7.
There's nowt wrong with horse - well tasty meat, that.
I was once given horse ribs in a basket in Padua, swilled down with a glass of the local fizzy wine. Lovely. Apologies to Mrs Clarky but I was a poor, starving archaeologist in those days and would, frankly, eat anything put in front of me.
8. If it's in any consolation my second (or third) bass was a Burns Flyte. I was convinced it had a plastic body and an aluminium neck. I'm still not entirely sure
9. Nice, might have to start stalking your gear instead of Clarky's for a bit
10. All the way from page 9 type reminder. Blimey, I remember when it was all fields round here

12.
Cheers Deaver, I don't get into Salisbury much, but sometimes go to the blues jam at the Shoe Inn at Plaitford. It's the 3rd Sunday of every month IIRC. I used to go to the Rugby Club on Castle Road on 1st Wed of the month, but I think that's stopped - not 100% sure though. It's also worth popping into Conran's in Salt Lane for Music4Fun, which is the last Thursday of every month. That's a bit more of an open-mic vibe, but can be fun. In fact, if you're interested in this sort of thing, check out this page for more jams around the area and further afield. All the best, Stuee.
And thank you Stuee. Not much of a jammer myself I have to be honest but thanks for the info. Regarding Salisbury, Robb Blake runs an Open Mic/Jam night the third Wednesday of every month at the Winchester Gate, there's usually a spot for a bass player (he's always moaning at me for not giving it a go). I didn't there was/is one at the rugby club, we're probably playing there in March so I'll ask about that one
13. Hello Stuee. Impressive stuff, I'm in Salisbury if you want to have a jaw about basses and basschat sometime
14. Can anyone point me in the direction for a basic cha cha bass line? Apologies if it's already on here.
15. What's the string spacing on this? (asks the man who said he isn't going to buy another 5 string)

Iconic

Just completed a very smooth sale of a fretless VMJ to Richard. A real pleasure to deal with. Top class bloke.
18. Cheers for the above comments Gus. I'm starting to err towards a Fenderbird conversion job on this, so if you want to save the integrity of this bass get in quick. Edit: Forgot to add trades (4 strings, frets) welcomed as well now
19. Photograph at the top of the page, fresh faced young fella on the left (1985 model). The super eagle-eyed may just be able to make out a Burns Flyte - I'm still trying to find a decent picture of it for this thread.
20. "Please stop me doing a botched Fenderbird job on this" bump.
21. Looking for trade bump
22. Bump for added pictures

24.
How far south (and east and west come to that) is 'further south than desirable' ?
Salisbury, sorry it's tucked away right at the bottom of my signature and not very visible
