1.
just listened through headphones, the mono versions sound better to me, more heft ,
yup, i thought that too.
2. OK, when I get a minute I'll give it a go.
3.
I keep on coming back to these. They're not that bad you know - I'd have one.
I don't think they look too bad either, although they don't immediately scream Gibson. I like the 2 octave neck, but would have to play one first.
4. As you can see from the pick, the bridge tuner for my D string has a screw sticking out. It was not like this when I restrung a couple of weeks ago, but now the D string tuner is almost impossible to turn. Is sorting this as simple as detuning, screwing the screw back in, then retuning? Undoing the strings at the headstock is not possible as they are clamped and cut.
5.
I'm not clicking on a Daily Fail link.
Er, it's not.
6. Will post within the UK for an extra tenner. Case included, halfway between a soft and hard case. Pics and further details to follow.
7. Will post within the UK for an extra tenner. Upgraded SD pup and with hard case. Pics and further info to come.
8. Quite interesting that there is still 'Fender magic' when Fender is just a brand. All they have are Leo's original blueprints and the trademark. Still I suppose it's a pretty big 'all'
9.
KEYTAR! Awsome
Bassist in stripey trousers = Awesome
10. no pressure for Jon then
11.
It's arrived! Wooo!
the box is tiny isn't it?
12. The major scale, but learn it all over the neck. Once you know that, you've got all the modes. For example if you learn the C major scale, use the same fingering pattern, but start and finish on D, hey presto you're playing a Dorian mode. Same fingering pattern but start (and finish) on A, hey presto you're playing an Aeolian mode - or natural minor scale. Lots of fun to had discovering the others...
13.
I therefore proclaim, NO BERT WEEDON - NO PUNK!
'Play in a day with Bert Weedon'. Is this not espousing the quintessential punk music ethic?
14. Mine arrived today too! It was waiting for me when I got in from work. Took it to band practice and it works, and kept me in tune with the rest of the band. Definitely not built like a tank (etc) but I'll just look after it. Yup £2 very well spent
15. Update from Jon: The lacquer work took a bit of doing but is all built up, it required a quick level and then a final coat to smooth things out. He built up the coats with gloss in the end, its actually clearer then the satin (for some reason as its the same stuff but with an additive to make it satin) so that helped to maintain the white look, rather than it starting to go ‘vintage’ looking.
16.
The Capt. bought a wireless from me at the SE Bass Bash. Marvellous
And Captain Rumble jnr was killing it in the jam room!

20. £115 from Amazon. It was the only place I could find who had them in stock!
21. I've bitten the bullet and ordered one. I play through a modelling amp, or digital multi fx through an amp, so I'll let you know how it performs.
22. This seems to be his touring set up
23.
Latency figures aren't great again though I see.
Paul Guerin is using one in The Quireboys, I asked him what it was like as the latency figures aren't great, he said "it's the bollix".
24. To any who couldn't make it, I'm sorry but this one was not the one to miss. To quote one of our members stateside: You had to be there!
25.
Coca Cola and Nike didn't change the public face of their produce until people didn't recognise them anymore. AC/DC are in danger of doing that.
Coca Cola did.
