I've got one!.... it's a great amp! *BUMP*
Thanks Bottomfeed. I'm getting some very positive comments from our sound tech and fellow musos on my sound at the moment so starting to think I should be keeping this. I'm confused.

I know what you mean about the E and A but tonally they were quite tight. Don't really want to go down the route of trying various strings as a bit expensive for DB so hopefully I won't feel the need to for sometime.
Hi Alan that is very nice and very similar to the Sei, how do they compare?
Hi Steve, Build quality and construction pretty similar compared to my old SEI original. Although dare I say the pickup routing and finish on the Shuker wins by a whisker. Both side leds. Neck is a little more stable on the Shuker which may be down to the 2 graphite inserts. The Shuker sits back into the body a little more which suits me. I went for a slightly wider string spacing than the SEI. Soundwise the Shuker is more of an all rounder which is what I wanted from a 5 string at this time. Thats more to do with the pickups and circuit though. I was considering changing these on the SEI but got the new bass bug again. I can't take anything away from Martin at SEI as I've had 5 new and used since the early 90s but I would have paid minimum an extra £500 to have the same spec bass by SEI.

So I've just bought a Bassix all composite EUB which I've been looking to do for a while now. Soundwise it's appears to do the opposite of my old NS CRM4, as in it sounds very very close to an acoustic upright which is what I've been looking for without spending mega bucks. Partly the reason for this seems to be the strings fitted which are Salty Dogg Nylons. Immediately liked the feel, tension and tone. Having only used steel core db strings in the past on the NS, does anyone know of a downside to using nylons, specifically this make ? Do they break easily etc. At no more than £25.00 a set you can't go wrong. I'm not a heavy player and won't be slapping or pulling as in the rockabilly world where this type of string are often used.

I would normally avoid Behringer gear but I can recommend their Mackie clones... excellent mini mixers. They do a similar version to the one in your picture. Bought mine several years back for in-ear monitoring and still going strong for other purposes.
Blimey you kept this quiet, nice to see another lefty and a stunner at that!
I'm sure I mentioned this bass in another thread, but could be wrong. I'll be using this one doing some recording next month for Korg. They are looking for new bass samples to include in future sound modules/keyboards.

Having a bit of a clear out so selling this Ashdown amp which is in perfect working order. Used on last nights gig and all works fine. Sub-harmoniser is useful as an octaver type effect. Condition is very good with only some minor blemishes to the top of the unit at rear. Comes with original Ashdown soft cover as shown on top of the amp. Output is 325 watts into 4 ohms. Looking for £225.00 including postage or £210.00 cash on collection from South London.

Some very nice basses posted so far. Well I've had this one for sometime now so an ideal opportunity to share. Unfortunately I don't have any images of the whole bass apart from live pics but I'm sure you don't want my face spoiling it. Your not missing much else though as it's headless.

Post-gig "hangover" symptoms (not booze-related!)
whynot replied to Captain Bassman's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like your not getting enough rest... which is exactly my problem as I also do a day job and 2 or 3 gigs a week. It's that jet lag feeling fo me, bought on by late gigs and trying to stick to a normal day routine. Not good for your health. Going straight to bed when getting in from a gig is the all I can suggest although I have trouble sticking to that myself. I'm off to a gig on the Isle of Wight in a few hours. Probably won't be home till 6-7 in the morning. No sleep till Wednesday night which means I'll be a zombie throughout thursday. Interestingly some of the guys in my band who do nothing else apart from the band always seem to complain how tired they are after 3 gigs in a row. -

Bit of a feeler as they say just to see if any interest.... Genz Neo-Pak 3.5 in great condition with gigbag and rack ears. Sorry the rack case is not included. This is the 2 ohm version at 500 watts, 350 watts at 4 ohm. I've been told the sound is very similar to a shuttle 6.0, but I've never tried a Shuttle so can't comment on that. Looking for £425.00 plus £15.00 postage.
Hmmm.... I live waaaaay too far away to pick up (Carlisle). but I should be in London at the end of September... If its still going, any chance of meeting up then?
There is a good chance it will still be here as I'm not pushing the sale and only advertised here. No prblem in meeting as long as I'm around.

Markbass LMII and LMK amps... are they meant to sound different ?
whynot replied to loweringthetone's topic in Amps and Cabs
I agree with your comparison on this. I tried an LM11 last year and wondered what all the fuss was about. Bought an LMK on here a few weeks back and loved it. More life and sparkle from the eq and louder. -
I used Alligator cabs years ago but not the amps. First came accross them when I bought a 4x10 from bassist John Curry around mid 90s. Used it on several gigs but it was quite heavy so visited the factory near Slough IIRC and ordered 2 2x10s. The drivers were Volt. Nothing flimsy about them and very well made. Same goes for the combos from what I remember from the factory

I know Mike took some pointers from the Tech Soundsystem cabs design when he use to stock them. Note the side handles are also the same as what Tecamp use. Its good to see a british manufacturer undercutting the majority of imports as well as providing something comparable.
