  1. Superb cab, just gave mine a run out today with my genz benz streamliner 900watt, put the skids under the rest of the band, this is a great price and you'll never need another cab, GLWTS..........
  2. Beautiful Basses these, just taken stock of the same one, great sound, very versatile, lovely finish, great neck, very fast and very slim for a 5 string even with my small fingers, best 5er I've played, GLWTS...
  3. what a cab it is too, never need to look any further............
  4. Yep it's ebonol ok, the weight is very, very light, haven't got the exact weight to hand but will do so asap, it's a squier so never very heavy, but it sustains a plenty....the neck is as dreamy as they come, and the whole feel of the Bass is a dream, beautiful colour too, if it weren't for the arrival of the Yamaha 5 string it would be staying put........
  5. bought my Duncan Design Pick Ups, paid straight off,. Great guy to deal with, honest, straight forward and a great pleasure to talk to, Cheers Mark
  6. Tomas bought my Squier Tuners, paid straight off, popped them in the post even though he's not that far down the road from me really. Great guy to deal with, honest, straight forward and a great pleasure to talk to, Cheers Mark
  7. wow, trudging that matamp up them hills........
  8. not sure tom, I bought one with an added tone control, but never tried one without to compare, it should sell easy enough as it's a class bass and most people know this, hard to gauge the market sometime, at one time there was a big clamour for these, but for those unsure trust me it's a big sound for very little money, lovely slim fast neck and looks fab...
  9. cracking basses these, really rival a fender p anyday, would love one back in my armoury one day, glwts
  10. Sure you'll sell the Barefaced, there were a lot on here including mine, so hang fire and avoid EvilBays horrendous profiteering, GLWTS.....
  11. I believe this is Andy's first time buying on Basschat, so welcome and watch that the GAS don't explode!!! Andy contacted me regarding the purchase of my Barefaced Compact Gen 1. Swiftly we got on with the details, and monies were sent promptly, item packed and sent and all happy all around. Have no hesitation in dealing with this gent, prompt, efficient and diligent Basschatter, nice dealing with you Andy. Mark (The GroovyPlucker)
  12. I've just sold mine and can't believe how many are up for sale at the same time, usually just an odd one here and there, but trust me it will sell as more and more are realising these are the best Bass cabs ever built, GLWTS, Mark
  13. These are awesome cabs, my Big Twin T is taking the paper off the walls, such definition of sound as well, this one's a very good price too, GLWTS
  14. I know the tone from the pickups I want, just not sure of the tone of any pre-amp, I usually like the Fender stock pre-amps, but the US ones are better than the mex
  15. Ahh, I see, was thinking about changing the preamp as an alternative, I'll open it up and see if there's a gain switch as well, Cheers
  16. I'd like to know your informed opinions on this!!! I have two P/J Basses, Fender Active Mexican and Squier Passive. I have upgraded the Squier to Entwistle PBXN & JBXN pickups, and have it down tuned to BEAD (replacing the idea of a 5 string) The Entwistle pickups are huge, can't even turn the pots up to full, this maybe due to the pickup height, not sure, but they have tremendous output compared with seymour duncans. Also using very lively string which are ghs bass boomers which might be a part of the equation. Having said all that I can use them and tame them ok and the Squier Bass is well usable. Anyhow, was looking at doing the same on my Fender Mex active bass. I find the output is good with stock electronics and pickups but just want to take them to 11 so was gonna put in entwistle or seymour duncans, but after the excess output have been put off enwistle so would go with SPB3's which have the more modern sound I'm after as opposed to SPB2's I usually use, or vintage style SPB1's. My Question is, I've never added new pickups to an Active bass before and I'm wondering if it would alter the character of the bass too much, always upgraded passive precisions or jazz with SD's so I know what to expect. Anyone have experience of a Fender Active with Seymour Duncans, or any other for that matter, Cheers, Mark
