1. Just an update regarding the strings really. I've ordered 3 sets of 40-100 gauge strings from www.juststrings.com, they charge a flat $20 overseas postage rate so obviously bulk is best. The total cost for three sets will be around £75 (£90 if import duty is imposed) thus £25-£30 a set which seems a decent deal. Two sets are for myself and one set is for Clarky. If it all goes well I'd be quite happy to order more sets in for the UK Alembic players on here, I'll be charging at cost (possibly adding the price of a pint to the complete order total). PM me if your interested or if you spot a better deal elsewhere. Back to the Spoiler, my scales suggests that the black Spoiler might be up to 1.5 pounds heavier than the maple one - surely it can't be paint alone - or do Alembic have a secret tonal ingredient in the paint? 2.
9:30 ish. There's a late bar after the gig too. I'll even buy you a cold one.
Tempting but the late bar might kill it off, I'd have to get the 23:07 from Putney to get back to Salisbury. You never know though, I could shove on a silver wig and pass myself off as one of Clarky's long-lost cousins and bag a bed for the night
 3. I'd almost forgotten this was here. Trades maybe? God knows what mind you.
 4. Clarky's old Spoiler again, A recent and remarkable entry into the Deaver household, never really had myself down as an Alembic enthusiast. I still can't quite do it justice with the camera - patio could do with a weed as well. 5. Completed a very easy going transaction with Dave recently, super fast payment despite giving him the wrong bank details to begin with (I really am getting old). All good stuff.

 7. Big thanks to John for this, Excellent venue and excellent company. The three hours absolutely raced by, I'll get some pictures and further comment up shortly - phone to laptop is chugging along at 20 bpm as we speak.
 8. Okey dokey, should definitely be there now. Will come armed with a bunch of recent acquisitions; MTD Kingston Heir, Alembic Spoiler and LM2. Deaver Jnr will taking the cab space up so no cab I'm afraid
 9.
Spent an enjoyable hour standing on a street corner in Slough (yes, really - Slough!) with Clarky last night
There's a theme developing here. I spent an enjoyable 5 minutes standing on a street corner with Clarky in Kensington (better class of deal obviously) on Wednesday night picking up my new toy from him. I know it's all been said before but he is a complete and utter star and the forum would be a vastly poorer place without him.
 10. Yesterday afternoon strictly speaking. Farm Fest 2010, West Dean nr Salisbury. Well organised, well serviced and surprisingly good sound. A little advertising might have been helpful though...

 15.
I think the bass looks pretty good. It's obviously not a showpiece or anything but really it doesn't matter as long as it sounds good and feels nice lolz.
I'm just amazed it works
The MM routing look a bit rough, but looks good. Great result for a first time project Also, it looks incredibly similar to my "japcrap" project
Thanks for all the comments -I'll have look for Protiums project in a while The routing is indeed rough, it's the original routing off a Mex Fender P/MM which had been filled with wood filler then hacked out with a chisel by me. Other rough spots to note - the defret and wood filler on the neck, it was quite a laugh to do though; the interesting neck pocket gap on the upper horn side; the lack of string tree, it was on briefly but when I tightened the strings it went SPROING across the room and disappeared into a pile of crap. It makes quite an interesting noise though, the front pot is a blend pot and it the right position gives a really distinctive tone. Also the wood finish has come out quite well for what was a complete leap into the dark. In time I'd like to put a white blocked and bound neck on and possibly rejig the electrics
