1.
oh hello nurse that's awesome!
Oh I remember when you were talking about looking for one or "Did someone have on"? and now it's here. Are you really going to clean it? If no one has died touching it, I certainly would just love to look at it as it is. Anyone going to polish the Holy Grail? Nah! Still I grew up in Portobello Road. Learned the value of dirt on an icon a long time ago. Good luck to you. How about some sound bites using those original strings? That would be one of the most awsom recordings for a collection. I am sure we would all enjoy and respect an opportunity to hear the authentic sound before you took it apart (probably way too late now!)?.
 2. May I add my own question to this thread pls. If I am out of order maybe an admin could just shift me. I'm a Londoner lived here in Spain on my pnsion (Not Whining!) but I like to buy the occasional Bass Body from the Staes 'USA', and it's becoming impossible now! I have had a 62 P Bass RI stuck in Spanish customs since 30th September. Ofcourse the body cost around $300, the shipping$76 and now ofcourse The TDP part of the Spanish 'Correos' Post Office are holding my bass body untill I pay 21% import duty. But its 300 miles away in Madrid and I'm on the coast in Malaga. I find anything that comes by post always attract Customs while DHL UPS etc, wizz through for the benefit of customer care etc! So that may give you give a helpful clue. Ofcourse that may only be the case here but think about it! The Post of is Just a Tax Collector! Anyone have any ideas of importing from the USA that might save some money? Cheers!
 3. It's funny but cannot remember if I said hi before so Hi ! They say violinists have great memories. If only I had known that all those years ago. It would not have made any difference haha!

But yeh I get uncumfortable with some lyrics when with my kids, even though they are now adults. And why the hell do we now not bother when their are so many F's N's and I hear a C in one song as despite my age my bassist ears are real sensitive! How we fall so far? It wasn't me!
Yes I know your goin to say mellow Yellow but the West Indians around Ladbroke Grove called it "The yellow that maked you mellow", Mellow Yellow made more sense to company! I lived in Lancaster Rd and Don, in Tavistock Cresant or rd? I could look it up but why? All the bands wanted to live around there 'Notting Hill' in those days! Sorry old man chuntering on!
 5.
There are some songs that, if you listen to the lyrics, really shouldn't be played pre-watershed. A good example is Unbelievable by EMF - saying F*** Yellow Mellow by Donovan - widely considered to be advocating underage sex. Any others?
Well as I knew the guy I can tell you yellow mellow was a substance (and could also be chics or?) But yeh I get uncumfortable with some lyrics when with my kids, even though they are now adults. And why the hell do we know not bother when their are so many F's N's and I hear a C in one song as despite my age my bassist ears are real sensitive! How we fall so far? It wasn't me!

Even though the quarter wounds are XL scale, they should fit a standard length bass (34"), as long as it has a thru-body bridge. Would consider trading for similar condition La Bella 760Ns (4 or 5 string set), or La Bella 760FSes. Attached are a few pictures. Paypal only please. Thanks for looking! Would you refresh your list and I am not familier with Kagan and one or 2 links wont open for me. Also if you have spec, for Pups and PAmps or a link that works it would be helpful as I have issues focusing at times. Web searches can take me hours for simple things. Photos are a real blessing to! I can pay using Visa/Paypal or cash in Birthday Cards Hope to hear from you!

 16.
Only just noticed that my new Lakland JO 4 has a thru-body stringing option. I've never owned a bass with this before! I realise there will be some different stresses on strings through the body given various angles etc. and that if I experiment and don't like it then I'm left with a set of strings to throw away. However, I just wondered if in "real world" sense, there was much difference between the two options?
Strings Thru every time. This will maintain your sustain, improve your bass tone generally, Flat wound strings will give you more warmth and string thru will enhance that to. Overall this has been my choise for 30 years. It makes the bass more flexible and it's fun experimenting. I have, and have used all the strings made I think! I was a British string fanatic for years, until I stopped following the crowed and tried flats. Nickel strings are great for metal and also for instrumental solos of certain types. If you have to play. Latin, today, Ska or Reggae tomorrow, Blues and Soul at the week end I couldn't cope. It's all about the bass The good news is that despite the general rule being the more you pay the better the strings will be. I have found that the most popular guitar manufacturer also brands an excellent flat wound string for every day use and much cheaper than my Pro strings, but I love them! I suggest you give those a try at about 20 quid/$ US more or less. Good Luck!
 17.

Did you do this using the flash paint selling on ebay? Amazing coloirs. I have been having so much trouble doing repaint "in my studio". I stopped using Nitro. I don't know if it's the tempretures here but I could not get nitro to harden! At the moment I am using Grafitti paint. (Brand availible if you ask) I don't want to get into trouble I have 3 rebuilds to paint and I am struggling as the Grafitti paint it vc fast drying has loads of colours but barely close to some of the rerpro colour buzz I need for one body! Brand names and other relevent info appreciated! Thanks
 18.
Hello BC'ers This week I sold some items privately through a Facebook bass sales page. I asked the buyer to pay via PayPal to keep it all safe and secure. He had requested that I send the item out as soon as possible, So, automatically I wrapped up the items Sunday night, used the address suoplied from his PayPal account and had it sent off Monday morning. I then got a message from him the next day saying that's his old address and he's moved! I only received these messages after I switched my phone on when I had finished work Monday night. The parcel was already on its way! I had asked Sunday evening if the PayPal address was correct and I also took a picture of the parcel and forward it on via private message. The messages and picture were seen by him on Sunday evening but we're not replied to so I assumed they were correct. Has anyone else had an experience similar to this and can the buyer receive the item ok? He's only moved a short distance from the previous address and it seems like his old address doesn't have any tenants in. The package was sent via royal mail recorded delivery. I'm hoping some ID/statement/bill from the previous addy and the photo of the parcel will help him claim it from the delivery depot.. I think I'm actually worrying about this more than the buyer tbh! Any feedback welcome.
Man I am so sorry. I just opened my secong buying account with ebay and about to open a facebook and ebay shop. Nothing big! But I took the stance early on that I wouldn't send anything out for 3 days no matter what the buyer demanded. I wanted to see the money in the account and a confirmation email from the client that there were no changes. Because I got caught just like you a year ago. The good news is that the parcel was Recorded delivery. The idiot never saw his pickups, but paypal reimbursed him and my sale was secure. Hopefully it will be the same for you. You just have to cover yourself so no bleme goes to you and it seems in this instance the responsibility is clearly on the shoulders of your customer! Good Luck!
 19. Hi from Spain. This is my problem. I bought this 3 tone burst from (like Ionesphere) company last year. When I google this model I see a mixture of 10 and 11 hole pickguards and 3 and 4 ply? I believe Fender did this RI in 82 or 86 first the company I bought from said 1982 build model, con and when I went back to firm this I couldn't get a reply. I phoned them got some rude responce. Honestly speaking quetly I tried to reason and now they block me from even buying go figour! I am also not clear if the 62 RI were fitted with the stacked pots as per the original. Now I been a bass player 58 years this October so I am a bit ashamed I don't know this stuff and at 71 I am going cross eyed for days starring a my VDU until my brain is now numb! So I would really appreciate your opinions as I can no longer rationalies what I am seeing. It drives me goofy! To many conflicting examples on google! ps, Whats a "Topic Tag" if you have a title?
