclopedia! good looking bass btw
 16. aargh..I'm restless. really want to get something like a 2.5XL, but it weights a ton..so maybe these are the way to go. problem is, I don't think they're for sale anywhere yet...or are they?
 17.
I saw pics of a "vintage white" one that looked even cooler than the red one, but white doesn't seem to even be available as an option in japan now - they do have sunburst though.
you mean one of these?
 18.
I went around this loop as well The Jim Deacon 62 rosewood sunburst P bass is nice and as good as the SX's I've tried. http://www.jimdeacon.co.uk/Products/Basses/FPB62.html They are selling for about £130 here. I also tried to get the SX manufacturer them to ship them direct to me in the UK but no luck. The Spanish guy doesn't reply. The Irish one does but he's the same price as Rondo when you factor everything in, and has less stock or choice. They must be aware of the interest here though. The UK distributor of SX basses does the non-fenderish ones and the packs (avoid!) but isn't going to bring in the nice ones .. Maybe we shoud lbe pestering him.
very true! they take ages to reply, and only did when the e-mail was written in "spanish" (being portuguese, my spanish is far from perfect)
 19.
Looks like you'll have to go with Rondo then.
or with the spanish dudes - www.musicasa.com (e-mail them to know what they've got in stock )
ive been tempted to build a dano inspired bass out of plywood.... it could sound amazing. at least it would be different than your normal fender/mm clones or exotic wood brigade
now there's something I'd like to see!
 21. you can always have the headstock paint stripped...or have the buyer do it, if you don't feel that comfortable about it and yes - I think you won't have a hard time getting rid of it (especially if you take care of the headstock color) - I might be interested if the price is right and you'll ship it to me
