  1. Could be too much low end swapping the definition. I agree it could be fixed with EQ, but if the 1025 is anything like my 425 its a very powerful Jazz pup which sounds very strong and powerful. For what its worth the 425 i have has no issues with the lower 4 notes coming across clearly. Then again i play with a pick (so not a real bass player lol).
  2. Or a simpler bass https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/electric-bass-guitars/yamaha-bb-series-bb235-natural-satin-electric-bass-guitar
  3. Never come across a 16.5mm 4 string. I know they exist of course, but I'd hardly call them normal.
  4. Only thing that might cause issues is the very narrow 16.5mm string spacing. Might be an issue, might not, but be aware its quite a drop from the usual 19-20mm 4 string spacing.
  5. Ive always stuck up for Sire basses. They are very good value and have lovely necks. Quite a few come up for sale on here. Ive got a gen 1 V7 and love it......or at least I did until i got a cheap Yamaha 425 (as has been suggested above). The Yamaha's are really easy to play, and the necks seem almost like a decent sized 4 string rather than a cricket bat. They might look boring and plain (they do to me), but the term 'Decent' can definitely, be used with these basses, even though they don’t have the price tag that makes you feel you have a decent bass. Having played quite a few 5 strings over the years (and always gone back to 4's), my Yamaha 425 is by far the cheapest, and while it doesn't have active electronics/exotic woods/bells and whistles etc, its a very, very decent player and can hold its own with any of my previous basses as far as playability goes. In fact I'd take this over a couple of Dingwall ive borrowed, and a Lakland DJ5 I owned. Not saying the 425 is better all round, but it has character and power, which the Dingwalls I borrowed lacked. That might of course be a downside if you don't like the tone, and the pups on the older low end Yamaha's aren't easy to replace.
  6. No problem. I figured anyone looking at this will at least be happy to see it being used and not just static FB photos etc. Must admit ive not seen the whole video, as I'm not planning on getting one.
  7. Thanks for the input, that's told me hasn't it. Sorry you had to waste time typing your informative reply. i assumes you dont count this section of the forum any point either then? https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/100-guitar-effects/
  8. Not really. That's the listed average weight. Cabs can be a lot heavier than the specs say on websites. Seller should give the weight of the actual cab IMO. Just pointing this out because ive been reading about the CN212 cabs, which are advertised as 46lbs, but some owners report anything up to 55lbs. My F112 is also heavier than stated on the Tricky audio website.
  9. I see the c***s are still making music as well (the term music used in a very loose way).
  10. There's a demo on YT now, although only guitar. Sounds nice i guess.
  11. Ive only recently 'discovered' this band, and what an amazing bunch of musicians. i must confess to finding JD's playing a bit grating after a while though. Im not criticising him at all, i love his playing, but only in moderation. Very talented player though, makes it seem so easy.
  12. Its going to not be as loud as the BF 2x10......obviously 😂 Looks like a really nice cab though....hmmmm 🤔
  13. Yep, been discussed a while ago
  14. Haha, don’t get me wrong, as with Yamaha bases i find most 'meh' looking at best. It was the fanfret 5 string that caught my eye. Nothing else.
  15. Bugger, i knew you would say that. Well I'd need to sell my P34 first, and delete all my posts in the gear abstaining thread lol. I have played one of those fanned fretted Ibby's before, and really liked it, but at th time I wasn't in the market for a 5 string so never really had much interest in it other to compare it to my mates Dingwall. Though tit sounded much nicer than the Dingwall.
  16. Damn, i just got bass GAS!!!!

    Which Helix?

Ah, here's the culprit for all these FX purchases lol. Ive not had this, i dont have a pedal, but im guessing its normal. Have you got effects trails turned on? Wonder if that helps.

    Which Helix?

Its one all. I brought a RS212 based mostly on your recommendation 😁

    Which Helix?

I was going to get mine from Peach, but i went with Andertons and 9 months interest free credit. I like to soften the blow.

    Which Helix?

Dont forget we are going Helix floor next year, start saving 🙂 The Stomp is pretty much everything you could want in a small box, but i just find the FX to be so well thought out for live use that i am really over the moon with it. I feel anything i want to do effects wise i now can, even though i dont want to at the moment. With my old eyes having those scribble strips and all the parameters for any of the effects all laid out across the screens has been a game changer. I just wish the foot switches were a bit further apart.
