1.
Just traded a bass with John and wanted to say what a thoroughly nice chap he is Lots of friendly dialogue through the period we talked about what both of us might want to do and zero pressure to 'make a deal' quickly etc. Highly recommended if anyone wants to buy from, or trade with, him!
Cheers Barry, it was a pleasure doing business with you too!

Just met up with barrie to trade my spector for his gorgeous sadowsky NYC. Barrie is a great chap to deal with- very friendly, honest and knows his stuff. Buy from or sell to this man with confidence, and if you can squeeze in a trip to his office the views are spectacular!
  3.
Now traded & about to head home to Henley. A 'Sad' day for John - in more ways than one Yet another really nice guy from BC, came over to my office to arrange the trade & caused mild amusement from my fellow workers to see the pair of us in a West End office with a couple of 'exotic' basses on our laps
A "sad" day indeed! Sorry to see the spector go but happy its going to a great home, and delighted to have a sadowsky NYC to make up for it. Cheers Barrie, and thanks all for the interest.
  4.
Pm sent
And replied!
  5. Possible trade deal in the pipeline- cash offers speak now or forever hold your peace!
  6. Cheers! If it is its an unwelcome record- As much as I hate to see it go I'd much rather have sold it after 450 hits Fingers crossed hey...
Congratulations, you are about to hit 4,500 views. Is this a record! I've tried the bass twice actually, and it really is a beauty. I guess that it's just a bad time to shift expensive gear.
7. Threads like this are what makes Basschat so awesome! I use modes in pretty much everything I play nowadays, but had to learn the hard way through a combination of the remarks made every now and then by the enthusiastic but impatient guitarist, a calculator and a summer of jazz quartet gigs. It can be intimidating at first but it is ultimately a very rewarding thing to learn and hugely useful! Hats off to the guys who have taken the time out to patiently explain how things fit together!
  8. First of all I think AM is likely to be female. Now, as regards the nature of her work, yes, her picture may suggest she is a ghostbuster but a little careful investigation hints otherwise... 'Getting ready to go away'...'out of the country for feb'... 'travels a lot with work' not to mention her location listed as earth. If that doesn't add up just look at the photo which clearly shows the bess lying next to a rudimentary space suit of some kind. Good luck with the sale!!!
I was thinking he was a Ghostbuster?
9. Great price. You're not an astronaut are you?
  10. Cheers Gary, had a coupe of near misses in the last few days but what with one thing and another she remains for sale!
Can't believe this is still here..... If I played 5-string I'd be all over it. This is one of the BEST basses anywhere on here.....
11. I can't believe this still hasn't sold! Perhaps if you had some pictures in natural light it would get a bit more interest going on the forum? Great looking bass though!
  12. Great idea but I think there needs to be some sort of mechanism for making sure that people who order a ticket pay their tenner, otherwise pretty quickly your bass is only worth £900. This is no to say people intend to not pay up etc, its just that even with people of the best intentions (as I think seems to be everyone on BC) these things have a habit of not adding up to the pledged total. Anyone have any idea how this might be best done?
  13. Ah ha, thought you might have a go! The one I bought off the bay is a revelation- highly recommended.
i really want this... pm'd
14. Bump- have spotted something I like so would love to move this on!
  15. Now sold! Thanks for the interest.
  16.
WOW, what a stunning bass. Consider this an "I can't believe such a lush bass at such a good price is still available" bump!
Cheers Gareth, I can't believe it either. I would drop the price again but to be honest I can't really afford to do so as I bought the bass partially as an investment myself. Besides I think the price is very competitive considering the quality of what is on offer and the price of this guitar new. Thomann has the exact same bass, (maple/walnut) listed here for £3866 as their cut price, down from the RRP of 4925 euros, thats £4440. Since this guitar really is in as new condition you're saving around £2,200 and could have your hands on it by the weekend!
  17. Buying new gear means I have to move this one on. You know the amp- £130 ono priced for a quick sale. Alternatively if you don't know the amp you can read the Ashdown blurb here. Its a reliable 1x15 combo, nice warm sound about 300W output which is plenty for most small to medium sized gigs and for backline monitoring and you can always hook it up to an extra cab too if needs be. (Sorry about the budget picture). Please note that this does not have the compression feature that the newer model has. I've had this from new for about 2 and a half years and its been used regularly but never thrashed. It was serviced at the end of last year by Greg at Guitar Aid in Putney when it needed a bit of soldering done, but otherwise I've had no problems with it. There is a slight indentation on the front grill near the top on the right but this is just cosmetic and not too noticeable- you can see it in the pic. This is a straightforward bit of kit, cheap yet sounds great and will handle whatever is required of it. Viewing welcome and collection from Stepney Green, E. London or I can sort out postage if anyone is desperate for that, at their expense mind. Cheers, Johnny
  18. Still available! I need a bass which I can take on aeroplanes without feeling like I'm playing baggage handler's russian roulette with my most treasured possession! I have a tour to South Africa lined up for the end of the month so would love to have replaced this by then- give me a PM if you're interested and offers, including trades and part exchanges will be considered!
  19.
I must have a long sit down with a Spector the next time I'm in the Gallery. Vey nice
I've been trying to sell my spector for far too long now to feel shame... Next time you're at the gallery have a long sit down with my spector and see how you feel about it! Its still a bargain at £1600 for bass chatters- the gallery are happy to list it for £1900 but drop me a PM if you're interested!
