What's the difference apart from 300 watts? And does that 300 watts make much difference in an otherwise near identical amp? I'm looking to go back down the micro head path and these 2 are on my radar.
ok, so alot of thinking has been done on this one but i am putting one of my Shuker Jazz's up for sale, need the cash and not playing a much these days so looking to move it on, its a superb bass looking for round about £900, will get more pics done, but you get the idea with this one http://www.flickr.co...157624420877656 Build Dairy, and more pics http://basschat.co.u...huker-number-2/
Always liked the look of this bass. Shame I've no spare cash and have decided to go back to playing 5 string for most gigs. Best of luck with the sale.

One club/funstion band I use to play with.... If I felt we didn't play or sang well and said so, the guitarist would always say "well they were dancing".

I like the look. It would have been nice to have hit the ground running with a unit delivering 500+ watts but I doubt we will see a higher wattage version till the HD350 is discontinued.

TC RH450 ... & which 12 or 2x12 cab (othe than TC cabs)
whynot replied to Tradfusion's topic in Amps and Cabs
True, but the speaker is gonna do the same thing with that power & turn it into sound regardless of how much it gets .
The tone can be different though, depending on if the cab is 4 or 8 ohms and what it draws from the amp. Whether it's down to the speaker/s working harder I don't know. Technically not my strong point. I had 3 Tech Soundsystem Neo 4x10's at one point, with one of those being 8 ohms and the other two 4 ohms. At low volume very little difference. When the cabs were being driven independently there was a difference tonally between the 4 and 8 ohm cabs. -
TC RH450 ... & which 12 or 2x12 cab (othe than TC cabs)
whynot replied to Tradfusion's topic in Amps and Cabs
I had a GK Neo Series 2x12 cab at the same time as my RH450 and was a very good match to my ears. My cab was 8 ohms though, so was not getting the full power out of the amp. One cab for sale on here that would work very well is a Tech Soundsystems Neo 2x12. Just over 40lbs weight. I think the seller is in Essex but may be worth checking if shipping is an option. -
Great little Line 6 bass combo in very good condition. 1x10 driver, 75 watts. Nice onboard compressor, Good DI out. Various useable presets. R&B being my fav. I've had this for a few months and has been gigged about 10 times. The picture is from one of my regular gigs at the Bobby Moore room, Wembley. It's a loud little thing, although for any gigs I've used it on there has been house PA, so never pushed. Only reason for selling is that I'm looking to pickup a used Promethean 1x10 combo in the next couple of days with a view to using for these gigs plus the detachable head option will be useful. Comes with original box and manual. Looking for £120. Collection preferred but can post for £20. Thanks for looking.

Turned down a band - have I made the right choice?
whynot replied to Musicman20's topic in General Discussion
Comes to most of us I think at some point. The last time I actually enjoyed doing anything original was recording a friends CD about 15 year back. We promoted it on a few gigs and the novelty soon wore off. Another friend asked me to join his originals band a couple of months back and I just knew it was something I would regret driving to the first rehersal as my heart wouldn't be in it, plus it wouldn't be long before one of my paid gigs clashed and I know which one I'd rather do from both a financial and enjoyment perspective. Always nice to be asked though. -
I think the cab will compliment the Ashdwon just right. I've used my Super 12 on 2 gigs so far with 2 different basses and amps. The only thing I'm haven't got use to yet is the clarity of the cab. I thought my Tech SS 4x10 was uncoloured (for want of a better word) but this really is what you put in you get out I think.

have you ever taken your bass playing from a singer..

I never practise, but I only recently realised how much my playing was influenced by the vocals/melody when gigging. -
The Kingbass just didn't sit right on me. Top horn too short and kept digging into my sternum. I need the upper strap fixing further to my left than the body shape allows.
Exactly the same issue with me. I contacted Rob to see if there was a way round it but no, and he acknowledged some other people querying the same. Soundwise great.

Had a 5 bolt-on Kingbass a few years back. Would probably buy it back if it became available, but the reason I sold was I didn't find it that comfortable when gigging. If you want something that sits against the body like a jazz or Precision then forget it. I had the 32" bendwell with 16.5 string spacing. The neck was a joy to play (when sitting down).

Thanks WOT. I'm going back to a micro head at some point and the 900 is one to try.

I went through much of the Trace range in the 90's. Never had a problem with the amps, just the cabs. Main amps I used were the original AH250 and a couple of later SMX heads. Used with 2x10 Alligator cabs mostly during that period. I did an overseas gig last year and the bass rig laid on was the latest Trace 4x10+1x15 and I think the current 500w head. Initially I smiled and thought this isn't so bad.... then I plugged in and turned it on. Just couldn't get a decent sound out of it all night, but would like to have tried the head with a different cab.
