1. Hi, Massively different, much more tonality, especially on the P pick up, but better again with the PJ together, the J on it's own is a touch weak, but the good thing about it is you can swap out the pick ups if need be as they're regular size. The finish on it is far superior to the Squier, I had a mexican bass before and hated it as it was so badly finished, but this is supreme, the neck nearly as smooth as an american one imho. I think the Squier pickups are quite loud, this one is a bit quieter, but without loss of presence. But that's the difference between a £700 bass (original price) and a £200 Squier, much better build and better components. I initially was gonna use both mustangs, one tuned down, one standard, but I'm going back to 32-34 scale basses now. There's a few good video demos, the official fender one is good and probably the closest to what i think it sounds like. Take a punt, it'd pair up well with the Squier!! Cheers Mark
2. This is a cracking Bass for a great price, I know I had one, wish I hadn't let it go, if I had the readies.......have a bump on me, glwts
3. Hi Karl, No, I wasn't intending on selling it on to be honest but am thinking of going back to regular scale. Only bought this brand new a couple of weeks ago. if it don't sell then no drama, but if it does want to recoup as much of the money I paid for it. It is a beauty, would go well with the Squier. Mark.
4. Thanks for the testimony, you're right, they're great, and I may well regret it, oh god, choices, choices, etc...............
5. Lovely, a touch pricey though, seen them go for a lot less......
6. PRICE DROP FOR QUICK SALE Just a feeler, as I might go back to full scale Bass for a while. Any interest in this 2 month old Bass. She's a Beauty. Doesn't come with a case, didn't ship with one, might be able to find one around somewhere if needed, but will be carefully packed for postage. £475 inc shipping, as they're £550ish new now, and as mentioned only had this a month, hasn't been out of the house. 7. Just sold my Squier VM Mustang Bass to Karl. Top bloke to deal with, easy communication, fast payment, straight-forward and pleasurable sale. Thoroughly recommended, The GroovyPlucker
8. Just seen this review after buying the Mono M80 Dual Bass case. Got it off evil bay £175 used, which I thought was a good price, although it's not arrived yet. This Fusion one looks great too, would be good to have a head to head review, they both seem to present pro's and cons, as with most things of course. Great review by the way, The GroovyPlucker
9. Just to note, Jay-syncro is a top guy to deal with, good luck with the sale...... Mark
10. Up for grabs is my Squier Vintage Modified Mustang Bass in Candy Apple Red, Fender Special Run FSR. Bought as a back up but not now needed. It was bought new but shop damaged just a couple of months ago. I've only used it in the house. The damage is shown in the pictures, which consists of small chunk/knock on the body work, a couple of marks on the back of the neck (near the body, and some marks on the back of the headstock. None of this affects the playability of this Short scale Bass. The finish on it is lovely, very thin neck, pretty high output from the duncan design pickups, more than I expected. Comes without a case as I didn't get one with it, or have a spare sadly, but will be packed carefully for shipping, unless you're local to Northern Ireland. SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE U.K. WILL BE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE SO PLEASE CONTACT ME FIRST. TRADES ACCEPTED, FENDER OR SQUIER ONLY, well, probably.....also not averse to amps, cabs, Fender SKB case, Fender Leather Padded Strap, all gear considered, as I need that more than an excess Bass....... Fender Special Run Fender Special Run basses have been specifically commissioned at the request of individual retailers, and built to their specifications. FSR are not regular production models and are more unique compared to models that are available all year round. Classic Sound The Modified Mustang Bass is equipped with a special design split single-coil Mustang Bass pickup. This high fidelity pickup opens up the frequency response and delivers a classic tone that can be applied to any type of music. Controlling this split single coil is easy with master volume and tone control knobs. Short Scale Bass Unlike standard bass guitar scales, the Modified Mustang Bass features a shorter scale length of 30". It is particularly well suited for players with smaller hands such as younger musicians, and also perfect for players who prefer a shorter scale. Another benefit of this scale of bass is that it provides a comfortable, fast-playing neck that isn't such a stretch. C-Shaped Neck Profile The Vintage Modified Mustang Bass features a "C"-shaped neck profile, which leaves a small pocket of space between the palm of the players hand and the guitar neck, providing ultimate comfort and easier access to the frets. This particular neck profile is common with many Squier and Fender Basses, and as it allows the players fingers move freely across the fingerboard, and therefore offers optimum performance. 11. I had one and they aren't heavy at all, quite the opposite, Aria's and Westone Jap Basses were heavier........
12. Just traded my amp for his on here. Great guy to deal with, very easy to communicate with and prompt with it, quick to resolve any issues that may arise, shipped my item and took great care and diligence in doing so. 15. No worries, thanks for the responses, I'll reassess this sale, not giving it away for nowt obviously, this is a quality Bass no matter what's said about cheapest mass produced (sure they're all mass produced), it's also quite a unique Bass in it's application, has to be heard to be believed.......still wanting a good Mustang for trade....surely someone has a Pawn Shop or Jap Mustang for trade somewhere............all for now, Cheers Mark
16. Hi, I don't think so, but they're incredibly hard to find, and as with all Fenders they gain value, I do believe it's worth every penny, obviously I'd like to get as much as poss for it, without stinging anyone on the way, would be interested to hear peoples views on it as there's very few of them out there to compare with, pricewise that is, Thanks Mark
