I agree. I have a 72 P bass and it's the best P I've owned. And I've had a few ( many ).

Andertons have been great. The amp went back this morning for a refund.

Looking at your settings, I'm convinced that my unit was faulty because at that volume setting the speaker was farting and a rasping noise was present.

Unfortunately that was the only way to get anything like a proper bass sound out of this amp.

Can you test this out for me. Use channel 2,turn bass up full and treble on 3. How far can you turn up the volume before the cab rattles and the speaker farts. I got to number 3 with a Pbass. Thank you.

I believe it was your order. 🤠 It's a pity it didn't work out the way I wanted. I'm still on the look out for a gigable 50w bass combo. There is an Ampeg PF50 near me for sale but I doubt it will stand up to regular gigging without some kind of case / rack that will add more weight and size. The Fender ticks all the boxes except sound.

I have made contact with Andertons using their web returns page.... So far nothing from them. Will give them a poke tomorrow morning.

I really don't know. At the moment it sounds so bad I just want a refund.

The back is sealed. I didn't take the grill off the front but it looks and sounds sealed to me. The amp also takes up a lot of the space so the actual speaker cab part is very small. I think this is one of the problems.... It's just not big enough.

Has anyone else got the combo and have found a usable sound? I'm genuinely interested as I really wanted this amp to work for me. Maybe I've got a faulty amp.

I've had another go at the amp before boxing it back up for a return to Andertons. I can only come to one conclusion that it is just a guitar combo marketed as a bass amp. There is no deep bass, or even mid bass to this combo. Even with the bass maxed and the treble turned off I can't get a deep usable bass sound. Tried my P and Jazz with the same results. Even at moderate volumes the cabernet rattles and the speaker farts. I really don't understand what this amp is doing. I was so looking forward to getting a 50w combo that could be used at quiet / medium volume gigs. No one is making this. Oh well the search goes on.

The box was sealed so no inspection had taken place. Interestingly there is a sticker saying it was made in November 2022.

I've checked the valves and they are all seated ok. Nothing from Andertons.☹️

I was so excited this morning counting down the hours and minutes before the knock on the door from DPD delivery man. First thing I get is ' I shouldn't be delivering this as it's 32kg and the legal limit for a single person delivery is 30kg '. Oh well at least it is here I thought. Unboxing went well, very neatly packed with good amount of support. Now it starts to fall down........ 1. No UK mains cable, just a long EU type that is completely useless. OK I think, I can sort that out and Andertons can supply a UK replacement. 2. Plug in and there is a loud hum internally from the amp. This could be my mains so I put a mains cleaner inline and still there is a loud hum that can be heard across the room 6m away. This makes it useless in the studio. 3. The amp is cr*p. That's all. I liked the mid type sound as long as you boost the bass to near max and turn down the treble completely. Unfortunately at number 2 on the volume dial it has a loud rasping sound internally again. The speaker farts out at number 3 and it will no way be loud enough for even a quiet drummer. What a bummer...... It's going back for a refund. MOV_0045.mp4
