  1. My first gig without back line was what promoted me to get a BDI-21. Just for that gig. it was a few years later when the BDDI bug hit me though. On that gig i got the sound guy to put my monitor behind me, seemed to work much better than in front where it started. It felt and sounded wrong in front.
  2. Yaaay, I’m finally in the club!!!!!. Was good meeting up with you and yes, i fell in love with it the moment i picked it up. The neck just felt so flat and solid, exactly what i look for in a neck. I had convinced myself i was going to take it anyway, as so many Yammy lovers cant be wrong, but I’m glad i felt so positive from the off. Even the fugly pup surrounds look better in real life. I used to own a TRBX505 so its not my first Yammy, but I didn’t feel the love for that in a way i do for the 425. I fear this is just the start though. Maybe a 735 next as that was top of the list a month or so ago, but i diverted to a Sire P7 5, which didn’t work out. Short review coming tomorrow night after rehearsals, but I’m sure you all know how positive it will be.
  3. Yeah, my comment was purely based on the OP's situation, which sounds very similar to the gigs ive been doing over the past 15 years. Bigger stages etc, different story.
  4. Thats what i thought. I cant see an issue (in the real world) with going direct to the deck via a jack to jack. Ive been doing it for years without any issues, also on keyboards back in the day, in the same sort of environment as the OP.
  5. Can i ask why a DI box is needed? Whats wrong with going B3n - Desk?
  6. Grab it before he changes his mind again lol. Ive got one of these, amazing value for money.
  7. Blimey, whatever next, solar powered active preamps lol. (I bet someone goes off to google that and posts a link lol)
  8. I didn't know you could do that.
  9. How many other pickups did you try? Cost has absolutely no relation to how good a pup sounds. A pup that costs half of what you paid might have made a huge improvement. Ive had Fralins that sounded very mediocre compared to cheaper pups that cost hold of what i paid. Just saying
  10. Ive just had a message come up on my B1 saying the battery is low. Thats not bad going as these are the ones that came with the pedal and ive used it quite a bit.
  11. Yeah, thats what i used to play a lot of. I had one of these and a Roland SH-09 and SH-101. . Lots of monophonic madness lol.
  12. Yeah, all sorted. Those photos take me backs bit.
  13. Might be worth fixing your post so we can see the images rather than having to click on each one though. in fact none of the links are working anyway. I had one of these, amazing for its time and the low end could hold its own with the big boys. GLWTS
  14. Or the GASinator.....😂
  15. Thats all i want....oh, and for it to be under £100 🙂 Still tempted to try a Palmer Pocket to use with my BDDI.
  16. Photos now added 🙂
  17. Francis just brought my Paradrvier and comms couldn't have been better. Very smooth experience. Cheers mate.
  18. I think we are possibly overthinking this. It’s a £80 box that does everything. It cant possibly have the same quality as something costing a lot more IMO. I too have been looking at the Plex, but it’s overkill for what I need. In fact for the past few days I’ve used the B1 in bypass mode and have been using my BDDI as the tone shaper. There is definitely a difference in quality between the real thing and the sim, even though the sim sounds close enough. Playing with a pick and using headphones is not ideal with this low end stuff
  19. Typing BQ500 in to the search box opens up a world of information ;-). This thread also includes my experience with one.
  20. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way the devices output the signal. The B1 can drive headphones, whereas the 60B cant, so there must be a difference there.
  21. Well the GE300 looks very interesting, and the price seems pretty good. Interesting that none of the Helix boxes could match the B1 for filters, the big Helix seems quite popular with pro musicians. I think I’d be more tempted if they did a bass specific one though.
  22. Well Its definitely got the characteristics of the Stomp IMO. Its so far away from the B1 Four that i cant see why you would want it, considering you sold your Stomp and never used it, but loved the convince of the much smaller B1 Four. Wouldn’t you be back to square one, having another multieffect that you wont take out? EDIT. Sorry, I meant to say Helix, as in the larger one, not Stomp.
  23. Looks like the Stomp, only bigger.
  24. I guess there’s a reason this only costs what it does.
