1. I suppose it comes down to what you're used to. I've always thought that if I ever get a six string bass I'll tune it B to B. Having the top string as C would confuse me and bugger up any chordal stuff I might want to do.
2. Sell it. Someone out there will love it & you can get something you'd be happier with.
3.
Sorry if this is a report but just went on Guitar Guitar there and first advert that clocked my eye was new Sandberg Stock. Which led me to see this absolute beauty http://www.guitargui...01535008-438450 I think I'm in love!
To me that's a perfect example of a beautiful bass that would look so much better without the relicing.
4.
All at once?
Many years ago I saw Fun Loving Criminals live and on a couple of songs the bass player was hammering on notes with his left hand whilst simultaneously playing the trumpet. Could be something for Andyjr1515 to aspire to?
5. I'm guessing I can't use my newbie discount in conjunction with this code? So unfortunately I think hi beams will be cheaper from Amazon.
6. My Washburn Status is active with a single tone control. I've never been exactly sure what it cuts/boosts but there's significantly more variation in tone than you get on a passive bass. Edit: I think the Status Energy (I have no connection to the seller) in the for sale section has a similar arrangement, maybe the seller knows a bit more about it.
7. I down loaded cookie about half an hour a go on the strength of this thread.I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far.
8.
Doesn't Thundercat play a fat semi?
That's a massive 6 string Ibanez-custom-shop-available-to-endorsees-only job. The aforementioned Artcore would be the closest match, although I don't think Thundercat's is short scale.
9. I've been getting a bit of a buzz off it recently, I can really hear myself improving after being on a plateau for what felt like a long time.
10. January in Skeggy? Tell your friends to wear their thermals.
11. Used to go there on day trips in the 70s/early 80s when I was a kid. It's allegedly on the coast although I never actually saw the sea as it's one of those places where the tide goes out miles. Good for fish and chips though.
12. I was gassing for a p bass for a while, but realistically I'm always going to want a bridge pickup. So my current gas has changed focus to something from the Yamaha BB range.
13.
I would also avoid using Bluetooth for playing bass. However, for video playback, some players automatically adjust when connected to Bluetooth, I know the nPlayer app I use on my iPad does not do this but it does have a manual slider to adjust the delay!
I shall look into that, cheers.
14.
Any love for Bose? Was contemplating investing in a bluetooth set (Soundlink) over ears type.
Not sure about Bluetooth for practice. I've got a Bluetooth speaker which is great for music but the latency makes it unusable in conjunction with visual media - every film you watch looks like it's been really badly dubbed. I imagine the delay would , at best, be really irritating if you tried to use it for practice, although its quite possible the latency issues have been resolved since I got my speaker.

It'd be interesting to know how many musical instruments are sold in the UK on an average week. I bet it's not that many. If you look specifically at guitars and basses it's going to be a lot less.
16. Robert Glasper Trio. It's more trad jazz than his later stuff with the Robert Glasper Experiment but still very pleasant.
17. Maybe it wasn't heavy enough?
18. Exactly the wrong time in the payday cycle for me otherwise I'd be bidding. Always wanted to try one of these (well the original urge, anyway)since I saw a review in a mag in the early 90s. Anyone want to speculate on what it might go for? Edit: After a swift bit of online research it looks like anything under a grand would be a bargain.
19.
I don't know how true it is, but a fellow bass player told me a while back that record companies buy 'packages' of PR - which might include a slot here, a performance there, and that was how bands got on to 'Later', simply by buying their way on. As I say, I can't validate this, but it makes sense as to the amount of rubbish they put on!
I'm sure there are various agents and record company reps who lobby & pitch to get their 'artists' a slot on Later. I'd be very surprised if any money changes hands, I doubt the BBC would want to risk the scandal.

G&L

I think Bass Direct have a few, but I don't think many US G & L instruments reach these shores. I've been keeping half an eye open for an Asat to try for years and I've only ever found a couple in stock in the whole of the UK, usually at the other end of the country. Edit : Just had a look on BD's website and it all seems to be tributes at the moment, sorry. Might be worth speaking to them though.
21.
I hate the fact that most guitarists I've played with buy this as their first pedal and feel that they need to use it all the time...
A good distortion/drive pedal is very useful for quiet home practice but I'd agree that a lot of them don't sound great in a live band situation. There aren't any effects that I intrinsically hate, but I've heard a lot of guitarists use effects that I didn't think worked particularly well with the music they were playing. That's largely a personal taste thing. A bit of funky guitar through a wah peddle is a wonderful thing though.
22. Since reading the 'how much for a Sadowsky Metro' thread and doing a bit of online research, a Sadowsky Metro.
23. I got my hartke 3500 in 1990 and it's had a fair bit of use over years and never given me a moments trouble. The 4x10 Carlsboro I bought at the same time is another story though.
