  1. just sold my Zoom B3 to seb, great guy to deal with, easy to talk to, paid straight away, great Basschatter.....
  2. so t-rex would be good then? certainly not a cheapy?
  3. ahh, that's exactly what i thought, put my mind at rest, Voodoo Labs are real expensive though, was thinking of the T-Rex series, nice small footprint, maybe get one before they dissapear as they're going outta business so I hear
  4. you mean a daisy chain pedal for 3 pedals, then going into the brick at the 9v/500ma input? not sure why ehx ship a 9,6v power supply when it runs on 9v, maybe to give it some kinda safety net
  5. Hi, Just picking yer brains on this. Just gone over to separate pedals after years of using multi fx units. Have got a dilemma about 1 particular pedal, EHX Bass Mono Synth. Runs at 9v/125ma, power adaptor is 9.6v for some reason. I've seen a power block/brick thing that has 4-5 9v/100ma outs, plus a couple of 12v, usual, BUT HAS A just one 9v/500ma out, would the Mono Synth be ok to run through this, given it needs more Milliamps than your regular pedal, others I have are 9v and varying ma, all less than 100. Also, seen lots of power blocks at varying prices, can't remember which one has the 9v/500ma out, what's your recommendations on a good one, then need to find a decent pedal board/bag/case etc, pedal train seem ok, again some cheaper one's around the net, not going massive budget, but not tat either, Cheers
  6. thought the boss pedal might be, that's pretty good all in from the EU, will try my EHX mono synth pedal first, if not successful may jump up to the future impact...
  7. do you mind me asking how much it cost from Panda, it's about £350 on ebay from a seller in canada, similar prices from the US, also, is the Boss Synth pedal really that bad??
  8. cheers again Quatschmacher, turning into my personal guru, d'ya reckon you could take a 3.5mm connector from the back of my pc's soundcard to the aux at the back of my mbass amp, wanted to try using the bass with the amp for rehearsing songs so I've a better idea of the pedal levels for full rehearsal later, Cheers Mark
  9. Back again.... What's the best way to set up these 3 pedals coming my way. EHX Bass Mono Synth, EHX Bass Soul Food (Overdrive), Boss TU-3 Tuner. EHX say the Mono Synth should be the first in the chain, if so is this 1st pedal from the amp? Same idea, what are your thoughts on the same scenario from my computer. Starts with a soundblaster soundcard, into a Tapco mixing desk, then the 3 pedals daisy chained is how I run it, or will when they turn up. Had this set up before with the Zoom B3 as last in chain from pc, trouble is when I used the unit with the amp at rehearsal it was way loud. Maybe figure a way of setting up my amp n cab with headphones and figure a way of plugging the pc in via aux, I use a MarkBass Ninja 1000w head. That way I should be able to keep the fx at the right level whilst blending in the song I'm rehearsing to from itunes. AS YOU CAN TELL I'M NOT GREAT AT CABLING AND PATCHING, Found a system that works well with the bass into the pc so I can practice the covers I'm doing, but might need looking at again. Your thoughts, as ever, would be most welcome, Cheers, Mark
  10. there's the boss sy-300 I was looking at, not sure if anyone's had any experience with this unit, no latency apparently....
  11. sure, it's like anything, learn from experience of using, as i have done with Basses n cabs down the years from this brilliant resource, I really only appear on here when I'm buying or selling, but have found every user, buyer, seller to be magnificent, it's so important to a geographically isolated Bass Player to be kept in the know, if I was on the Mainland as "we" call it I'd at least have a chance to try b4 buy, but over here there's nowt, also nowt apart from rock n feckin country, if the last audition doesn't come about the synth bass has to wait a while... back on track...I do like the look of ehx, they're obviously aiming for boutique on a budget, which is what i am, but they seem to reach some plaudits for it, time will tell, have 2 of their pedals coming my way, we'll see how this Rabbit Hole ends up....
  12. on a more serious note, i've never tinkered with effects that much, mainly cos I'm a bit too lazy to start tinkering with parameters etc, much more of a plug n play man, which the market likes of course, this 80's scenario i'm currently immersed in has forced my hand, in a good way, into getting some of that sound....pedals tho are a minefield, boutique, shabby chic....where does it end....oh, i know, declared bankruptcy....
  13. cheers al, can I call you al, you can call meeee al......back on track.....when did we decide to have so much choice...be confused dot com.....sorry, i'm drunk....
  14. buy it and post a video review, save me doing a dodgy one, what wi my playing n'all.....
  15. Cheers Quatschmacher, i'll have to come back to you on tips for set up if i do..........
  16. Ah well, I'll give the EHX a run out and see where it goes, you guys have been a real source of info and inspiration, btw, does anyone where you can get the F1 cheaper than ebay, only one i can find is £350 in Canada, few in the states about the same, also can you run the octaver and effect at the same time in the F1? guess so as yer man just said he did...
  17. that's true, still might invest on an octave pedal and do what yer man said there, or maybe the kidney, make pre gig drinks a bit diff tho...
  18. bugger, I play whitney on a 5 string down a step too, see how we get on, might get an octave pedal as well, thanks for the info
  19. it's actually 125ma, most 9v seem to go to 120ma, not sure it'd do in a 18v slot, would that be shoving too much voltage in it? the ma setting for 18v is higher than the 9v
  20. sweating now, better not be any latency, otherwise you'll see it in the relevant for sale section, I'll then be selling a kidney to fund the F1 thing
  21. Jeez, I hope there's no drag or drop out, the video demo seem to suggest not, it might be a while tho as I need them all to arrive, and get a decent power supply for them all, the ehx has it's own, 9.6v/125ma, it's the milliamps I'm struggling with as most 9v multi power adaptors only go as far as 120ma, not sure if the ehx would tip it over the edge.
  22. well, I've gone and done it, got the EHX Mono Bass Pedal, along with an EHX Bass Soul & Boss TU-3 Tuner, just looking at a power supply for em all together, have seen the T-Rex but they're dear, plus the Mono Synth uses 125 milliamps, so not sure. What way would you daisy chain them? Tuner 1st from amp, then Bass Soul/Overdrive, then Mono Synth last, this is the pedal I reckon I'd use the most, Cheers Mark
  23. that's just it, agreed with the soft cell, just finished doing whitney/ i wanna dance with somebody, plenty of keys, bass is a bass synth, also looking to nail commodores/nightshift, know there's lots of discussion elsewhere on that one, might try emulate paul young/pino palladino, again, another long involved discussion for another day, but the likes of chaka khan, heaven 17, human league, plus many more, all can use a reasonably basic bass synth sound, not getting bogged down in individual nuances etc....
