Wateroftyne

Bought a set of strings from WOT. Simple transaction, good communication and, above all, very fast! Quite happy with how things turned out.
been there, done that, nothing of interest, specially die to the price, some used items only cost like 5% less than buying new
There's a nice Ibanez SR405 for under €200 if you're feeling brave. Not only that, but a Washburn XB400 for €160. Both on Miau. I reckon the market is slow on both forums, but if you keep your eyes peeled some nice things pop up.
what about the SR 300? currently looking at http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/PTE/Yamaha...-BAS0001672-001 http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/PTE/Ibanez...-BAS0004525-000 but also looking at jazz basses cause i just loved the Fender i played
Look on forumusica.com, baixistas.com or miau.pt. You'll definitely find better (used) choices for less money than that.

If you live in the neighbourhood, we can even spare it scary a trip in the CTT trucks.
  5. That website is crawling with low-feedback crooks. Besides, this one screams fake.
  6.
Man... You want to go to London Bass Guitar Show next weekend - lots of top cats will be there doing their thing. Just google for the event.
Oh, I'd like that. I'm not sure about my girlfriend, though
  7. On the same vein, where can one find good jazz next friday/saturday night? [/thread hijack]
  8.
WTF!
haha Link removed for sanity purposes. This is a FS thread anyway, so on with it. Too bad I'm not fond of natural finishes, because the price is incredible!
  9.
i reduced price to 415 pounds, i think this is very good price for this bass here is a video with this bass, unfortunately recorded on my phone camera so quality is poor, but better this than nothing, and i'm not the best player but hope you dont mind
Dude, either you have a weird sense of humour, or you posted the wrong link
  10.
Bible basher, along with Jesus freak is used in Australian slang to pertain to a person or group who knock on doors to convert non-Christians. It is also often used to refer to social conservatives in the Bible belt of the Southern United States. The term alludes to a preacher thumping his hand hard down on the Bible to emphasize a point during a sermon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_basher
Crap. 2 out of 2 flying over my head in two days. I'll go away now.
  11.
It wouldn't work out, I'm not a bible basher.
Neither are they, all their metal is in praise of the lord.
  12. Well, if you can't join those, you can always try them
  13.
I think you'll find that as well as signed it's also singed. Shame we can't see it because apparently it looks good on the stand.
But seriously, does he expect anyone to buy it? I know there are some silly people out there, but whoever buys that INCREDIBLE SINGED BASS takes the cake.
  14. That's a brilliant synth. I used to play with a guy who swore by his. The sounds are pretty good. Too bad I suck at anything with keys. Anyway, good luck!
  15.
cool. GO ON MY SAN! all you need is to replace the fender logo with ryder and you'll have a real collectors item on your hands.
But it has to go to the attic first. Those are the rules.
  16. That just looks amazing! You and Ou7shined are going to make me lose a finger to power tools when I try to copy you.
  17.
He didn't spell Jon right either! (Not a huuuggge issue i know but still) Something definately doesn't add up...
That's the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw it. Maybe it is some early work? Or maybe someone just copied the headstock and is trying to pass it on as a Shuker? Weird.
  18.
Never going to the zoo with you.
Well, they don't let me in there anymore either
I liked the slightly disturbing sound comparison... as for the quality, I hasten to add that I do not own one, I haven't touched pne, I haven't even seen one in the flesh, so i can't possibly comment (I'll leave that to somebody else ) I was merely summarising the impression received from previous posts.
Sure. It would seem I got lucky .
  19.
the consensus seems to be that the guitars are nowhere near as good as the basses...
I disagree. After plugging it in it is clear that the pickups are somewhat thin, but otherwise my strat is as good as the P. The strings it came were god awful too. The sound was akin to a monkey being stabbed...with a spoon. New strings improved the sound greatly (though it was still not perfect, but I can live with that).

    Ebay links forum
Agreed! However, I believe that if members (possibly with X number of posts to their name) were allowed to advertise their auctions via a thread on BCs ebay section then nobody would be any the worse for it, members have the right to choose whether they wished to bid on items or not. It'd take seconds to set up a 'Members Sales' subforum in the ebay section, then if BC members didn't want to trawl through members listings then they could just look in the regular section which is there for us to criticise and pull basses apart that appear on eBay! It's not rocket science to resolve.
Perhaps a sub-section of eBay links dedicated to members' auctions would solve many of the problems. That's something I'd like to see. Still, it is a matter of opinion, and I don't think we and the forum admins share the same one.

    Ebay links forum
Possibly but ebay is an auction site, Basschat is not. So having no reserve I take a calculated risk of getting more than what I think it is roughly worth... but it might come up less and a Basschatter gets a bargain! It poses the problem that if I advertise it on here for £100 and it goes to £150 on ebay, I'd be unlikely to sell it to a BCer; however, I could then be accused of running an auction style sale on my sale thread.
That's true. It is far from a perfect solution. Then again, I can't see any other way, given the current rules.
For Sale rules state a firm price must be stated.
Maybe I'm not getting my point across. What I was suggesting was yes, get your eBay links up, even if you're starting with 99p. However, also state a price you'd be happy to sell the items for, to comply with the forum rules. I don't think this breaks any rules and it'd work around the current limitations.
I've stuck stuff on eBay with no reserve starting at 99p... unfortunately that precludes me from putting it up in the sale section!
I would assume you know how roughly much the items are worth (or how much you'd like for them). Is that not enough?

    Ebay links forum
I'd like this clarified as I've ran ebay auctions of my gear recently and due to the statement that it wasn't for members to advertise their auctions, I haven't put threads up! Seems a bit of a farce if new members come on and do it with impunity and in some cases actually have mods move their ebay auction threads from other parts of the site to the ebay section, yet a long standing member abides by the rules. If it is a free for all and we can advertise our ebay auctions without fear of a slap on the wrist then I'd like to know for next time.
You can always circumvent the problem and advertise your gear in the For sale sections with a price in mind and a link to your ebay account. Unless there's an esoteric interpretation of the rules, that seems resonable.
