  1. I mean the Darkglass and BDDI sims. Both are technically bass preamps. Not sure if the Ampeg Screamer counts.
  2. There are at least a couple of well loved preamps in it so i dont miss the amp/cab sims at all. Plus you can load IR's so that sort of covers the cab part.
  3. Got one last purchase in this year. Ive just ordered another set of EB Cobalt Flats. I fancy giving them another go. Hoping there are no rust spots on the strings like my last set.
  4. Must admit i want to gig my BB425, but feel guilty about leaving the P34 at home, so i take the P34. This is why i voted my P34 as my worst purchase of the year in the other thread. Not that its anything less than fantastic, but i really shouldn't have brought it as i already had basses that were more than fine, and now i dont use them.
  5. There's your answer right that 😁
  6. My P34 weighs 9.8lbs. Lighter than that Sire V7 which weighs 10.2lb, my heaviest bass.
  7. Not sure if this was posted before, but ive only just come across it.
  8. Like a budget version 😂
  9. I guess you would also need to compare new for new. After all, a bass that's a a few years old will already be nicely settled in.
  10. Cool. Well worth it though, ive been using the HD 25-II's for years.
  11. Difficult to say. I guess the closest to the P34/5 is the 734/5. Pretty close in most respects but they have different finishes, and I'm guessing that would contribute to the tone on each bass.
  12. Only the high end Yamahas, the Japanese ones i think, definitely not the low end, but i would imagine after a couple of dozen gigs any bass will be in the same zone. From the Yamaha website Any bass benefits from being "played in," a process in which the instrument matures and opens up as the stresses between the wood and finish, neck and fingerboard, and body and hardware are released, resulting in better sound and playability. Yamaha’s exclusive Initial Response Acceleration (IRA) technology releases those stresses by applying specific vibrations to the completed instruments as part of the crafting process and gives a "played in" bass from day one
  13. IRA is sort of like road worn wood. Not the finish, but the wood itself. It's been treated so its settled already. I personally think its a gimmick, although i can see the logic behind it. I'd rather pay less and not have it. After all, you cant tell what its doing as there are no direct with or without models.
  14. Are you sure the Sennheiser HD 25-1's are in budget? £40 could probably get you used but these sell for around £100.
  15. I would have voted those two as well, but i find my Helix Effects to be more to my liking for live use.
  16. Puppies aren't good for Metal though......
  17. Haha, you on a recruitment drive for Bass Chat 😎
  18. The Ibby is very high on my list, but ill need to play an 18mm one first. I'm sure I can adapt to 16.5mm, but I want to explore a few options first.
  19. Ok, lets keep this short so as to not derail the thread. I dont have the Fearless F112 anymore, i have a Berg CN212. I'm sure you can work the rest out 😉
  20. Within the hour all will be revealed. 🤔
  21. My uneducated guess would be a 1024, as the bridge looks more substantial.
  22. It will be shocking......😎
  23. No, you get banned 😂😂😂
  24. I'm out. I plan on getting a 5 sting Ibby asap but need to sell my P34 first. This won't happen before Wed so there we are, the first casualty of the year lol.
  25. Not quite new, just a change 😏
