  1. My 55-01 was also my first 35'' 5 string bass. Lovely player. I had the pre amp upgraded to a NTMB but never really found the tone i was looking for in that bass. Had it for a few years though and never had any complaints. I remember first coming across them in the Bass centre. Never heard of Lakland before that. I played 7 of them, and all were spot on. Hard choice picking one but I went for the cheapest, most boring option...Black.
  2. Haha, i obviously should have asked a typing course. Then again, yes...yes she does....
  3. I find if i leave it so its too late for her to shop around for me she just goes with the links i send her. Then again she is the singer in my band so is sympathetic to the cause. I got her an IEM system.
  4. Cool. I got a set of those last year. Still not even tuned them up 🙂.
  5. Thought it might be good too see what music related gifts we got today. Ill start. Although i did ask for it I'm very impressed with my Rumble 25 LT that my GF got me. just need to find a time to use it.
  6. I’ve already stumbled upon mine, a Fender 25LT Rumble combo. Got to practice my surprise face as I rip the paper off in the morning.
  7. Nice to see the word 'Christmas' being used. I'm fed up with getting 'happy holidays' said to me.
  8. Dont blame you. I also remember the toilets having a step up in to the room. Quite amusing watching people trip up it lol.
  9. Indeed, and even if they could move, they were packed in so tight there was nowhere to move to. Our guitarist would just barge through them. Lucky we never had a situation.
  10. What phone are you using? If one of the newer iPhones make sure you use the earpiece and not the speakers at the bottom. This caught me out when i got my first TP pedal and had an 8plus. I also had issues using a Boss WL-20 as it has a cable tone feature that cuts the top end and stops it working. Appreciate this isnt the case here, just thought I'd mention it.
  11. Is that the place thats in the corner of a town square? The name rings a bell and its the only one i can remember having to go upstairs to. Luckily the first time we played it we had just got our new powered PA speakers so getting in and out wasnt as bad as if we had still been using the old Peavy's. But yes, parking was just silly.
  12. We used to play The Brahms and Liszt in Covent Garden. While technically not a hard get in, just down some stair in to the basement, there was no other entrance, so we would have to get all the gear and through through a packed crowd. Not so bad getting in, but at 1am when th place was heaving and drunk, it was a nightmare. I used to hate doing that gig.
  13. Maybe you just need a better cab that doesn't muddy at those very low freq's😏
  14. Ah, the good old days eh 🤣
  15. Bloody hell!!!!. We used to have a Turbosound PA rig, and although the cabs were only 1x15's and 1x12's the amps weighed a ton. Many times i felt like just letting go on the way out.
  16. Makes me glad ive always had small cabs. I cant imagine carrying something like a 8x10 down some of these staircases.
  17. Dicey O Reillys in Neasden was like this. Covered in beer at the end of the night, not much lighting and treacherous in winter when it iced up.
  18. Worst for me has to be the high walkway over Tower bridge. Not only can you not park on the bridge, therefore have to wheel or carry all the gear from the south side, you have to use the service lift which doesn't have a button, you have to phone someone to come down. When we played it it was a free for all with the caterers and DJ etc.
  19. Same for me, at least for the Tee shirt. The logo is a bit 3D looking on me now lol. Almost worn out my polos though.
  20. Ive been playing that 425 this afternoon, and string for string it out 'growls' the P34, both with the same strings on them, both on the neck pup.
  21. Nice one Paul. Were the old ones easy to get off?
  22. From what ive read over the years quite a lot of MB owners put something before the heads. Mate got his from Bass Direct yesterday.
  23. Haha, who knows, maybe Santa does exist.....
  24. I have the Behringer one, only £14 on Amazon. Must admit after testing every cable I could find I've not used it again. Handy to keep in the gig bag though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-6-In-1-CT100-Cable-Tester/dp/B000CCIVCA/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2VV4AT4YSY5FX&keywords=cable+tester+behringer&qid=1577046579&sprefix=cable+tester+%2Caps%2C154&sr=8-1
  25. My mates just brought one of these (the non D2). I should get to play it through my F112 over Christmas. Only at house volume though. I like that the EQ points are higher than the old style MB heads. I used MB for years, and I'd say 95% of the time with a BDDI in front (and some others like VTBass and DG stuff). I always found MB stuff to be ok but a bit like SpagBol without Parmesan on top. Clean and nice but needed spicing up.I now only have a F1 which is not being used but its been my fav MB head.
