  1. Initial impressions are good. As a practice tool it's perfect. I've always thought the tone prints are a gimmick too but they are very easy to use and a lot of fun. I have no idea what I'll use when I can play though an amp at gig volume and haven't used drive for years as haven't really had a need but look forward to trying it. For now the Biff Mug is fun 🙂
  2. Just picked up a SpectraDrive and really happy with it. It comes with a PSU but I already use a BOSS PSA230. Will the TC PSU be OK to use as a backup PSU if needed? I only use 4 pedals, TC SpectraDrive and Polytune, MXR bass octave deluxe and EBS Unichorus.
  3. Update ............. Went for the SpectraDrive. Cost a little bit more than other options but extra features like compressor and drive on top of EQ and headphone and aux in made my mind up. And, it can go on my pedalboard so not just a practice tool.
  4. Can you recommend a decent quality daisy chain for 4 pedals with right angled plugs please. I'll be powering a TC Polytune using a BOSS PSA 230 and then taking the power out from that to the other pedals. I'm currently using a BOSS PSA 220A daisy chain to power 3 pedals via a Polytune on a Pedaltrain Nano. I've now added a 4th pedal and they fit, thought it's tight but I now need a daisy chain with right angled plugs because one pedal is MXR so the power socket is on the side. I've never had issues with the BOSS PSA 220A in either my amp of PA so want something of similar quality.

    EBS Unichorus

I have a blue one, with true bypass which is about 5 years old I guess. So far so good. I do like the chorus and flanger combination and use both. The chorus is great with people like Jeff Berlin and Stanley Clarke amongst other using them, and the flanger is not as deep as some but I'm not after huge air plane sounds so works for me
  6. Hi, I'l looking at the LB100 Tribute too in natural. I'm also concerned the neck may be chunky as I have a 50's P bass too but you say it's about the same ? How are you enjoying the LB100 ?
  7. Doing some more research online the Bass Collection Jive basses do look really good for the money. Rosewood fingerboards, slim neck profiles and great colour choices. I think I need to wait until I get out and can try a few basses before I buy but the more I look the more options there seem to be.
  8. Thanks MattW. Yes was thinking about the Sire too.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I already have a MIM Fender fretless Jazz and think the quality is good. Not thought about the Yamaha either so will look out for them too. The Vintage Icon does sound interesting though and from comments about as well as reviews is worth a look. How does it play compared to a Fender with regards to feel and sound?
  10. I do want passive. Got a passive P bass currently and like the tone. Yes, did wonder about the L2000 too. Never played a G&L but I hear dod things about them, even the Tribute series.
  11. I'm looking for a J bass up to £400. So far I'm looking at: Squier Classic Vibe G&L Tribute Vibtage Icon ( do like the look of the relicing) Bass Centre Jive bass Sire V2 What else is worth looking at? How good are those listed above ? I want something I can gig out and am used to a good P bass currently.
  12. So looking for a multipurpose preamp, DI, headphone practice tool and the Harley Benton Bass Expander and TC Electronic Spectradrive stand out so far. Is the TC Spectradrive worth spending double the money of the HB ? Will the HB do the job well? Is there anything I need to look at as well as these ? I need headphone out and AUX in.
  13. I use the MXR BOD and it can do everything, sometimes an issue as I keep changing the settings . They often come up used at a decent price. The new Markbass Octaver Raw Series looks interesting too. Very simple 2 knob layout and under £100.
  14. Thanks. I was looking at Audacity and good to hear what you say. I'll have a look at interfaces
  15. With enforced free time I'm looking for a free or inexpensive practice / recording solution to work with Windows or android. What interface would be best for the bass too? Thanks in advance.
  16. I like Mono gear, I use one of their gig bags but I thought their pedalboard was expensive too so went with the Pedaltrain Nano. I like the look of the Tick bag you can attach to the gig bag but the Nano bag can hook on to the gig bag too.
  17. My P bass with rounds measures in at 3 mm. It would be slightly lower but the frets were levelled a few years ago. My fretless J with flats is about 2.75 mm. Both were measured at the 12th fret. I would consider this a medium action.
  18. Bought a TC Unitune from Lozz and very happy with item, communications and delivery. Thanks very much
  19. Mine has arrived, thanks Lozz196, works a treat
  20. Anyone know where I can find one of these in the UK ?
  21. Good spot. Interesting to see what they price at in the UK.
