Never heard this before. Not disclaiming it, but its the first time ive heard about it. Are these good pups then? Never heard of them either lol.

This is an original CV, is that what you are referring to, or the new, lesser CV range?

Lovely colour. I like strong colours.

I play with a pick and struggle with tone. Just cant get away from certain traits that pick playing has, but the CS pups seems to be very sympathetic to my playing style. Probably just a placebo effect owing to the fact that the pups cost so much, but the bass does seem warmer and clearer, without having too much up top. I tend to stick to Fender's spec when it comes to set ups, and then tweak as needed. Most of the time i dont need to. I also have the neck shimmed and this really makes the action feel better for me. This bass has been used as a beater bass, with different necks and bridges etc, its the bass that has had the most mods, but its at a stage where its just perfect. Now if only i didnt have a £1300 bass sitting in a gig bag not getting played......

Agreed. It took me a few rehearsals to get the balance just how i want it, but from the start i felt the CS pups gave me a tone I'd been looking for since i got the Jazz. Certainly it now sounds better to my ears than any other Jazz ive had.

Very easy. You do have to use the software but you just copy all the IR's to a section in the main window and they get stored on the Helix automatically. You then just select the IR block on the pedal (or in the Edit software), and turn a knob until you find one you like the sound of.

Touché Mr Krow 🤗

I use these to get around the missing Amp/cab sims in my FX. Sorry, couldn't resist 🙂 You can still load IR's in to the FX, so its still good enough to DI.

All this CV jazz talk as made me get mine out of retirement. This week (and maybe longer) ill be using it over my BBP34. Been playing it all afternoon. Cant believe how nice it feels, and love the Fender pups it now has in it.

Well on a small stage thats just not possible. I'm talking about him standing next to me, just when he moves around. Could be a coincidence though. It seems fine at gigs so far though.

Isn't it the same for most devices with built in rechargeable batteries?
-
Dont forget the Stomp has up 6 blocks, the FX has up to 9 in a patch. All effects sims are the same though, and both have all. I had my Stomp set up with 5 available footswitch but it was a pain, as I then had no Bank up/down control, and no clear indication the last two blocks were on or off. It also meant two boxes and an extra cable. The FX is so well laid out (and thought out) for live use it makes more sense to get this if you are just replacing or running as a pedal board. You can still plug the usual expression pedals in if needed, but at least you arent getting a box larger than needed due to the LT having one built it. At least this was my reasoning for getting the FX.

I'm having a nightmare with my Boss system these days. My guitarist uses the Xvive and has no issues at rehearsals, but my Boss cut out quite a bit. I think its his system effecting mine because it's mainly when he moves closer to me. Might start using the Xvive's again.

Or even in a rehearsal room. Not saying my BB2 didn't do the job though, just not as i was lead to believe. There's probably a reason why a lot of BF owners buy two
-
One of the lines i fell for when i got my BB2 was.... "Anyone using a good 2x12" or 4x10" but wanting deeper cleaner lows and more accurate mids and treble without any loss of loudness." I lost the last two points.
-
I normally only advertise larger items like basses/amps etc as pick up only (no matter what the guy in Spain thought that meant reticently). I realise this limits who can buy but i feel safer handing something over and both parties can agree the item is as sold etc. I also chose not to risk having to chase items, give refunds etc due to items going missing or getting damaged. I also chose not to have to be responsible for poor packaging, although i doubt it would ever come to that, but finding and packing gear takes time and i chose not to want to do it. My loss if i cant sell the item of course.

My point was if your backline is supplying out front sound as well. 99.9% of my gigs over the last 15 years have been like this.
-
Problem ive found with doing this (same goes for my F112) is when its pointing at your head, you're more inclined to lower the volume, which effects the overall mix out front if you want using a PA.
-
Had a BB2, didnt get on with it, now have a Fearless F112 and love it. It sounds better to my ears, plus the ability to use in tilt back mode. F112 is a lot heavier though but that's a not a downside IMO, just a preference. I must admit though, if it wasn't for a very generous member on here i would have another BB2. I was saved at the 11th hour lol.

Probably spent it all on Tech21 gear lol.

Good point. If a millionaire thinks its good value, who are we to argue 😀

Yep, as does my B3n, B1-on, but not in the same league as the Helix. Don't get me wrong, i was/am perfectly happy with the B1-Four. All i need at home is something to make the bass sound good in headphones, with the ability to run my iPad in to it so i can learn songs etc. I dont bother with any effects. All the above work fine. Ive recently been using just the BDDI sim with a IR for home practice with the Stomp, and can do the same thing with the FX, but I'm keeping the Stomp for daily use. I don't like too many wires or too much setting up when i just want to get on and play at home. The Stomp will live in the bedroom ready to go, and the FX will stay in my gig bag ready to go (unless i need to make changes to patches etc, which probably wont happen at home).
-
Yep, certainly more than enough for me. Ive just up a patch that gives me a proper headphone workflow, which I'm quite pleased about. Mono bass with stereo feed from my iPad, output in stereo to headphones, with full control over the volume of each (using iPad volume control of course). Makes the Stomp seem even less needed now, but I like the idea of just keeping the FX in the gig bag and using the Stomp at home. Having the Amp sims do make a difference i guess.
