1. I'm pretty Impressed with the software editor. It also allows you to back everything up so if you do over tweak you can go back to the original patch settings.
2. Nice one. I got mine from Amazon. I like their returns policy, not that this is going back. I saw it for about £10 cheaper from another store but went with Amazon.
3. Oh right. Nothing to worry about there then (at least, its fine for me). It seems to be a very strong signal. The way i use mine when im not recording means that im hearing the bass coming directly out of the B3, rather than going through the PC and coming back out. The ASIO driver allows you to adjust the sample rate and latency if your system is a bit lacking, but im getting a better signal, and lower latency than when using my M-Audio 24/94 sound card with programs like Sonar X1 and Audition CS6.
4. So are these Pino basses as good as the Squier CVP's that they are modelled on ;-)
5. Yes you can do all that, although im not sure about getting clean signal. Do you mean direct unaffected or just clean as in not broken up? The only way i can see of getting a direct, non affected signal is to turn the effects off. Using the B3 as a USB interface allows you to use the headphone jack on the box itself, and you can listen back to music coming from the PC, whilst at the same time using the B3 in the normal way (ie, effects, different patches etc). The B3 also has a mix control so you can use this to balance the Bass level with whats coming back from the PC, so the B3 tone doesn't have to go through the PC in order to play alone with MP3's etc, although turning that all the way to max cuts off the direct B3 tone and only gives you 100% whats coming back from the PC. I guess this is more for using with recording software. Depending on your PC you should be able to get quite low latency. Mine is 2ms without any issues. There is also a level out for recording over USB. This gives a bit of extra boost or cut. I think ive got all the above correct, ive not used mine too much like this but i did find it so much easier to use with my PC than using software like Amplitube and GuitarRig etc.
6.
can someone explain to me how does this work as an audio interface for a laptop, is it case of just plugging it in and then I can use it as my audio card in ableton?.
Well thats how it works for me with my PC. As soon as its hooked up to my Windows 8 PC it becomes the default in and output device.
7. I never really liked them in my old 55-01 either. I changed the preamp but i still didnt really love the tone. I think the pups are the only let down on these bases. For what its worth i change the pups in my Lakland DJ5 to Nordstrands and didnt really like those either.
8. I think its already been stated by Zoom that the B3 will not be getting the 6 slots like the Guitar version if that what you mean. Its a shame though. Ive updated the title to reflect the lack of anything major in the new FW.
9. Just a heads up. Someone posted this no Talkbass so im sure some already know about it. Both new FW and a new G Series ASIO driver are available. http://www.zoom.co.j...ds/b3/software/ Im not sure what they mean by supports Windows 8 and USB3. Ive not had any issues with either.
10. Hi. I can't help with the tabs but can I suggest you punctuate any future posts, that was difficult to read Good luck.
11. A friend of mine's brother knows Steve very well. Apparently he plays (or play) golf with him quite a bit. Unfortunately I dont have any contact details for my mate anymore, but ill try and track him down and pass the thread details, on if I can. It's a fantastic idea and one that I'm sure Steve would be happy to help out on once he finds out.
12.
Can't think of any smart comments re this....wish I'd have been that good though,
The only one i can think of is how obvious that clip was going to be slap bass before even clicking the link. He is good, no doubt, but it seems like almost every kid on YT is learning to play that from a very early age now. Nothing stands out any anyone.
13. Yep, cant fault them. Fantastic service 100% of the time IME.
14. Shame its not paying a bit more, as we are free and my singer lives in Hastings so would be up for it. Minimum would have to be £400 though. Good luck though.
15.
I'd mainly use it at home, but don't want cables/boxes all over the place. No single device does what I need. Back to the Pandora, then. That gets closest to catering for my requirements.
Whatever works i guess. I do admit the lack of aux in would be an issue for me as well if i wasnt using my PC or iPad as a MP3 source. I sold my old Line 6 Bass POD XT (i think it was that version) and brought a Behringer Bass Vamp for its Aux in years ago for the same reason. I then replaced that with a Pandora PX4D that i never use these days. The B3 sounds so much better. You can use a stereo jack to jack (or jack to phono) to a mixer though. The left hand output will give a stereo signal.
16. Ive only done two gigs with mine so far but i power it with a 1Spot PSU, with a set of Eneloops as backup in case the cable gets pulled out. At home sits always powered by USB as i use it in to my PC.
17. You're obviously missing the bigger picture. It's not just a live tool. I'm sure you will find something more suitable.
18.
I had a set of the new coating BB's, liked the feel, the only problem I had with them is that they caused some kind of interference and crackle (like a grounding issue) on my basses, tried it on an active Ray and also passive P and Jazz and they did it on all of them, through different amps as well. Not sure if it was down to the coating or what? Nice strings otherwise.
I think you're right. Ive been trying to figure out when the slight buzz has been coming from with my P bass, and noticed it only happens with the BB's on.
I used to love them. Once they changed the coating and 'improved' the formula I had a run of dead G strings and they lost their zing really quickly. The last straw was an A string breaking on a sound check. I use D'Addario's now at less than half price and they are lasting a lot longer than my last sets of DR's were. It's a real shame as they look so good on a bass.
Agreed. The older coating was much nicer IMO. I do like the tone and look. It was only the look that attracted me to them at first, I thought they would look great on a my white Jazz, but i grew to love them very quickly onc ei started playing them. I had a set of Orange Neons when they first came out but never really took to them.
19. Another duff G string here as well. This is my second set in about 2 years and the G sounded duller than the others. I got in touch with the place i got them from and they sent me a new G. The funny thing is i never fitted it. I needed to use the bass for a couple of gigs in the meantime and just got used to it, or never really noticed it. Im sticking with BB's as i think they feel nice, sound good and look good with a maple fretboard.
20.
DV's response: http://www.dv247.com...stration/133450
Yep, already posted twice ;-) Messy thread.
21. I think its already out in Canada, there is at least one guy already using one over on TB and he has posted some thoughts and findings etc.
22.
just posted on facespace http://www.dv247.com...stration/133450

Hi, here's the official statement from DV247: http://www.dv247.com...stration/133450
LOL, I think someone needs to read a few posts first before posting..
23. Haha, yeah, ive got some gaffa tape over my light. The mixer is always on, and sits on top of my PC but out of sight at the back. The light was really bugging me for a while.
24. The UK music shops were up in arms when Thomanns first started selling over here, no one was going to touch them.....until people actually wanted to buy something at a decent price.
25.
I got a behringer xenyx 802 mixer which is really good. Cheap and cheerful. Sound quality is fantastic. Doesn't sound like ass!
Same here. No issues with it for home recording. I use it was the main input/output for my PC. No noise issues and its never broken down. I cant think of any thing else to say really, great value for money.
