I actually prefer the sound of the earlier Tech Soundsystem cabs. They changed the drivers for the Tecamp range. But then the Tecamp amps are in a different class to the TS. Tech S amps unfortunately were getting a reputation for the odd issue. Not so with the Tecamp range of amps I understand.

Up for sale is my EBS Octabass in very good condition. True bypass version. I'm looking to eventually go back to an all-in-one multi effects unit which is the only reason for selling. Will sell for £85 including postage.

I was there too. Think I still have the A4 folder they gave out in my garage. Didn't learn a lot really as I only signed up to see Entwistle.

Anyone seriously considering the Bose system, take a look at the cheaper LD Maui 28. I know a couple of bands that use them and never looked back.

The last one I gigged with got locked up for 2 years. I don't think he knew JS.

How much were they selling that Streamer for out of interest? Found a site but no stock basses listed.

I've played with the internal mid control but it's not really helping. I'm going to spend a couple of hours with it again including playing with the action and pickup height, just to eliminate everything before taking it in for some pro help. Thanks for the comments.

Hi All, I'm thinking of replacing the circuit in one of my basses as when engaged it appears to be sucking out the punch in upper strings (D, G). Lows are incredibly thick and punchy, the highs gain the usual active zing but lose any thickness that was there in passive mode. I've started using the bass in passive which I do quite like but I'm missing the option to change tone on-board. So, must be 3 band eq, active/passive option. Any suggestions welcome.

[/quote] Yep, we all have an opinion and most importantly we should be able to appreciate someone's ability even if not to our own taste.

Mark King is not to my taste either, much prefer Marcus if I have to listen to slap.

Bass or not, just listening without watching the videos was not pleasant to my ears. But good for them putting it out there as I'm sure many will appreciate it.

With me it's probably an age this as to why I do party bands at this time. Did the originals, record company thing in my early 20's then drifted into doing covers a few years later. Come to realise that what I enjoy most is playing in front of good crowds with good musos and getting paid for it. The past 10 years or so I have had the pleasure to play with some of the best musicians you could ever hope to find, and not one original song. On the other hand, I've done a few bands that could be tagged with the term 'soul destroying', so can appreciate some people may have a bad experience doing cover bands which may put them off for life.
