2.
Rhythm Stick. Badly
Me Too!
3. Hello from london , i'm Ipswich born and bred and a blue through and through.

5. Sorry, that A String, 14th fret was from me, but i deleted it after i read the one note per person bit... Then Ped added another note after it! Sorry for screwing up such a simple thing! ha ha!
6. Ha ha, great idea, I'm in! -------5-------- ---------17--5- -7------4------ ---5-3---------
7. I like this concert, must have watched it dozens of times. I just love the start where the woman is looking through the binoculars! What a segue!! I like Jaco, A LOT, but i'm no musical expert so can't / won't have well reasoned and thought out debates about the pro's and cons of his music without coming out sounding like an arse! Cheers.
8. Big fan of that. I've not really heard much "worship" / gospel music, so it seems i'm missing out on all of that funk!
9. Tux is looking good, a bit fiddley, but it's FREE! thanks guys!
10. Not sure how these are done, but i did buy the book of the transcriptions of Stadium Arcadium. It came with 2 CD's of isolated bass and guitar tracks too. It's surprising just how many fluffs, clicks and muffled notes are covered up by other instruments. At least it's nice to know that my idol is still human!
11. Ah yes, forgot to say, i'm a Mac user, if that makes a difference. Cheers guys!
12. Smashing, thanks guys, that's the type of thing i'm looking for. Cheers, Merry Christmas!
13. Hi y'all. I use Finale notepad as a tool for scribbling down any transcriptions i've done. It's a manual input program and sometimes laborious but after using it for years i'm up to speed and don't need to think too much whilst using it. It is free though, and therefore limited in how powerful it is, i.e. you can't change time signature mid-song, 1st and 2nd time bars don't really exist and other things like that which i'm sure you don't need to know right now. Are there any other programs that are suitable for this task? I prefer to do it manually - and not via a midi keyboard etc and input standard notation, not tab, so Guitarpro, tabledit etc are quite what i'm after. After i've done each piece i then print it to pdf and use that to read later. What do y'all use? I don't mind splashing a limited amount of cash, it's not that i'm tight or broke, just that notepad is free and i don't want to spend a grand on an all singing and dancing piece of software for which i only use a little part of. Thanks
14.
Pretty sure you can get Sex for Dummies too.
What are you trying to say about me?
15.
Went to my work's Christmas do last night (I'm the boss) and look what they bought me in the secret santa!!!! Anyone got any fishing gear for sale?
Ha ha, i've got loads of those dummies books, including Tolkein's middle earth for dummies, weather(!) for dummies, Autocad for dummies & another that i can't seem to find. I did a quick search for other books in the range on t'interweb and found lifecoaching for dummies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Dummies & lean for dummies! What the hell is that?!
16. Wow. cool. i didn't know these existed, but then again i'd not searched for them! Cheers.
17. Cool, i've been thinking about getting some backing tracks, just something to play along to. Might look into that. Cheers.
18.
I was thinking of the chorus on 'Come on over' [Jaco solo album, the track with Sam & Dave on Vox] Garry
Yeah, i noticed that too, one of his fills is exactly like it. The thing is, there will always be similarities in music, whether you mean it or not - take the Satch and Coldplay debacle. Also it'd be quite easy to slip in a fill from a similar bassline you're more used to playing, either intentionally or by habit. - that's why all my playing sounds the same!
19.
So am I! I honestly thought it was one of those Jaco 'Shreds' videos until I read the comments.
Those shred videos are brilliant, the steve vai one is the best!
20.
Shadows and Light for me is a bit difficult to watch, too many edits of wolves and nonsense! The playing is great though!
I watched shadows and light with a friend of my (session sax player) and he spent the entire time moaning about Jaco being so high in the mix that it was drowning out any of the other instruments, especially the sax! (whereas i was moaning about how loud the woodwind was! ha ha!).
21. 5, and that's all i need, isn't it? hmm, you've got me thinking now!!! As well as the ones listed below i've got a no-name precisiony cheap thing at my mum's, in case i go home for a weekend and don't take one with me!!
22. I could never put anything on youtube of me playing, or in fact doing ANYTHING!! I couldn't face the criticism! A bit like Marty McFly in back to the future!
23. Hi AM, welcome to basschat! I'd say the jazz, only 'cos i want one too! I tried a friend's one and fell in love with it. But then again, the streamers are nice..... ^_^
