1. It would be very interesting to do this, but only use one bass (though tell people there are three) and see what people say. There are similar experiments on youtube.
2. I have been lucky enough to have never owned a sh*te bass. I have loaned an epiphone jazz, which I was going to buy, but it was truly horrid.
3. Well, in my opinion. The only way to truly compare something, like in an experiment, there must be a control, a non-variable. The way in which you play and where you play, how much or how little you dig in, how hard you pluck or how smoothly cannot be guarantee uniform, we are human after all. I think you played the first one very smoothly and was your best, the second slightly harder and percussive and the last one, much like the first. If people are really interested in going to the nth degree and doing comparrisons, there needs to be a control. The control would have to be a mechanical devive to guarantee consistancy. But thats kinda silly in my eye. But then, I don't get the need to take things to this degree, its mostly about the fingers. My tuppenceworth. I do hope I haven't created outrage, though this is basschat.
4. I enjoyed listening to what you have done. It is interesting, but for me technique is far too great a factor.
5. Was that with the origional tubes?
6. With regard to the topic, I am concerned it wasn't well or setup incorectly. I play in a Doom band with two guitarists and I have it on 2 with an OBC410. We have some flags on the wall behind my rig (don't ask me why) and I demonstarted on sunday, that the speakers push enough air out of the rear port to flap the flags about. Its loud
7. brutal. I have 4 signed copies whinging their way to me. The rest of band will be happy
8.

Nobody? Ok. This is the best rig/setting/bizzaro photo in this thread. Surely? Does that rig sound any good with a bass?

10. yes, 40 with original tubes, 20 if you replace the tubes with lower gain jobbies.
