  1. And another one from the free 'Foundations' collection - This time, a Synth Bass: Synth Bass - Heavyocity Media
  2. I now seem to remember having an issue with Dorico 4 a few months back when Steinberg started the whole migrating process over to the Download Assistant. I was advised to log out of the the Download Assistant and close it down. Then open the App and log in again. That fixed my issue, so maybe try that?
  3. I presume you are using the new desktop App? If not, here is the link: Steinberg Download Assistant | Steinberg
  4. If you are talking about the (newish) 'Steinberg Download Assistant', it's all working fine for me (I'm on PC). Although, there was an update for it on Friday which took an age to update.
  5. Try the Steinberg/Cubase official forum. You shouldn't really be getting glitches, not on modern day PC's with a decent Audio interface, anyway. You might have to be more specific, but there is always good help about on their board: Latest Cubase topics - Steinberg Forums
  6. Did you download them with version 12 when you upgraded? Or maybe Cubase didn't migrate them over from version 11. Check you 'Steinberg Download Assistant'. It will tell you:
  7. I'm using Nuendo 12 (it's Cubase really with added post production & game stuff). I've not had any problems at all and on my system, it runs very smoothly When you say "Lost all my Loops and Instruments..." 1) Do you mean from the right side browser as in my first screenshot? 2) Or, from the main Media Bay (Hotkey F5 on a PC), second screenshot? 3) "Glitches" sounds like it's possibly your 'Multi Processing, ASIO-Guard, Power Schemes and Buffer sizes/settings etc...', third Screenshot. A few more details might be helpful...Mac, Windows, what Audio unit etc...? Are you running the current update (you can check in your 'Steinberg Download Assistant'?
  8. All Cubase 12 versions now have 40% off through September. Existing owners of earlier versions also have the chance of good update/upgrades to version 12. It seems they have thrown a few freebies in as well. Steinberg are now mostly dongle free apart from a few older VST's. These are still being migrated over to the new system. The new system means you can now use more than one machine at a time. Cubase Sale: Save 40% ➔ Get Free Plug-ins | Steinberg
  9. If any one is interested in some Bass Clef reading practise. Rob Egerton has quite a few Jazz Trombone solos transcribed in his scrolling videos. Rob Egerton Jazz Transcriptions
  10. I remember the original, although, I'm not sure it was a big seller or had a lot of radio play. A good arrangement though: .
  11. I have a few, but this one is getting a lot of listens at moment. I stopped listening to it for a while but, a recent thread kick started it again. "Dave Grusin Presents West Side Story". It has top playing, top singing and terrific arranging. From the album:
  12. I've just seen this Wiki page breakdown of the tune. If you read through, someone has gone into some very fine detail about the track. It looks like there were a couple of VSTi's for the Bass. Don't Start Now - Wikipedia
  13. My oldest boy was recently listening to some old Barrington with Sly & Robbie in the Rhythm section (Youtube), and this popped up. I didn't realise Sly Dunbar's first ever recording was on 'Double Barrel'. He was only 18 at the time.
  14. I did quite a few, a long time back though. P&O ships, a couple of American lines, Greek ships and all pretty varied in destinations as well. Ships Orchestras, Theatre bands, Jazz gigs...It was all sight reading for the shows and cabarets and solid busking for the Jazz sessions. The Jazz was usually on deck or in the small bars. You needed to know plenty of tunes. I didn't do any of the party bands For me, backing the production shows wasn't really that boring. Over two week cruises there would be probably eight to ten shows. Sometimes twice a night though, because of split dinner sittings. I'm glad I did the work because I made plenty of contacts and long term friendships, which led to theatre tours and cabaret shows (both home and abroad), along with some West End stuff. Contract lengths varied - The ones are liked most were the P&O cruises. They were usually two weeks depping (out of Southampton), but I did some three and six month contracts before I got married as well. I quite enjoyed it mostly and visited plenty of decent places.
  15. Yeah, the song form is odd at times, but to my ears, it's a bit more structured than it possibly sounds. The into is a pickup bar of three quavers into one bar of 6/4 - one bar of 4/4 - one bar of 6/4. The verses are in 6/4 until the last two bars of the verses (the sus to major chord bit), those are both in 4/4, apart from when there are drum fills later on, then they become 4/4 & 6/4. The chorus' are just seven bars of 4/4.
  16. That 'Bass Guitar' line is programmed. It's a Kontak VSTi by Native Instruments and it's called 'Scarbee MM-Bass'. I have it and to me. it does sound like the OP sound.
  17. Je t'aime is one of those recordings/sessions when things seem blurred with musicians who were active on the scene back then (and quite often the case with those historic sessions...). I've just found the three page 'TalkBass' thread where Dave Richmond pops up and explains a few things. Serge Gainsbourg - that Je t'aime bass sound (Again) | TalkBass.com
  18. Yeah, indeed, a sad loss. Only 51 as well... I did mention his passing in the 'Off Topic' forum.
  19. Latvian Bassist Whatever.
  20. Yes, sorry maybe on Je t'aime. And now you mention it, I think he popped up on TalkBass two or three years ago and said it was him. It's defiantly Russ on the other two. EDIT: Mind you, I seem to remember getting the info from you about Je t'aime. I think we are all getting too old for this stat stuff.
  21. Yes, a good instrumental with the unmistakable style and sound of Russ Stableford on Bass Guitar. (Je t'aime and Everlasting Love are other Bass credits of his as well). A bit of trivia...Zack Laurence arranged the track and played Piano on it...replacing Elton John's Piano.
  22. Hopefully, Transport for London will start some immediate, mass strikes.
