I have a very good condition Apogee JAM interface just sitting around. Since all my IOS devices are now using the lightning connector, and the cost to get a new lead is a rip off i might as well sell this. Never had any issues, and its the very best IOS audio interface ive ever used. Certainly better than the iRig interface IME. This also works on Mac's i believe (i don't own one) Just to be clear, it comes with the old style Apple 30 pin connector. Looking for £50 ovno, inc posting to UK mainland address. Pics will follow in a day or two. Manufactures website here http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/jam Cheers.

I got this last year, around June/July time. Ive used it on 3 gigs and while its an amazing box, i really dont need any effects other than my BDDI. It been more use as a computer USB interface, and as that it works perfectly. Its been my main "rig" at home until i got a proper USB interface, and now i use that and a 60-B. Im sure everyone knows what it does but this is the manufacturers website for it http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/b3 It will come in the box, with all the bits that originally came with it (might have to hunt around for any discs though). There are probably one or two minor surface marks but nothing that stands out. Ill get some pics up by the end of the weekend. Its also got the most recent firmware on it. Looking for £100 delivered to UK mainland, or £95 for a central London meet. I dont drive and work all week in central London, so traveling out of London is not going to be worth it im afraid.

Having recently upgraded my PJ to a nice set of EMG GZR pups i now have the following up for sale. First up is my Fralin. This was purchased from Bass Direct for £135 last year (IIR). Never had any issues with it and its been in two bass. The covers are the original covers that came with it, and have not been used as they wouldn't fit in my Squier so i used the original covers. Also comes in original box with screws and sticker. Looking for £80 ovno, inc posting to UK mainland. Next is my Fender Super 55 Split Coil J-B BR PU This was brought from Thomanns in Dec last year. In my PJ its dead silent, and has a slightly fuller tone that has allowed me to use it on its own, something ive not had with most bridge pups. Its still got a vintage vibe about it though. Its a side by side split coil, and uses quick connectors which i had no issues with. Only thing i cant find is the mounting screws for it. Looking for £35 posted to UK mainland, or £30 for central london meet. Any questions feel free to ask. Only thing i cant help with is sound clips, as i took these out before i thought about doing some. Cheers.

How the neck dive (if there is any)? One of the very few complaints ive read by a few owners have mentioned this.
-
Yep, I have both Jazz and P in the Squier CV range, and for a while loved the jazz, but its not been used for about 3 years. These days I use a VM PJ and it seems to give me the best of both. Neck wise whatever bass im gigging has the CV Jazz neck on it. I really love that neck. Even though I have a lovely Lakland maple JO neck its the Squier one that gets used most.

I had one of the old Squier special P 5 string (I think that was what it was called.). It had jazz pups IIR and the widest neck I have ever had the misfortune to play. It wasn't my first 5 string but it put me off them for a few years. These VM's look much better and I wouldn't hesitate to gig with them. In fact I've only gigged Squiers for the past 3 or so years. Ive been meaning to get a 5 string again, just really need to decide on a P or Jazz. Love the look of Jazz basses, but I'm more used to the P tone. Maybe I should get one of each lol.
But as 5 strings go its not a wide neck. The nut is 46mm compared to some that Ive seen at 50+mm. There are, of course, narrower ones but at this price?!!!!! A
Ah, you're right. I took the comment as compared to other 5 string basses but it's almost the same as my old Laklands, and less than my old MIA P 5 Bugger..GAS resumed.

Almost got a VM PV last year. In the end I got the VM PJ and it's my only gigging bass now. I had planned to get a VM PV or Jazz V this year, but after reading the comment about the wide neck I'm not going to bother now. Good review though. If I wasn't so fickle about neck widths and string spacing I'd be gassing for the above.

They do sound good, and although I wasn't sure what they would sound like in my bass, I had heard sound clips comparing them to pups I am familiar with and felt it was worth a shot. As much as I do like Geezer I wasn't looking to get his tone, but they definitely suit my playing. I know these are just passive pups but Im surprised at how cheap they are.

I really like them. The P has a bit less low end mud than my Fralin, so things sound clearer and with a bit more growl. This really came in handy at a gig recently where we were in a very large room with a large stage. I'm not sure how the Fralin would have worked, but having played some really boomy gigs recently the GZR juzt seem to have a bit more openness to it. The bridge pup is nice. It's a bit weaker than the Fender Super 55 it's replaced, but not quite as brash, so blends in better with the neck pup. It's dead silent which is good. Not sure about uk suppliers but Thomanns should have them in on 25th may. Price is around £110 IIR. It's on their website.

We've got 3 TP-Link home plug things here and they work really well. Hardly any issues with them. We got the ones with the mains plug socket on the front, so we don't loose any sockets. Ours are the lower end versions, so the PC's hooked up to them don't get the same speed as my main PC that's wired directly to the hub, but then I can't have the kids hogging all my bandwidth ;-)

DR Black Beautie Strings - never again....
dave_bass5 replied to intime-nick's topic in Accessories and Misc
I don't see that you are helping, you just sound like you have a bee in you're bonnet and need to sound off about it. The DR strings have a certain tone, look and feel. How is recommending a completely different string, and slating the DR's off to those who use them helping? I personally don't care for your opinion or attitude, ( and I expect that's mutual )but you are of course welcome to express it. -

This thread isnt about what stings to use, it's about DR's. They aren't hyped crap, and many people love them. -
Careful now! I started by buying a Focusrite 2i2 in order to email basslines to the rest of the band. Then I started to play with the free Ableton that came with it. Then I entered a daft ditty into the Basschat composition challenge. Now I'm going to buy a keyboard and a full Ableton
Sort of what happened to me. I use my PC as my home rig for rehearsing etc, and I got a 2i2 to replace an ageing M-Audio 2496 card (after seeing how good USB audio interfaces are these days with my B3). First thing i did after getting it up and running was to buy a Midi lead and hook up my old Korg 5N. 3 days before i even plugged a bass in. Previously i hadn't played keyboards for almost 10 years. I do prefer Sonar to Ableton though, but mainly as i know my way around it.

I'd go for the B3, as its easier to turn 3 effects on and off if needed. With the 60B its a bit trickier, or at least thats what ive found.

I've got the same cab and have been thinking about getting something more traditional sounding (not selling the 1212L though). Can I ask what Berg you got and how you find it as a replacement to the 2212L Cheers, and good luck with the sale. You don't see many of these come up on here, and considering what they cost new (are they still made?) this is a real bargain.

Same here. I had an original one when they first came out, and it was fantastic, but no way was it any better than a lot of other basses ive had over the years, my CV and VM Squeirs included. £200 back then was a steal, but now there are so many better, and cheaper alternatives to the overpriced ones that im surprised anyone buys them now.

My PJ set just arrived from the USA. Ill try and install them tonight but first impressions are, the packaging is very good, and they look very classy. The instructions seem very clear and easy to follow and its an all solder-less connection, and everything is included. Ive got a new PG for the bass, so planing on mounting as much as i can on that before starting work on the bass itself. I'd say the hardest part will be getting all the old bits out. All in they cost me £106, inc customs duty etc. I can see a Fralin going to a new home soon if things work out.
