This has got me thinking about my first basses (all left handed). Started with a Jenson, short scale £22.50 Followed by Watkins Rapier £50.00 Followed by the Mustang £150.00 Joined a band so bought a Precision from Chappells of Bond St (less than £300 I think) but couldn't get on with it, so swapped for a US Jazz. Used that for a couple of years and did my first studio work on the Jazz. 2 years later joined a more serious originals band due to tour Germany in a month so wanted to get something that I felt was right for that and found a lefty Wal Custom brand new in a shop in Romford for £680. Parents had to lend me the money. That was my only bass for 10 years into the 90's followed by Warwicks, carbon Schacks, Esh and the rest.
Strange. I wish Fender Japan would make a lefty Mustang bass.
I had a US one in the early 80's. I remember buying it used for £150 in Shaftesbury Ave. Don't know if it was a good deal then or not, probably not. Wish I still had all my early basses.
If no lefty instruments had been made and acoustic guitars had not been symetrical more leftys would of learnt the right handed way wouldn't they? Not many lefty orchestral players is there?
A lot would, and a lot wouldn't. I for one would never have had the pleasure of playing an instrument, making a living from it and seeing parts of the world many dream of. My life would have been completely different. Many true left handed players are not in orchestras, because of the lack of left handed instruments available at the teaching stage. Those who are could adapt, many cannot. In answer to the opening post.... I don't know.

Behringer is crap! - is it? do we give labels too much weight?

I have a 4 channel Behringer mixer. Purchase around 15 years ago for stage in-ear monitoring control. Used 2-3 times a week for 4 years. Been in the garage for 10. Fired it up a few weeks back and works perfectly. My only experience of Behringer so far but a positive one. -
Pino Palladino...once again...how sh*t hot is he?
Well, you're correct it was The Who with Entwistle and I too saw them with him several times in early 70s. However, when I saw them with Palladino a few years back I was much happier with the bass. YMMV. I realise 99% of people will disagree with me.
Loved the Who back then and would be a real bonus to see Moon and Entwistle if were still around, but I'm very much looking forward to hearing and seeing a better/tighter rhythm section covering those songs. Probably an age thing. -
Never got Entwistle or his, IMO, terrible terrible tone.
It was right for The Who. I've got a couple of tickets for the o2 gig this June and sitting on the Pino side. Kind of a 40th anniversary for me as my first gig was seeing the Who in 1973 at a very, very young age and being the reason why I wanted to play an instrument. -

Was planning to come to this today but the later part of the week went a bit crazy and ended off with a pretty nasty cold. Look forward to seeing more pictures.

GigSkinz bag for sale. Suitable for small amps such as Little Mark and RH750 size. Additional zipped pockets for leads. The bag has been used but still in good condition with zips working and no tears. Some beads in the front flap are loose internally (just hear them moving when lifting flap). Maybe this is normal but just thought I'd mention it. Only reason for selling is I have a couple of other bags and just having a clearout of items I don't use anymore. £22.00 posted.
Wow that Spector is really nice looking. I am very very tempted. But £850 is a bit too much on the Cash to GAS ratio..... Hopefully will see one at the bass show this weekend. Spector will have a stand.
I'm sure they will be showing this one or the 5 string version.

Real Electronics will replace buttons under warranty, 2 years I think. If they agree to go ahead with repair (which they should) make sure they cover courier collection cost as well so you have no cost to you. If outside of warrant or receipt issue I would contact TC customer services as a recognised issue.

Someone else needs educating, but I really can't be arsed. Thats not in response to your post Slatfatf.

I was watching that one as I have a couple of gigs it would be perfect for, but lost interest past the £200 mark.

Further details in the Lefty For Sale thread, page 77/78. Listed here as sometimes items in that thread are missed. Virtually As New, unmarked Spector 10th anniversary Rebop 4 MM. Only several weeks old. Super lightweight. Only reason for selling is I want to stay with 5 strings for gigs. Looking for £850.

Comes with original box, power adaptor and I have the manual somewhere which hopefully I'll find in the next day. I've reset to factory settings and all is working fine. I'm looking to go back to a couple of separate pedals and not getting the full use out of this which is the only reason for selling. I came up with a synth bass tone which is all I've recently been using for. Not sure what the used value is on these but will put a price of £220 including postage. Thanks for looking.
